"kobe beef steak and crab legs" chef joe's saturday night special. excellent dinner tonight at mulligan's irish pub, chef joe's saturday night special, kobe beef steak and 1# of crab legs with salad, roasted vegetables and pasta with red sauce, crushed red peppers and fresh grated parmesan cheese. the guinness girls were there tonight with samples of the new guinness black lager, very good, similar to miller, budweiser but with a guinness edge...
my friend had one of the other saturday night specials, prime rib which was also delicious. we sat at the bar to watch sports on one of their many tv's and had excellent service from jon our bartender.
great place to watch the packers, brewers, nascar or your favorite teams and enjoy a beverage, appetizer, sandwich or dinner........ many daily and game day specials and awesome "happy hour" specials.....

'magnificent stuffed orange roughy'. mulligan's irish pub and grill - friday nightseafoodspecial
'grilled orange roughy stuffed with shrimp and asparagas'
tonight's special was an exciting twist on orange roughy.
my meal started off with a delicious cocktail from one of the amazing mixologists who always come up with an interesting beverage to quench your thirst.
i chose a salad to accompany my meal, fresh crunchy spring greens with tomatoes, red onion, croutons cucumbers, radishes and choice of dressing, excellent salad!
my entree arrived steaming hot and covered the huge plate it was served on. the white flesh of the orange roughy was firm but tender, was grilled perfectly and melted in my mouth. the fish had a light and mild flavor that was awakened by the tarragon cream sauce that topped the huge filet. underneath the fish was loaded with shrimp, firm, mild and sweet, while the asparagas and peas were fresh, crunchy, full of flavor and married well the the creamy tarragon sauce.
the side of homemade pasta was deliciously represented with a creamy red sauce that had a nice spicy kick to compliment the mild orange roughy.
i can't say enough about mulligan's irish pub and grill. i have been there numerous times with friends and family and all my meals have been excellent experiences. the service is great as is the ambience. the drink pours are generous and the prices are very reasonable for the high quality of the food served.
i am looking forward to trying one of the 'mothers day' specials posted, chef joe's prime rib, or the chicken florentine or the stuffed pork chops, i'm sure mom will be pleased.
until next time, cheers..........

'touche` another hit'. mulligan's irish pub & grill - chef joe's friday nightseafoodspecial
'grilled sweet chili glazed pacific swordfish'
i was enthusiastic about trying chef joe's latest fish special endeavor because i recently had fresh grilled swordfish with a pomegranate glaze (which added an attractive sweet-tart taste to the meaty fish) in mexico, and i wanted to compare that fantastic dish to chef joe's creation.
the swordfish filet was perfectly fresh, full-flavored, grilled with the delicate tastiness still sealed in, not oily or fishy, very meaty, and moist, it literally melted in my mouth.
the sweet/spicy chili sauce enhanced the filets flavor without overpowering it and added a nice kick to the dish.
the flavor of the roasted cauliflower really comes through in the couscous and pairs pleasantly with the chili sauce glaze from the fish.
the accompaniment of the teriyaki glazed sugar snap peas, trumpets 'spring'. the peas were bright and crisp, and teased with a wonderful light coating of a punchy sweet/spicy teriyaki glaze.
it was a very satisfying meal, equal to the dish i had in mexico and i am looking forward to experiencing another one of chef joe's repertoire of delicious creations.
until next time, cheers..............

"easter specials at mulligan's"". after having a deliciousseafoodmeal friday night, i saw the special menu for easter sunday and i was intrigued about trying one of them.
the specials were roasted leg of lamb, prime rib and easter ham. i invited three friends to dine with me and try the specials and we were all very satisfied with our choices.
we started with some perfectly mixed cocktails from the great bartenders and ordered our food.
two of us ordered the prime rib and two of us ordered the leg of lamb. i had the lamb, which i ordered medium rare with a mint pesto sauce, roasted vegetables and mashed yams. the meal started with an excellent house salad (or choice of soup), spring mix, radishes, cucumbers, red onion, tomatoes and dressing. the soup du jour was mediterranean rice and vegetable, we all had salads.
the leg of lamb was just as i ordered, well seasoned, tender, juicy and cooked to a medium rare perfection. the mint pesto sauce was a great choice to accent the flavorful lamb. the vegetables and potatoes were all exquisitely prepared and rounded out my entree.
the prime rib, which is also a saturday night special weekly, was one of the best in town. both arrived as ordered, huge cuts, well seasoned, tender and juicy with a side of au jus. the vegetables and potatoes completed our meals. brian, one of the owners, offered us a sample of the easter ham special which would have been a wonderful choice also. the ham had an incredible glaze and sauce which gave the ham a sensational flavor.
we were all fulfilled with our choices and will definitely be back for prime rib soon on a saturday night. looking forward to our next dining experience at mulligan's.
until next time, cheers..........

"o mahi mahi" fish taco heaven. mulligan's irish pub and grill - chef joe's good fridayseafoodspecial

"grilled mahi mahi fish tacos"

tonights offering was perfection on a plate, the quality of the ingredients and the level of creativity is well executed in this dish tonight.
tender, moist, white chunks of grilled mahi mahi enveloped in 3 delicious, lightly grilled corn tortillas along with a homemade crispy cilantro coleslaw and an excellent mango salsa that added a mouthwatering touch of tropical sweetness. the blend of roasted corn, red onion, tomatoes and cilantro accented the flavorful fish gloriously in every bite.
the accompaniment of the succulent coconut rice pilaf topped with fresh avocado slices and garnish added pizzazz that brought the whole dish together. a wedge of lime to spritz the tacos and rice and some cold beer was all i needed to enjoy one of the best fish tacos dishes i have eaten.
i would love to see more of this type ofseafoodon the friday special, maybe with fresh shrimp and a pineapple relish or lightly grilled baby squid with an asian chili sauce, i know chef joe can be very innovative in the kitchen and look forward to more of his creations.
until next time, cheers......

"remarkable bbq shrimp dish". mulligan's irish pub and grill - chef joe's fridayseafoodspecial

"grilled bbq asian infused jumbo shrimp"

tonight's selection was a shrimp lovers feast, 6 jumbo shrimp perfectly char-grilled and infused with rich wonderful asian influences that would excite any serious asian cuisine fan. the unique flare of the hoisin sauce with its sweet and spicy essence gave the dish a distinctive appeal to my dining experience.
the lo mein pasta was an excellent choice for an accompaniment to the shrimp, cooked al dente along with the fresh and crisp, pea pods, baby corn, scallions, broccoli, carrots, peppers and water chestnuts left no loss for taste. a nice touch was the creamy wasabi sauce drops that added a zing to the shrimps huge array of flavors.
if you enjoy extraordinary food of high quality and of a great value, theseafoodspecialties always meet and surpass those expectations.
mulligan's is a great choice for your lenten season fish fries andseafoodspecials, i haven't been disappointed yet and look forward to my next visit.
until next time, cheers!!

"sensational chilean sea bass special". mulligan's irish pub and grill - chef joe's fridayseafoodspecial

"citrus marinated chilean sea bass"

week after week the consistency in the kitchen keeps on improving. tonight's special was simply extraordinary....
the gorgeously moist, rich chilean sea bass had a wonderful tender buttery texture, fresh and well prepared. chef joe has used the best quality of the fish, its texture, to create a tapestry of taste. marinated in citrus juices helped to create subtle complex flavors that married well with the delicate filet.
the flavor of the perfectly grilled asparagus was fantastic with the chilean sea bass. i really enjoy the variety of the vegetables used with all theseafoodspecials.
the parmesan and truffle infused mashed potatoes were absolutely the best accompaniment i have experienced with any meal at mulligan's, it was "fancy" restaurant scintillating, the flavors beautifully harmonized in every bite, rich and smooth, my taste buds exploded with enormous unexpected flavors.
the roasted red pepper and lemon citron vodka butter sauce was amazing, superbly aromatic with concentrated lemon citrus flavor and smell, the rich sauce elevated the meal to its greatness. i love lemony anything and look forward to similar sauces with chef joe's futureseafooddishes.
tonight i had a wonderful glass of the house cabernet sauvignon which paired well theseafoodspecial.
the drink of the night was a special valentine's day martini, the heartini that kept the bartenders busy with one after the other, mulligan's would be a great choice to take your someone special to this weekend for valentine's day, you will not be disappointed.
until next time, cheers........

"fantastic freshseafooddinner". mulligan's irish pub - review of chef joe's friday night fish special.
grilled hawaiian escolar - it was a dish beyond compare with luscious flavors and a stunning presentation. escolar is a lovely fish, it was a very thick filet, very white, moist, quite mild/delicate in flavor but tender and firm in texture without being overly dense/meaty. the crab stuffed ravioli was an excellent accompaniment to the escolar, with an excellent tomato cream sauce.
the portions were huge and with a mixed spring green salad or clam chowder soup i left stuffed. it certainly was a memorable dinner and i highly recommend everybody trying one of chef joe's specials. mulligan's irish pub, keep up the good work!!

"astonishing gourmetseafooddishes". mulligan's irish pub - chef joe's friday fish special
macadamia nut crusted red snapper - another extraordinary gourmet prepared dish from chef joe.

the red snapper filet was excellent, it had a great firm texture and a sweet, nutty flavor, moist and very fresh tasting with a light macadamia nut coating that complimented the huge filet.
the flavors from the fresh zucchini, cauliflower puree and tomato fumet integrated nicely with the couscous to complete this incredible meal, along with the outstanding clam chowder soup it was a dinner to remember and recommend to all. i am looking forward to experiencing next friday"s special.

"amazing scallops and mushroom risotto". mulligan's irish pub - chef joe's friday fish special

seared diver sea scallops with wild mushroom risotto

excellently prepared dish, one of my favorites is wild mushroom risotto, so theseafoodwas a bonus.
the diver scallops were perfectly seared in extra virgin olive oil and lightly seasoned, they had a gentle-crisp outside with a soft and moist buttery essence underneath.
the wild mushroom risotto was creamy, yet had a meaty texture and delicate flavor. the lobster, apple and fennel salad was a great accompaniment, especially the apples, it really made the whole dish come together.
i paired the dish with an extraordinary light, semi-dry sauvignon blanc from new zealand, it was the perfect wine with the seafood.
i'm already looking forward to experiencing next fridays special. thank you chef joe for another outstanding dinner.

"outstanding fridayseafoodspecials". mulligan's irish pub & grill - chef joe's fridayseafoodspecial

mediterraneanseafoodpasta
tonight's special was immaculate, unique and delicious....
the shrimp, crab and orange roughy provided exquisite tastes of the sea combined with the textural sensations only well cooked homemade pasta can provide.
the shrimp was perfectly cooked and had a fresh bold taste, the crab was surprisingly strong, sweet and delicate.
the savory portion of the meal was the new zealand orange roughy, moist and flavorful, incorporating the zest of the roasted tomatoes into its juicy flesh.
this remarkable dish was paired with a sauvignon blanc from new zealand which had a great character to compliment the seafood.
joe is clearly a passionate chef, who cares deeply about his food, cooking and putting a great and unique product on the table, making the kind of food that he loves to eat as well as cook. every week his supporting ingredients are used to enhance the natural elements of the finished dish, not to bury them.
i have become a fan of mulligan's irish pub and chef joe. i admire his skill, personality and the restaurant. always great service from the wait staff and bartenders. mulligan's is a fun pub with extraordinary food, drinks and live music. you owe it to yourself to experience the uniqueness of this new pub and grill, you will be back. cheers!!
