alameda. we were curious about the place so we made reservations for an early friday evening. the person taking the reservation had to have information repeated several times because of the loud background noise - he was polite and he said he would reserve a nice table for us. we arrived a few minutes early and were shown to a tiny, tiny table - you know the type - where if you reached for anything other items would fall off. we asked for a "normal" table and were placed at an area next to the serving station behind the cash register where we had to contend with the wait staff traffic back and forth directly next to the table - terrible location.
waiter was nice and took the time to explain the menu. no bread except as an extra charged for item - tea refills were slow.foodfinally arrived - nothing special - averagefoodat a lower quality than what you would get at olive garden - except at olive garden you get bread and a salad. the salad i ordered was a wedge of iceberg lettuce with blue cheese dressing, nuts and strawberries - i was not impressed at all. i cannot remember the name of the main course i ordered but it was pasta with a scant amount of sauce and a breaded chicken breast with a little cheese melted on top - not a dish i would go back for.
it seemed like the owners were going for a family type of venue. the wait staff were nice but the extremely loud atmosphere ruined the dining experience for us. the sound was much too loud - i am not talking about music but the ambient noise level produced by the wait staff and customers. it seemed like everyone had to talk very loud to be heard. the building was a typical example of a commercial tenant space with no considerations or designs for sound - hard surfaces all over - the walls, windows, floors and a poor attempt to absorb some sound by placing foam panels in the ceiling. if you want a quiet, relaxing meal - go to chuck e cheese - and sit next to group of kids - it would be quieter. i don't think m' tucci's will be at the top of our list for places to visit again in the near future.

too expensive for the quality. after two visits both times getting aranci for an app and both times they were very good. i had the pasta bolo and didn't care for it. the following time i got the pasta with wild mushrooms, the menu lists three different mushrooms, i got one type, the dish was very bland and tasted faintly of garlic and truffle oil. the bread is very good but unlike most italian places you get charged for bread. on the menu thefoodsounds great but never matches up with what you get.

a macro look at a great dining experience. quality and diverse and reasonable wine list, delicious entrees with an italian flavor and jeffery and wife katy are most gracious. the open feeling of the seating area is not congesting and offers patrons opportunity for enjoying the service, thefoodand the ambience. it should be added that the pricing is reasonable. oso viejo.

love the food, hate the decor. thankfully, thefoodis awesome...because the decor is unimpressive and, i would even say, cheap and tacky.
we loved the fried brie with toasted baguette slices, green apple, strawberries and mixed greens , ordered on our waiter's recommendation. and he was right -- it was tasty and plated beautifully. for our first meal, we decided to stick to the classics. the bolognese sauce was outstanding - rich and meaty with sausage made in house by chef haas. my husband loved his spaghettini and four large pork and wagyu meatballs. the meatballs were well-seasoned and moist. the appetizer and main dishes arrived quickly and our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive.
we liked thefoodso much that the next we ordered pizza for takeout and were not disappointed. the wood fire adds a great crunch to the crust and the sauce is really good. our favorite was the pepperoni and smoked ricotta. the pepperoncini on it added the perfect "bite" to it.
this restaurant is worth the visit - just don't expect too much in the way of ambience; as a matter of fact, if you close your eyes, it will be perfect!

great restaurant!. just had my third visit to m'tucci's kitchina and my third great meal. i have tried something different each time and each time i have been more than impressed with the hight quality and presentation of thefoodhere. everything has been perfectly seasoned and well portioned. my first visit i ordered the chicken milanese...their version of chicken parmesan. i have never had a better prepared breaded chicken breast, it was very moist and flavorful. it is served with cacio pepe....i've never seen this on a menu in abq before. this simple pasta dish is a staple in rome and it went well with the dish. i've resisted ordering it every time i go in because so many other dishes are so tempting. last trip i had a pasta with chicken and mushrooms with ribbon pasta....delicious! tonight was the risotto special with saffron and tuna...another great entree. each time i've had the risotto balls appetizer and grilled caesar salad. perfect! tonight was the first time we ordered dessert. lemon tart was superb, their version of the twinkie...i was skeptical until i tried it...it was really good! even my east coast dinner companion gave high praise on the cannolis. i highly recommend this restaurant. if olive garbage is your impression of good italianfoodyou probably will be disappointed. m'tucci's kitchina is the real thing! this is really good food!

becoming regulars. we went in the first time not realizing what type offoodthey served...maybe sushi or something. we were pleasantly surprised to find italian. wife is not a huge fan of italian, but she is becoming a convert, or maybe she just really likes the wine and the twinky (best dessert ever!!!)...the first time we sampled the house red, had a glass, loved it and order it every time. our favorite server just brings us a glass when she greets us:).....we have had the pizza which is very good, we love the calamari, and we always split the large house salad - perfect for any meal. typically we get one of the specials which are always unique, and have never been disappointed with any aspect. the servers are beautiful, attentive and professional!!!

my son and i went there for a late lunch. the server handed us the very limited lunch menu. then came back for our order when i asked her if we could order something to drink maybe tea or soda. i was not impressed with thefoodselection so i decided to play it safe and order a sandwich. i ordered the steak sandwich. the server came back and informed me they were out of steak. really it's such a limited menu how can you be out of something. i then ordered the chicken salad sandwich. i was in the middle of it when i bit into something slimy. the fatty part of the skin about 1 1/2 inches was in my mouth. yuk! i then opened up the sandwich and there was skin throughout. i was done! my son ordered a pasta dish and it was all stuck together. along with the tip i paid $32 for an awful lunch. never again!

tried it anyway. we overheard some folks at another restaurant one night talking about kitchina and even though they said they received slow service, they said thefoodwas good. so we decided to give it a try. was not really impressed with the interior when we walked in, but decided to stay and try thefoodanyway. took a look at the really small print menu with the not so small prices and decided to stay and try it anyway. we did receive fairly quick service, but it was early in the dinner service, so we probably lucked out there. the salad was good, but you can't mess up salad greens, diced tomatoes, gorgonzola cheese and balsamic vinaigrette, so i still had hope for our meal. i tried the quadrafiorre pasta with alfredo sauce, roast chicken and guanciale. i have never tasted such a salty cream sauce before and when the server checked to see how it was prepared, she said the cooks salt the pork that is in the sauce. the pasta was okay, but nothing to get excited about. my dining companion had spaghetti and meatballs . . . meh. i asked about bread hoping that our server had just forgotten to bring it out, but was told it was $3 extra for about 5 slices of bread. i am thinking that the people that have enjoyed this restaurant have way more $$$ than i do to spend on lackluster italian food. oh well, i tried it anyway.

nice surprise. we drop in here on the way to choir practice. honestly didn't know what to expect from the name, but there were cars out front and we support our locals. our server was fun and friendly and introduced us to the house wine which we liked very much (disappointed we cannot find at total wine). the first visit we shared a grilled romaine salad and a pizza all very good. second time we tried the special which was a seafoodpasta married with a saffron sauce. this was excellent too and i tried to steal from my wife, but she would have none of it... highly recommend the calamari. our service was excellent both times, though we had the same server by choice. the rest of the staff seemed attentive, plus the owners came and spoke with us. all in all, i highly recommend and hope this continues to be our private getaway from the kidos.

service issues. we have been here 3 times hoping the service would get better, but no luck. once you get a drink forget about getting it refilled. i waited 20 minutes the first time i went to get my first beer. the next 2 times were more than 10 minutes each. my wife's ice tea never got refilled at all. you need another beer, take off your shoes and relax. it took about 80 minutes for ourfoodthe first time. that was reduced to about 45 or so the next 2 times. still a pretty good wait for most places when you can't even get a drink refilled. thefoodis not bad, just really small portions and high priced for what you get. no bread? come on man. for what these meals cost you should at least get the option. i agree with someone else that a lot gets wasted at a normal place, but at least offer it. its the cost of doing business in a itialian style restaurant. i own a business and somethings are just the cost of doing business.
we are giving up on this building again. spinn's 1st attempt, tomato cafe, the mill, and now this.

orale!. for the life of me, i just can't understand the negative review i've just read. been here 3 times and each time it's been amazing. and, if it wasn't obvious, a 'burqueno puts red chile in cannelloni (orale!!) i'll keep this short: it's a fun and lively place, with local craft beers and a great wine selection. thefoodis fresh, interesting, and delicious. the service is friendly and knowledgeable, and it's priced very reasonably for all dat. if you want consistently tasteless and perennially cheap "cuisine", go to a chain (mac grille, bucca di bepo, olive garden). this place is a bonafide, 505, wes'side treasure.
