i visited on a weekday after the lunch rush. i had thefriedchicken with mashed potatoes, mac & cheese and peach cobbler. the chicken was pretty dry, probably from surviving the lunch rush. the two sides were very good. the peach cobbler was pretty good too. not all menu items are available every day.

delicious - don’t let the disposable plates and cutlery turn you away - this food was super tasty. we had the bbq ribs with mac n cheese and collared greens andfriedchicken with mash potatoes and rice - all things we were advised to eat when visiting the area. the mac and cheese was seriously good, and the collared greens were tasty as. the ribs melted off the bone and the sauce was delicious without being too spicy (but they do have hot sauce if you want to add). oh and the corn bread was really tasty - good thing they provide a single serve because i would have kept on eating it.

very good. stopped here while passing through charlotte on our way home from charleston, sc. i wasn't sure what to expect, i'd just had a bad breakup with jestine's kitchen the night before and wasn't ready to be hurt again. it was a little difficult to find, it's in the center of a small strip mall/shopping center on the back side of the airport. several airport employees were there lunching when we came through. i was expecting a buffet from looking at their website, but is cafeteria style not a buffet. i was starting to have pangs of regret, wifey was expecting to sample the many different sides they had available. you have the option of a small plate (one meat entree) or a large plate (two meat entrees). both came with two sides and your choice of bread. i opted for the large plate with (you guessed it!)friedchicken and smothered pork chops. both were very good. the chicken was moist and flavorful and had a crisp flavorful crust as well. the pork chop was moist and surprisingly thick with a flavorful gravy. i had the chop over rice and mashed potatoes with gravy for my other side (i do love a double starch!). did i mention that the sides were double scoops? my hurt from jestine was starting to heal! wifey hadfriedchicken (as she sensed i wouldn't share) and ribs. she had mac and cheese and greens for her sides. she liked it all but the mac and cheese, she said it was a bit velveeta-y for her. she had cornbread which was good and i had a dinner roll. the dinner roll was my only disappointment with the food, it wasn't homemade. we shared a banana pudding for dessert, it was great. the restaurant was very clean, restrooms and all. great service as well. the best stop of our charleston trip. jestine who? we will be stopping here again next time we're in charlotte!

deliciouso. i love this place. they give you enough food for several meals. my favorite is the meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, cabbage, yams andfriedcrocker...with carrot cake for dessert. the price is very fair and the service is exceptional!

first time visit to nanas soul food kitchen i was not impressed by my selection. i ordered thefriedchicken the collard greens and mac & cheese. thefriedchicken was good the collard greens was sweet and overcooked the mac & cheese was not like my mamas it taste as if it was made with velvetta. the cheesecake had no distinct taste as if it had been in the refrigerator too long
very disappointed since i have heard so much about this place

i wanted to buy some sterlite...smh. i was heading to charlotte for the first time in ages and friend told me i had to visit this place. my initial thought was "i can get great soul food anywhere", so i wasn't too pressed to try them. my friends decided to go and i'm sooo glad i went with them.

nana's is better than any soul food place that i've tried, and i've tried many (yes, there's still others, but whatever).

yes, i was a greedy little pig and got the two meat deal. yes, i paid about $14 bucks for it, and no, i do not care that they served it on a styrofoam plate. the pork chops were tender and full of flavor; the stuffing was out of this world and the tea made me want to kick over the table. a friend had thefriedtilapia and after a quick taste of it, i wanted to steal his plate and run out of the door with it.

as the title says, i was about to go out and buy sterlite containers so i can take a bunch home, but they didn't open until noon on sunday and i left at 9:30.

the food is that good!

overpriced lunch. lunch and dinner combos are the same price. i understand making money off the office park crowd, but i found the price off-putting. myfriedchicken was good, but my compatriots' pork chops were like planks despite being smothered in sauce. the mac and cheese was ok at best. with longer established blue collar diners in the area, i am not in a hurry to return.

wonderful!. i hadfriedchicken. collards, macaroni and cheese and cornbread. the chicken was juicy with a great crispy skin. the mac and cheese was the best i have ever had. i plan to order a pan of it for thanksgiving and claim i made it myself. this is a great place to go esp. if you are out by the farmer's market, it is right down the road!

this place is amazing, and the prices are great! you get a lot of food on the plate. the macaroni and cheese is to die for, and thefriedchicken is the best i have ever had. the people on here that have left negative reviews must be crazy. hands down, one of the best places to eat in charlotte!
