visited chef kunal kapoor’s new indian restaurant - namak at the dusit thani hotel for dinner last night. had a chance to try out a 11 course set menu which is available for diners till 22 december. we tried out both the veg and non-veg menu and loved it. vast range of options, with a new spin on some classic dishes and loads different flavours... we were spoilt for choice.

my personal favourites were the pomelo with black namak salad, the lotus stem shake shake, the really good mushroom khichada, hammour, and the chicken tikka tacos.

the staff is very courteous and extremely friendly. special shout out to yasser & sumila for the lovely service. it made it a memorable night.

at 190 aed this a steal deal. 😀 pics of some of the dishes attached. was too busy eating to get pics of all. 😂

fantastic experience. food was mind blowing so was the presentation & namak team’s knowledge of each food they served. the cocktails & dishes recommended by them exceeded our expectation. namak surely does have one of the best team i’ve come across. loved the way sumila & sayooj were paying attention to their diners. i wish kunal & team namak all the success and look forward to seeing you soon.

we visited namak for dinner today n had an excellent overall experience. distinct flavors n unique presentation of all the items tried during our maiden visit. sumit rendered great service throughout our dinner. expecting to visiting this place again in very near future.

the best dinner i have had in the last few months. i was served by the amazing chef kunal himself. he was completely mind blowing and catered to my every need.... something i totally didnt expect from a celeb chef. all the items in the menu are totally amazing and a must try.

i visited this beautiful place with my family for my parent’s anniversary.

the restaurant is a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. loved the ambience and the courtesy of the people who were serving!

the food is just mind blowing!

all the dishes are creative. i would definitely recommend the oops i dropped my chaat, bread pakora and the kadhai chicken, amongst the cocktails the deccan drink, and for the dessert the deconstructed tiramisu.

they even celebrated by parent’s anniversary with the fall in love mocktail which they absolutely loved!

this place is worth the visit!

the best seller at this restaurant is the kerala confit duck tart and the fall in love mocktail!
the ambience and the friendly gestures and services at this fine restaurant made our evening even special!

diwali evening for an indian foodie means an eve to relax and relish some awesome food. with that intention, my wife and me went to explore the recently opened restaurant namak by one of the celebrity chef kunal kapoor. our attendant mr yasar was courteous enough to explain the concept of the restaurant as well as the menu and we zeroed upon the special set menu for diwali – a nice course meal.

it began with nice minty appetizer to tickle our gastric juices. the condiment of namak para with four varieties of butter graced the table. this was followed by a variance of dahi bhalla and papaddam topped with salsa and foamy mint chutney.
the presentation and innovation itself spoke about the dishes to follow the course.

pan fried eggplant layered with garlic yogurt and apple salsa, grilled prawn salsa over black pepper sauce opened the innings of the course. next followed was dehydrated lotus stem chips sprinkled with chilly dust and aam-papad ketchup + ranch raita. pomello salad over dried ice was waiting for its turn and so was activated charcoal battered bread pakoda.

innovative presentation and garnishing with lemony foam and roasted dal with dry tomato+onion salsa made a standard dal shorba look divine.

with all this, pan shorbet as palate cleanser was absolutely necessary.

the main course started with khitchda a variance of mushroom risotto with barley replacing the rice and this indianized version of risotto in addition to baked spinach with burra cheese and peanut crumble – again a variance of standard palak paneer along with dal makhni in its authentic form did full justice as main course.

how can diwali be without sweets and this place ensured that they will satiate your sweet-tooth completely. artistically presented payasam and mango lassi in form of softy in green tea cone were the perfect showstoppers.

full credit to chef kunal for this wonderful concept and well managed by courteous staff including ms sanam, mr yasser and a sri lankan guy (apologies of not recollecting the name) for our table, didn’t make us miss india on this occasion.

definitely a five star rating.

this restaurant is finally opened in dusit thani.. one of the best restaurant, food taste is just so awesome and delicious.. staff is so good nd service is very nice.. menu has lot of variety a must visit restaurant

pretty place to be!! leaves an impression on your your taste palette !! one suggestion: vegetarians needs more options and i found it more limited.

after months of anticipation and a tantalizing reveal campaign across their instagram account, namak by kunal kapur has opened at the dusit thani abu dhabi, adding an exciting new addition to the culinary options at this particular five-star hotel. namak which means “salt” in hindi revolves around a concept described as ‘indian cuisine with global footprints’ and it appears pretty clear the newest indian restaurant to open in the capital has been heavily influenced by the likes of tamba and carnival by tresind, two uae restaurants setting the bar when it comes to the diverse food of the indian subcontinent.

definitely the best indian food i’ve ever eaten!chef kunal has a unique and new take on indian food. it’s definitely not your typical curry and naan place. their prawn dishes were really amazing and i also loved their pomelo salad!! their tasting menu was to die for and i would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who i come across ♥️♥️

one of the best indian restaurants in abu dhabi by far. indian cuisine with a twist/flair. great cocktails and mocktails. attentive staff, who explain in brief the ingredients and method of preparation before service. many thanks especially to chef ankit, sanam and yana for making our dining experience one to remember. will definitely be coming back

since it's opening we wanted to try it and finally had dinner there.
very warm welcome by the staff followed by a refreshing welcome drink & namak para ( finally an alternative to the regular papads served almost everywhere) with four flavored butters. and sago papad chaat.😋
for starters we'd shake shake. 5/5
main course : chiken kadhai 4/5 saag burrato 5/5
along with some breads and rice.
as a palette cleanser we were served paan flavored sorbet which was just outta the world!!
overall a great experience, top notch service by the entire staff. i like the fact that even the chef was attending to each and every guest to make sure they're having a good dining experience. i just wish there were some more options in the vegetarian main course. but apart from that it's a must visit for all the foodies!

absolutely amazed with namak!! simply one of the best in town now - tamba and punjab grill have some tough competition!!

the staff sumit and sumila were amazing!! they assisted us throughout and recommended the best dishes on the menu.

i have not had duck till date but sumit insisted that i try it and i would not regret it at all! he was right! everything we ordered (pls see my pics for details of my order) has so much flavour that each of it will explode in your mouth 😍

the mocktails and cocktails are 🤤🤤🤤🤤!!

caution - don’t get fooled by the quantity! it’s enough to fill you up 😃😃

best news of all - 40% off on the total bill till the end of this month (oct 2018)!!
