muffin man caribbean express

well, i liked it. a lot!. the previous reviewer did not have a good experience, but i have not had the same experience as he/she had.
i have to admit i have not encountered a great deal of warm fuzzies, but i have gotten some great jerk chicken. my son prefers the ziggy wings which have a sweet sauce, but i perfer the bite of the jerk wings.
as for not selling breakfast muffins anymore, this is inaccurate to the extreme. they have huge, exceptionallly tasty muffins. they have all the standard choc., double choc., cream cheese, etc.... they also have enjoyable, and unusual muffins like key lime, mango, sweet potato and pina colada.
i am sorry ckedwards had a bad experience, but he/she only says "when they were just a bakery and myfoodwas not very good". however, i have been going there for nigh on five years, and it always had caribbeanfoodduring that time. that, along with the inaccuracy of the statement about muffins leads me to believe there is more than a little spite involved here.
do they have a carry out menu: i do not know because i always just walk in. ditto with the call-ins.
do they have muffins: yes, the best.
do they have caribbean food: yes, and quite good.
do they have the most friendly wait staff: perhaps not.
so in short, i do not come for a "warm fuzzy", i come for great muffins and very good carry out caribbean.

i wish the muffin man was a sit down restaurant because the music, the, people and thefoodare wonderful. i live about 30 minutes away and i would travel there any day of the week for the food. great food, great music!!!!

taste great to me!!!!. don't know how/why someone would write about service at a jamaican restaurant. if you want curbside to go, and don't want to wait in line for yourfoodya know who to call. this is a place that knows who they are and what they do. they are not aspiring to be 50 locations. they know they serve goodfoodand they don't take phone orders because too many order and don't show up. this is a 2-star place with 4-star taste. think quality carryout probably 1st generation siblings, not fine restaurant (though they do have seats). frankly i love jamaican food. muffin man is the best in dc. it's not as well known as negril or tropicana because they are one location, but thefoodis the best. i love the jerk chicken. can't go wrong with any of the muffins though the carrot cake is exceptional. all thefoodis good. my family and i have been pleased with every thing from the fish to ox tails.

reminds me of brooklyn, ny. i grew up in brooklyn, ny and one could always find a caribbean resturant with delicious food.

when i moved to maryland and found heard about then tried muffin man i was in love.

thefoodtaste so much like thefoodserved in the caribbean resturants in brooklyn, i think about home everytime i go to either eat in or take out.

i hope they stay for years to come.

i lived in lanham since 1997 and first heard about muffin man on wpgc 95.5 when donnie said they have the best muffin period... so when i found out i was i walking distance.... i said let me find out what the hype is all about.....i bought a blueberry muffin and i was like wow. there are all kinds of muffins.... made fresh daily.... and thefoodis just superior... the best caribbeanfoodi ever tasted. they also remodeled their location and it turned out into a great cafe.... worth every penny!

i wish i still lived in the area. i moved away years ago but i was in town recently and stopped by for the muffins! they are still as tasty and filling as ever! this is a wonderful cozy establishment. their carribeanfoodis so delicious. i love the jerk wings but i have a hard time ignoring the ziggy wings so i order those two.

you must have a strawberry muffin. the berries are so big and fresh they will sit on your tongue.

the other reviewer is correct, they aren't the most customer friendly oriented location but theirfoodmore than compensates for it.

if you can only stop by for the muffins, do not hesitate! i will be back when i come to town for the inauguration!

no menus and no call ins. i called the muffin-man because i was unable to find a menus online. i wanted to orderfoodto take home for dinner. i was informed that they don't have carry out menus and that i wouldn't be able to call in my order for pick up. the person working there wasn't very polite and didn't give a warm fuzzy feeling at all. i might have gone in if the young lady had a better attitude but do to her i felt that there were better places to spend my money. i have ordered from them when they were just a bakery and myfoodwasn't very good and the person who rang me up had a lack luster personality. i believe that if they had someone better on the phone and a menu available that they would have better business. i work in a office building near there and i catch the marc train so many people ask me what is good to eat around here and i wouldn't say the muffin-man at this time. oh they should changed the name from the muffin-man seeing they don't sell the breakfast muffins anymore.
