very good. stopped here while passing through charlotte on our way home from charleston, sc. i wasn't sure what to expect, i'd just had a bad breakup with jestine's kitchen the night before and wasn't ready to be hurt again. it was a little difficult to find, it's in the center of a small strip mall/shopping center on the back side of the airport. several airport employees were there lunching when we came through. i was expecting a buffet from looking at their website, but is cafeteria style not a buffet. i was starting to have pangs of regret, wifey was expecting to sample the many different sides they had available. you have the option of a small plate (one meat entree) or a large plate (two meat entrees). both came with two sides and your choice of bread. i opted for the large plate with (you guessed it!) fried chicken and smothered pork chops. both were very good. the chicken was moist and flavorful and had a crisp flavorful crust as well. the pork chop was moist and surprisingly thick with a flavorful gravy. i had the chop over rice and mashed potatoes with gravy for my other side (i do love a double starch!). did i mention that the sides were double scoops? my hurt from jestine was starting to heal! wifey had fried chicken (as she sensed i wouldn't share) and ribs. she had mac and cheese andgreensfor her sides. she liked it all but the mac and cheese, she said it was a bit velveeta-y for her. she had cornbread which was good and i had a dinner roll. the dinner roll was my only disappointment with the food, it wasn't homemade. we shared a banana pudding for dessert, it was great. the restaurant was very clean, restrooms and all. great service as well. the best stop of our charleston trip. jestine who? we will be stopping here again next time we're in charlotte!
