i ordered the pork belly bao, my friend ordered thefriedchicken bao & we got a side of fries / wings. the wings were a tad salty and had gone soggy but were a nice with the fries. the pork belly bao was delicious but small for the price, same with thefriedchicken bao. overall, great experience but definitely overpriced.

mr go’s only reopened 5 days ago after a refurb, same decor with more room. we decided to dine early on a saturday night due to the popularity of this place. we walked in at 5pm and had a few seating options. the service was good, very attentive. cocktails had great flavours. we ordered an array of food from springs rolls, fish cakes, friedrice to the fish and skirt steak. all food ordered was tasty and excellently seasoned. i loved the amount of chilli in the fish cakes, not overly spicy but they weren’t shy in using it. i will definitely visit more frequently!

saw the great reviews on google + zomato, so i decided to visit mr go’s and try out their asian fusion dishes.

***** green beans $11 *****
green beans were flavoured well, i could taste the spice coming from the chilli 🌶 sauce.

🐓 general tso’s chicken $16 🐓
this is one of mr go’s monthly region dishes for february 2020. i felt that the garlic and ginger sauce was a bit too over-powering. it did not help that the chicken pieces had too much skin in proportion to the meat itself.

🐟 fish gua bao $13 🐟
i really loved ❤️ this dish a lot. the milk bun and market fish was soft and easy to eat. the flavours had a good balance of spicy and mild flavours from the mayo, salsa verde, and dukkah seasoning.

***** ambiance + final words *****
appreciated the friendly service, the waiter was prompt and also made sure that i was looked after. he asked for my feedback about the food, which is always a good sign. 👍

if you are looking for a lively vibe with neat variety of artwork, then i would recommend this place for social gatherings or if you are visiting the cbd. i certainly will be back to sample the chicken gua bao and indianfriedchicken dishes. 🙃

dinner here after finding some great reviews on zomato during a visit to wellington.

really enjoyed the atmosphere and considering it was a wednesday night, the place is very lively. tables all occupied we were lucky to time it right and get seated straws away.

staff are friendly and attentive, really appreciated the service here and the food was just as good. really enjoyed the koreanfriedchicken wings and my pineapple express cocktail.

definitely will be back for more next time i’m in the area ☺️

it’s so helpful having a foody daughter in the family - especially when it comes to leaving it up to her to choose a spot for dinner. we end up at mr go’s, who is apparently a fairly new kid on the block of asian fusion/street food. at just after 7:00pm on a tuesday night, the place is pumping pretty hard, but after a few minutes, a table leaves, creating an opening for us.
recommendations include any of the bao buns, which are a medium size, and taste bloody marvellous!!! we had the chicken, classic pork and pork belly - oh so good!!!
followed up with koreanfriedchicken wings, cream cheese wontons and spinach chaat. great flavours and textures abound, and i can highly recommend any of these dishes - they are all quite exceptional!
2 beers, a prosecco, plus the food for 3, comes to $94.50, and leaves plenty of room for an indulgent dessert elsewhere.

really good fusion food, i mean this place is still packed at 8.45pm at night!! (most restaurants in wellington take last orders from kitchen by 9ish) there are various chefs from different backgrounds, each bring their own culinary expertise to the mix. highly recommend the koreanfriedchicken wings, and the taiwanese pop corn chicken. also featuring garage project beers to compliment the meals is a stroke of genius! service is fantastic, staff are friendly and down to earth, even though this place always seems to be the busiest restaurant in wellington. overall experience very good. highly recommended

after reading the reviews thought to give this place a try. the popcorn chicken, kung pao cauliflower and the satay sauce from the beef skew were very salty. thefriedrice was oily. the only thing that was nice was the pork belly bao. the table was sticky and the service was not very attentive even when the place is not very busy.

great place. loved the concept and the food. this place serves small, tapas-like, dishes. but with an asian twist. the food was fresh and cook very well. we had the tofu bao and fish bao, ginger fish, friedrice, pork dumplings and kimchi dumplings goat skewers and popcorn chicken (which is the best). sounds like a lot, but dishes were small and we had 6 people eating.

they also had a special allergy menu, which all restaurants should have. it's the same dishes as the main menu, but just clearly marked with allergens. very user friendly.

i'd recommend this place. great for brunch, lunch afternoon tea or dinner. we'll be back again.

we came in for a quick bite before blade runner. it was quick and the staff were very proud to have won the burger challenge! we had the bun with pork and pickles that went well together. there was alot of pork.friedrice was extremely moist and chewy, qualities that we like. spring onion pancakes was not enough.frieddumplings were fresh. we enjoyed our meal and will come again.

a long overdue trip to try this talked about restaurant. was overwhelmed with the number of diners already seated at 6:30 on a tuesday? strong wafts of nuoc cham, hoisin and other robust asian sauces filled the small dining room. a loud upbeat soundtrack added to the cacophony in the room and only fuelled laughter and chatter among the happy patrons. once seated my dining companion and i ordered the crispyfriedchicken bao, the pork belly bao, spring rolls and mince and cheese dumplings to share. the dumplings were bursting with rich mince filling balanced by the sharpness of the parmesan. both baos were soft and springy to the touch while the pork was unxious andfriedchicken piping hot out of the fryer. spring rolls were crispy yet could have done with more spice in the filling perhaps? an enticing place with its shared bites and certain buzz among customers. will happily return to try the popcorn chicken and other delectables spotted on opposing tables.

work has bought us lunch from here a couple of times and it's been superb on both occasions.

today i got a tofu bun. i wasn't sure how tofu in a bun would be any good but this was eyebrow raisingly good. marinated and coated tofu; the texture was firm; very tasty. the bun was soft and the seasoning and garnish complimented the dish perfectly.

a tasty and satisfying meal.

i'm already looking forward to my next visit.

update
so tonight (about a week since the review above) we popped in for dinner. friday night around 5:15pm.

it's a cool spot, nice decor. it got busy real quick. noise level was ok but a little loud.

we ordered a cocktail and red wine.

for dinner;
kung pow cauliflower
puri puni potato
crispy tofu plate
cream cheese wontons

the cauliflower was the best of the bunch, well seasoned with a chilli saudi. the wontons were rich but again flavoursome. the puri puni was an interesting dish, small and intricate. the flavour didn't impress as michigan as the look of the dish but it was still enjoyable. the tofu was tasty but the dish comprises of three large blocks of tofu, lightly coated with pocked ginger. it was good but would have been more enjoyable if it had come with some veg.

on reflection we ordered too many deepfrieditems and as they come exactly as stated on the menu with no veg etc we would order a bit more carefully.

that said we enjoyed the meal and will be back again.

came in for lunch, were greeted and quickly shown to a table. couldn't resist ordering popcorn chicken, pork belly bao(thefriedchicken one too), pork spring rolls plus the mince and cheese dumplings. soon everything arrived and we were wondering if we had overdone it...fortunately no :)

everything was fresh and tasty, the two bao were delicious. i made the mistake of hastily chomping into a mince and cheese parcel a little too soon, red hot!(always blow on the pie/dumpling)

the dumplings, spring rolls and popcorn chicken all have various dips and sauces to accompany them, each bringing a little extra flavour.

we went with a couple of the soda mixes off the drinks menu, quite refreshing. all up, it was $61 for the pair of us, well fed and pretty happy with everything. will be back :)
