great environment, great service, great food.
dishes: kimchi pork stew & bibimbap
i had the pork kimchi stew with rice and i have to say it is one of the most flavoursome stews i have tried compared to most other korean restaurants. the broth is insanely flavourful. there is an abundance of kimchi inside with few pieces of rice cake and pork. the pork bits were bits of pork belly, however, they may have been boiled in the soup too long as they were a little chewy and tough to eat but their flavour has definitely added to the broth for that umami boost. on the other hand, the bibimbap offered a nice soft flavourful bite when mixed. the meat was thin yet full of flavour.
perhaps the most intriguing part of the experience is the amount is side dishes that comes standard with the meals! there were a total of 12 small side dishes (banchan), each offering a different flavour perspective from the standard kimchi to potatoes cooked in a korean base. if the main meals do not fill you up, the side dishes are sure too!
the service was quite nice with a polite waiter reserving the seats as we initially waited outside the restaurant. once inside, service was quick both the menus and the delivery of the food, once ordered.
overall the myeongdong north strathfield offers a pleasant dining experience for couples, friends or family.
