monterey jack's cafe y cantina

this is by far the best service, hands down. the food comes quick, and the atmosphere is amazing. my boyfriend and i were serenaded by the mariachi guitarist and it was amazing! who doesn't love the spanish version of achy breaky heart?? i recommend the supreme tacos. super good carne asada.

excellent. this is my new favorite place for mexican food! all our food was hot and delicious. service was quick and very friendly. cheese queso is a little different, but in a good way. nice environment and the music wasn't too loud. we could actually hear our conversation! will eat there again soon!

we've been looking for the a good mexican restaurant in mwc and we finally found it! went for the first time tonight and it was fantastic! great salsa, margarita's, chili and food!!! entire staff was friendly and excellent service!

good. glad to see them back! went there yesterday and enjoyed the food, i had a chicken enchilada and spinach enchilada and they both were very good. loved the sauce, beans and rice. the beef enchiladas were good but a little salty for my mom. we also shared some tortilla soup, that was the only thing we didnt care for, i love tortilla soup but not when it has loads of cauliflower, broccoli and very little chicken, its not for me.......while i like my veggies, to me this wasnt what i call chicken tortilla soup but veggie soup with a hint of chicken. otherwise, great food, great atmosphere and i will be back to try their other dishes.

good tex-mex. the salsa has a nice kick to it in comparison with other tex-mex joints. the queso seemed less watered down as well. the service is just as excellent as it was the first-go-round. i ordered the avocado enchiladas. i can't give a detailed review on them, because i didn't realize that there would be so many onions in them and i have a dislike of onions-especially when they are in a huge abundance. but let's talk about the sour cream sauce. it had the perfect amount of cheese, creaminess, and flavor. this sour cream sauce is one of the best that i've had. the rice seemed a little dry and the beans were like beans at every other tex-mex joint. the chips didn't seem quite as thin (how i like them) as the first-go-round of mj, but the salsa was better. i loved nino's, but it was slowly slipping into mediocrity. glad to have this monterey jack's back. now we just have to get a good mexican/tex-mex restaurant into del city...

excellent food. very efficient and received food quickly. great service. i don't live in that area, but i will definitely be back.

we've lived in this area for 8 years and just discovered this restaurant. so glad we did! good food, fantastic service. we now eat here once a week.

good salsa. good food, good, attentive service. ask for their special salsas! after asking, our server brought two different salsas. both good. one hot and one with more seasoning. that is one mark of a good mexican restaurant!

good mexican. this was my second visit to monterey jack's. the first was miserable, since the resturant was half empty and they sat us next to the kitchen. second visit wa much better. they have several different salsas. after i asked our server brought out two different salsas. both were very good and spicy. food was good and fast. definitely the better visit.

ask for the salsas!

mmmhmm!. we noticed the sign about a month ago and thought we'd pop in. we were greeted by several when we came in and were brought chips, queso and salsa. our drinks were to us in just a moment or so and then our server was great! i ordered the carne guisada and it was wonderful. the meat was really nice and tender and had a wonderful flavor. he ordered the sonara and loved it! afterward we were treated to sopapillas. mmm!

this last time we stopped in and he had the lunch special with the two tamales, a taco w/beans and rice and he couldn't finish it. the portion size was huge for it being a lunch menu item and the pricing was great! i opted for something smaller this time with getting the bean and cheese nachos. i could only eat 1/2 of it as i had become so full. the green salsa is really nice and hot! with a great flavor. i also have to add that the guacamole is excellent and the staff is absolutely amazing. both times we've been, we've not had to ask for anything, and the staff has been wonderful !!!

welcome back, jack!. the monterey jack is outstanding! food was heavenly. i had the jack special, which is a fajita salad. the meat was succulent. i will be going back for the fajitas, since the meat was so good! the staff went above and beyond to take care of anything i wanted. thank you for coming back to midwest city. i have a new favorite mexican restaurant!
