went on a sunday night at 6pm, and greeted by a long line. luckily, we got called by the waiter to go in very soon therefore skipped the line. the amount and quality of the side dishes were impressive, and easily one of the best i've tasted. also ordered the spicy bone soup and seafood pancake; both very tasty. a bit noisy though with all the people. a hidden gem; will definitely come back again.

myeong dong has become my go-to korean restaurant, despite not being a huge fan of paying for korean food due to use of a lot of processed ingredients. the quality of the food and the 12 free and refillable side dishes is what sets them apart from other korean restaurants in the area. the main dishes are definitely on the pricier side and service/communication of staff can be a hit or miss. i’ve visited them 3 times and have enjoyed all the food ordered, my favourites are the prawn croquettes and seafood pancake. portions are generous, which is what i expect with the cost i have to pay.

great side dishes, soup dishes and their seafood pancake is just delicious. it's worth to come and wait in the queue because the food is just that good. the downside is that the number of dishes you order must equate to or over  the number of people you're eating with, e.g. if you're in a group of 4 people, you must order 4 dishes or more.

one of the best korean restaurants. went there at 2pm on a saturday. had to wait about 15-20 min qs there was a queue. ordered the bulgogi bibimbap, pan-friend spicy pork and crispy chicken. all of them were so delicious. the side dishes are really good and quite fresh compared to a lot of korean restaurants. it was a bit noisy as it was busy.

korean restaurant that serves many kinds of soup dishes. best enjoyed in cold weather and sometimes with beers/soju.

spicy pork bone soup: 4/5
the pork is juicy and succulent. portion big enough for 2 persons sharing. the soup is a little too spicy though.

i had heard amazing things about the spicy pork bone soup ($17), and sure enough, you’ll find it on most tables here. piled ridiculously high in the bubbling pot, the pork bones were actually satisfyingly meaty, providing a good serve of tender meat even for those who don’t like to pick the bones clean. despite reviews promising that it was ‘unusually spicy’, i actually found this to be rather tame. but that’s not a bad thing – in fact, the mildness meant that you could really taste the rich meatiness of the broth, and to have a few good sips without the spices becoming overwhelming.

absolutely adored the seafood pancake and even ordered one more afterwards! we loved it too much, it was very crispy, oily but nevertheless so delicious! the soups were also great. i wish to try the ox tail or ox bone next time as it was sold out when i went. there was so many sides, many were enjoyable! thanks for the great seafood pancake and lovely authentic dishes :)

strongly recommend for someone who loves korean side dishes, soup and seafood pancake.

have been there 4 times and found out that the side dishes are not completed fixed. seafood pancake is always good with or without the dipping sauce.

soup works well with either hot or cold weather. i would defo try some hot pots as they looks extremely inviting!

there’s a reason why half the pictures on zomato are of their banchan - their range is amazing!!
prestigious for their huge range of banchan, myeongdong is a tasty spot for a reasonably-priced korean meal.
there weren’t many obvious vegan options on the menu apart from the vegetarian bibimbap (which i’m sure would’ve been nice, but i wanted more substance than vegetables and rice) so i asked the waiter if the usually seafood sundubu could be veganised.
i applaud their servers as the they are able to maintain their composure and good service even when the restaurant is so busy.
i would give this restaurant 5 stars if there were some more vegetarian options, or if they could improve their menu by showing which items could easily be vegetarianised.

i love the food. went here with my korean friends and they said this is the closest authentic one to their home food in korea. the food range are different from what ive tasted in the cbd (which are mostly like chinese + mixed so i dont really find the korean dish unique), and they are delicious. they have a variety (12 i counted) of side dishes, and they are the best!
there’s no bbq (which i dont really enjoy), only korean cuisine. next time, i’ll bring my friends and family here, when they want to eat “real” korean food.

love how this place gives you so many side dishes with your order and each side dish actually was quite delicious - my favourites were probably the eggplant, radish kimchi and the odeng (?). ordered the chicken on the sizzling plate and the ox bone soup and enjoyed both! both were full of flavour and the soup tasted very authentic similar to the one i had in korea! will definitely be back to try more dishes (the menu is quite extensive) ☺️

you won’t find barbecue grills here, but you will notice that the majority of diners – korean families and chattering groups of friends – sharing hot pot dishes, giant vessels set over a portable gas cookers at the table. the gamjatang spicy pork bone stew is a crowd favourite, a spicy soup piled with raw onions, cabbage, enoki mushrooms, green vegetables and sweet potato noodles.

there’s not a huge amount of diy cooking involved, just some gentle prodding to make sure everything softens as preferred. what you will be rewarded with is a piping hot soup, swollen with goodies. the pork rib bones are the best bit. don’t even bother going for one unless you’re willing to do it justice by using your fingers to get into every last nook and cranny.
