i loved the seafood thali out here....simply heaven....

they use coconut oil for their preparations, so it has a lovely aroma and taste.

this place was crowded and there may be waiting involved, so plan accordingly....

but even after all the waiting, it was totally worth it...

definitely try the sea food, authentic and super awesome.

will surely visit again when i'm in chennai....much love 😘

located close to me, will visit whenever i want to have tangy fish curry meals..this is the place for non veg people..
meals is normal veg type with kootu, rasam, sambar,. we have to order gravy extra.. fish or mutton gravy.. they come with one piece in it..
fish gravy s tangy and i can eat whole meals with this fish gravy itself.
vanjaram fish fry - a thick slice marinated well and fried well..
prawn fry- cooked in coconut oil, very tasty
chicken 65- underrated dish here.. one of best chicken 65 in chennai
mutton chukka- perfectly cooked mutton pieces..
omlette- their coconut oil cooked omlette s very famous here, and taste good..

first thing first, it’s not a usual casual dining restaurant. it’s full of hungry men and women who are prepared to wait for a seat and happily share a table even though they are perfect strangers. the noice in the place is kind of unbearable. it’s hard to locate and no parking nearby what so ever. waiters are hard to come by and they are sometimes helpless in attending to you.

but none of these don’t matter. the meals is fabulous. one tip: avoid the fish curry and mutton kurma that comes with the meals. each of them cost about 60 rupees and not really worth it. prawns fry is out of the world and mutton fry is exquisite. fish fry is tempting but not really good. a fantastic meal despite all the messy stuff.

loved their simple menu and service.

order:
meals
parotta - 2
prawn thokku
mutton fry
idly-2
chicken kurma

i was surprised when i was offered meals for dinner but went with it. the meals had cabbage poriyal, pickle and one kootu. i had fish gravy for my first serve. the gravy was little runny but the flavour was tangy and nice. i had fish gravy for my second serving of rice too (my love for fish). took a little rasam which was very plain. (not spicy or tangy).
the prawn thokku & mutton fry was awesome but the quantity is very less. my hub had parotta & idly with chicken kurma and he loved it.

no of ppl: 2
bill: 379

ambience: 4 (no parking available)
service: 4.5
food: 4.5
vfm: yes
will i go again: yes!!!

overrated and costly..
had dinner,meals ₹65 just for rice,veg fry,rasam n buttermilk..
mutton kuruma was pathetic..(₹62)
fish fry is delicious but overpriced (₹190)- vanjiram
very small quantity of mutton fry (₹80),hardly 4 very small pieces were there..they mixed ginger which looks like small mutton piece in mutton fry..
fish curry(₹60) is neither good nor bad..
totally disappointed..
better go for kuttanadu near adyar-bessy signal..

if you're goal to have good kerala food then this the place (bit tamil style will be there). had been with friends, prawn masala, fish fry and parotta are ultimate. on other side idly is expensive, cost of 2 is 36 and taste below average.

these guys are cheating big time. we went there.hoping for an authentic kerala meal (god knows how many have and how many will), ended up having the typical tamil nadu meals.
.
hopefully these guys stop doing this.

the keralite's slang will catch u nd haunt u.. my personal favorite is kerala parotta nd chicken fry.. nothing can beat the taste of these two items here.. the parotta is so soft nd ssoo soo layered nd thin.. chicken thokku is outtah world.. the fish fry, fish gravy nd all is gud.. i cant give a hype to other items, as they r as usuall as our home..

a normal hotel without fancy interiors or ambience. just concentrating on serving food. attracts family and others alike. restaurant did smell little bit fishy. so vegetarians can take a note of this.

service is responsive and quick. tried meals fish curry and fish fry. fish curry was good with rice. fish fry was fresh but lacked behind in spiciness. overall felt like an average meal. omlet was also pretty mediocre. sides were okay.
