napoli's café

hate it. the server kept passing food, water in over my plate to the person next to me, there was plenty of room for her to go to my left. she did this with everyone at the table. her long hair was inches from my face, unsanitary, gross us out.
the food was acceptable, the noise in the restaurant was insane, drunks yelling for more wine, etc. we couldn't carry one a conversation because of the noise.
this was our second time there, would never return.

great night!. myself and a few friends went to napoli's cafe on a busy friday night, it was one of the best italian meals i've ever had! i ordered the pollo pancetta and my wife ordered the chicken marsala with angel hair pasta on the side we actually wished we didn't finish so we could take the rest home and eat it the next day it was so amazing! the service was great, family owned so everyone does their best to make sure everyone's night is enjoyable. i would 100% come back to napoli's cafe it defines what a true great dining experience is.

great place, great food and great atmosphere. my husband and i and our boys love going to napolis. i have to say we frequent the place on a regular basis. i normally order the pomodoro con bocconcini and i order it with chicken and it is an amazing salad and quite filling. the other item that i truly enjoy is the vongole and because i am somewhat allergic to gluten, it is nice to go to a place that actually has the choice and the noodles are cooked perfectly, not mushy at all. the entire family are in love with the meatballs! i have to admit, sometimes i order a meatball on the side of the salad! :) the kids (ages 12 and 13) love the zucchini fritti. i truly enjoy the wine list and the staff is extremely nice to us all, especially basil! basil and napolis is involved with alot of charities and it is nice to support a place that truly cares about the community.

i totally recommend the place and will keep going back, we even do takeout!

the pasta dish was kind of bland. my bf also had a past dish and his was cold! considering that we were the only people in the restaurant for lunch you would've thought it would be perfect. i do have to say that the service was poor. our server was asleep at the wheel, not helpful.

why not? - here's why.. horrible. here's the short version:

1) ordered a salad and asked if it had bacon bits - half the lettuce was bright yellow.

2) my "tortellini con funghi" arrived and was stuffed with some un-reconizable mess.
the waitress argues with me, then i hear the chef yelling "what a waste" and doesn't even know what their own menu says. so i get to hear the waitress argue with the chef - all of which we over-hear. horrible.

of course, the waitress makes a point of letting us know we are the only table and she was "hoping to get home".
bad service, poor menu ... over-priced too. sad. avoid.

over priced bland food, lack of professional service. out of all restaurants i attended in the last few years this was claerly the worst! if you like over priced, bland food, no service, please go and try! when the owner is confronted he blames you! the customer! you should be be privledged to eat at such a restaurant! beware and stay away. mcdonald's is next door.

take a trip to preston street instead. i would give this place a very average rating. average decor - with the big screen tv playing sports, it feels more like a bar. average wait staff - not overly friendly or talkative, they almost seem annoyed to be serving you.
rolls and bread to start the meal were horrendous! cold and hard. entree was just ok, not the best italian food i ever had but i've had worse. i'd rather drive to preston street or even la cucina on hazeldean for a better italian meal.

good but not worth it.. the pasta meal we were served was not at all impressive considering the cost. blant tomato sauce, dry italian sausage. the service was very good, the wine selection is good. cost was $160 for two: we definitely didn't had for our money's worth.

average at best. finally decided to try this place, and unfortunately i was not impressed.
they were all out of one of their feature wines.
all 3 mains (veal and chicken) were over cooked and very dry.
over-priced for the quality of food.

on the positive side - appetizers were tasty and well presented.

mrs.. the most aweful restaurant experience we've ever had. very snotty servers. you get the feeling that you are a nuisance to them. the service was extremely slow. not too long after the food was served, we kept being asked if we were done. we felt rushed to leave. the food was very greasy. no real presentation either. this place is all hype. lousy food and terrible service. never again !

i can smell the food from here!!!!!!!. i love this restaurant by far my favorite! i am a foodie and the food here is amazing. i have never been disappointed with the food or the wine list. i will always come back for the wonderful seafood dishes. i can not get enough of the atmosphere in there...love it... a little decadent...a little cozy.

with that being said...

i have however been put off on occassion by the seemingly "uppity" attitude by some of the staff. i don't like being patronized or having my server be condensending when picking a wine...there is no such thing as a stupid question remember?

just average. an average itlien eatery. the food is ok but the service is snooty. you can get the feeling that you are a bother to some of the female waitresses.

lunch done right again.. you have to love this place.
call ahead reserve a table of choice...pick your wine...app then meal...all ready when you arrive...in and out in 30 min if necessary but if you are like me...you will linger. love it here...great food, great wine...great staff...keep it up!

quiet, romantic, sophisticated. i have been a fan of napolis for some time...i love the menu, wine and atmoshere. the service has always been incredible, and the timing of the food coming out of the kitchen to the second.
the only change i would make would be to have the tables a little farther apart...its romantic until you see the table next to you leaning in to hear you a little better!
i would recommend this spot for sure.

simply divine-no suprises. napoli's knows what they are doing....the carpaccio is the best in the city, the green salad is amazing, the dressing on it should win an award, you must try it, i know it sounds boring, but it will make you love salads again! great wine list, many options for the wine lover and for the novice. amazing specials to keep you trying new things, amazing service, especially eva, she rocks and is so funny, one of a kind really.....
worth what you spend, great staff and service, all around, it is sure to please!
