mud pie vegan bakery. i went to mud pie for for two reasons: i love bakeries and i had to try an all vegan spot. the atmosphere was charming, and the coffee smelled wonderful. i found their selection to be rather slim, which was disappointing, but the offerings varied enough to be interesting. though tempted to try either their fruit and seed bar, which sounded wonderful, or the cinnamon topped coffee cake, i opted for the classicchocolatechip cookie. my mom grabbed a coffeechocolatechip muffin. as we walked out the door, we instantly opened our goodie bags to sample. the texture of thechocolatechip was pleasantly surprising considering it was gluten free and vegan, not to mention it was monster-sized, so i felt very pleased with my selection though i have certainly had a betterchocolatechip cookie. the muffin, however, had a funky taste and i did not care for it at all. i would return to mud pie to sample other offerings if i was in the area, but overall, the baked goodies were only so-so. i wouldn't make a special trip.
