i had dinner here last night, on the principal strength of its zomato score.
it’s the stereotype of an irish pub (wood and glass, celtic symbols and fonts, etc), but not really pub like - big bright open, none of which is really pub like. it’s not a pub like vibe - more a roadhouse masquerading as a pub. it’s not a criticism because it was nice; it’s just not exactly what it represents itself as being.
the service was a little uneven - quick to be seated (plus), quick for drink orders (plus), slow to get drinks (uh oh), slow for dinner orders and from the kitchen (not good), and very slow when i asked for a second beer (which made me sad).
the food was fine - they market their chili as ‘best in milwaukee’; i was not blown away - for me chili has to have some heat to it and this was pretty bland; not bad but not great. the rest of the food was also fine but not particularly memorable.
beer selection was good - they did have some local options, which is a plus. price was fair - less than $40 tax and tip in, including the bar bill. i liked it well enough also the service took something away from the overall experience. i might try someplace else next time but i wouldn’t be disappointed if i ended up here again instead.
