okay this silkebreadis killer yo! i had the roast beef and cheddar and it was probably one of the best subs i've ever had. the meat is top quality, thebreadis just effin perfect and the veggies are super fresh. i cannot...cannot wait to try thier other sandwiches!

opened in 2008 to immediate success in a small little place in east nashville, mitchell delicatiessen is in larger quarters, better able to accommodate the long line waiting to bite into what might be considered nashville’s favorite sandwich. what makes a sandwich good? it starts with thebreadand one of the genius moves behind mitchell’s is the freshly delivered hoagie rolls andbreadfrom family owned,  silke’s olde world breads, in clarksville. i want to to make a trip to clarksville (about 90 minutes away) just to get thatbreador try the pastry. mitchell’s drums up lots of opinions about which sandwich is the best. the lady behind me in line told me i just had to get the benton’s bacon blt, and she was so convincing i bought some benton’s  bacon to take home, but it’s probably not the same without that great bread.  you can purchase bacon, and deli meat and cheese to take home, and i think if you get there early enough, you can purchase bread, because i saw signs for it but all

bahn mi and asian flank. the asian flank steak was tasty but my husband and i thought the bahn mi was out of this world. don't get me wrong, i had my fair share of bahn mi around the states (the legit ones that cost $3 in asian towns) and this was not the most traditional (i.e. ciabatta bread) but mitchell's still preserved the sandwich's integrity through flavor and texture. the cracklingbreadand savory pork refreshingly offset with pickled veggies, fresh cucumber and cilantro is delightful.

this definitely seems to be a place where all their sandwiches would taste good. don't trap your inner foodie! this place has a habit of trapping you to one sandwich. hopefully i will be able to branch out if i ever stop craving their bahn mi.

silkebreadsupreme!!!. a friend brought me here and we had pastrami and swiss that was truly a joy--mustard not my favorite but it really worked here!, turkey and avocado on silke-wonderful with the bits of bacon shining through intermittently a very refreshing taste and feel to the palate. and then the muffaletta (sp) hit with pickled veggie on the attack of the taste it is quickly muted with each chew of thebreadand the meat begins to come to the fore of the flavors, very interesting!!! do not miss the chai cola!! totally unexpected!!!!
