had lunch there with colleagues on buffet basis . the variety was ok could have been better specially in the non vegetarian snacks dickson . although breakfast is also held in the sameplacebut a lunch requires an extensive menu

a goodplacefor family, specially love their sunday brunch. the food is good and so are the staff, you can also sit by the pool and enjoy your meal. i highly recommend this place.

they have a really massive buffet spread. went on a sunday with the missis for lunch. buffet starts at 12. it's not a very crowdedplaceso you can relax and enjoy the buffet. would totally recommend it

mosaic is theplacefor a really good buffet! the food tastes good and there's a decent variety of dishes ranging from continental to north indian. there is also a live counter and i love the ambience.

having been to several buffets in star-rated hotels, the criteria for choosing a fancyplace(read as 4-digit buffet price per person) for a lunch or dinner  has become very complex - restaurant or hotel brand name, cuisine, roof top, live band, karaoke, pool side, live cooking stations, theme nights, etc.. 

i had been to the mosaic restaurant in crowne plaza kochi for a private dinner celebration. as we were among the early guests that night, i got to see the dessert arrangements and restaurant layout before it became crowded and literally full. prior to our visit, we had also requested the restaurant for a small cake and flower bouquet and it was nicely arranged by them at a cost (for bouquet). overall, their service was quite good and we were seated very near to the restaurant guitarist who greatly enhanced the dining experience.. he was gracious to even strum along a "happy birthday" in addition to several other rock classics..  the effect of non obtrusive live music to a dining experience is remarkable, when compared to a ddlj music cd looping away till closing time!!

now, coming to the main topic - food,  when we visited the restaurant, there was a mumbai street foods theme buffet which was priced at 1295 rs ++ taxes per person, which is quite a steep price for a buffet ..  the theme night's live cooking station was set outside near the pool side and there were items like keema kaleji (liver), raggada pattice, chole tikki, dhaba dal, sheermal pao and murgh rasila.  we had ordered one plate of each item and they were all just ok - nothing to rave about..  the salad bar was also decent and had the usual spread of raw veggies and 2-3 shotglass pairings which was mainly for show and the individual pairings did not really match well.  the in-house buffet dishes were a mix of regular veg (paneer, stir fried vegetables, etc) and non-veg dishes (chicken, beef, etc) with biriyani that had to be continuously refilled due to the large seating area and medium sized serving containers.. the starters were potato cheese balls and a chinese style fried chicken..  after seeing the buffet main dishes, one would have expected either more dishes for this four digit buffet price or lesser number of different and unique tasty dishes.. in short, there was nothing much in terms of taste or variety of the buffet dishes..

the dessert section had several kind of desserts and were very well arranged.. but, what you see or read as a dessert name need not be what you get.. true that there was a wide variety of desserts but when a name tag called panna cotta is placed next to a mini shot glass, one would expect it to be a panna cotta and not a gooey custard like dessert.. i brought it to the customer service manager's attention and it was notified to the pastry chef who cited temperature reasons and brought me another chilled piece. now this was a chilled custard pudding and nowhere near a panna cotta..  similar story with tiramisu.. its true that the preparation style of several dishes / desserts depends on the chef / pastry chef's experience but i would expect better authentic desserts for the price that was paid.. else, its safer for the restaurant to stick with a variety of  payasams and halwas.. 

as far as the food cuisine and taste are taken into consideration, there's scope for a lot of improvement...

we opted for buffet which did have a great variety of items on the list including a live counter for non veg items. it was indian themed dinner, also being a festive season the rates were high than usual (rs.1681 per head inc. tax). we were served with mutton liver chopped and fried. the starters went well and tasted good but the main course was not up to the mark in terms of taste. nothing spectacular to be remembered. desserts were available ranging from souffle to ada payasam. personal fav was the payasam.
though it was buffet the staff made sure time and time that we had everything on our table ready. staff are friendly and available through out.
as we were there to celebrate a wedding anniversary we also got a complimentary cake.

goodplaceto have a buffer. decent spread, not so many dishes, still better than some other buffets. the service was excellent.placewas cool. ambience is good.

a decent buffet restaurant. the staff are helpful and try to do their best. we went in as a group for our 3 day stay at the crowne plaza, they made sure to reserve our tables even though it was crowded.
foodwise, there was nothing spectacular, all the dishes were just average, except the deserts. some of the desserts on offer were spectacular.

crowne plaza, aplacewhere kochiities would want to go, once or twice or whatever may the interest be like. i went there for the first time with my wife to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. we made reservations a day prior to our anniversary to make sure we don't have any confusions upon us reaching there.

as its our anniversary, we had booked for a candle light table near to the pool side, and we were told that it was in the mosaic area of the hotel where this was conducted. it was on the 2nd floor and we were greeted with a smiley-go-happy faced waiter. he directed us to our table near the pool side. since the climate was a bit humid, it was a grueling thing to enjoy the decorations and our moment. we were asked if we would like to have 'red wine' or a 'mocktail' as our choice of drink. we both went for red wine and it was really good (though we also later went for mocktails, just to try. ;)). they had a buffet dinner setup for the night (looks mostly like it every night). we had a dedicated staff looking after our requirements for the night, he was polite, calm and had a happy face through out the night. :)

we were first treated with a seafood soup, which was well spiced and warm, with no "usual seafood smells" or anything. later we were introduced to a chicken starter and a crispy potato cutlet, both had a taste of its own never tasted before, chicken looks to have been blended and mixed with schezwan sauce over it (nt sure) but was good.

we relaxed a bit and started conversations before heading out for dinner buffet. we finished our red wines and went inside prepared for some munching. buffet consisted of beef, mutton, fish, chicken, veg stew, biriyani, appams, rotis, naans, kerala rice, kerala naadan veg curries etc. it was a full package, for me, and i tried all the non veg stuffs mentioned above. :d fish curry am (more like dry gravy) and the beef dry fry was the best of the lot, in my opinion, chicken lemon curry was tasty enough for anyone to go for a second time.

after a pretty munching time, we hardly had any space for desserts but since its a beautiful day to have something sweet, we went for a falooda (something that i like a lot) and it was perfect.

we had a slight "not-a-big" problem which was brought as a notice to the staff and since they handled it nicely, i do not want to mention the same here nor do i want that to affect my rating. we got a wedding cake of 250gms and after cutting the same, we had requested to parcel the same.

now, the staff was hospitable, friendly and like i earlier said 'smiley-faced'. they clapped and wished us while we cut our cake. the manager in duty apologized for the 'small' inconvenience that we faced and gave us a good discount on our bill. all this, as a customer, was heart warming gesture from the staff.

would i go there again,hell yes (if there is an expression like that).

in the end we were a "happy-happy" couple who took a very good decision as to where our 2nd anniversary is to be celebrated.

the italian food was really good here!! must try joint! ambience is pretty good and a niceplaceto hangout at night. on the pricey range so please do go with your parents 😊😊😁
