my family took me here for my 45th birthday. artosis place because i've never been so i want write something upscale and something new. i had the sampler which had a hanger steak i fast waiter if it would be possible for me to swap the steak with some ahi tuna. without hesitation he asked to cook and they granted my wish. the cheese grits were amazing i so was the rest of my meal.. even the salmon tartar was superb. my girlfriend end up getting the salad with the fried green tomatoes which was really delicious and as a main entree she got the salmon with lacked flavor but was cooked right and very tender. it was my birthday so they gave me a free dessert and all of us a complimentary glass of champagne overall had an outstanding experience. the waiter seemed to rush us with ourmenuselections. also was kind of snooty and rude at points. when you work at a place for 18 years that seems to be the norm i will be back.

pretty plating, as you will see from the photos, but that's about it. if this dinner were a race, and all the dishes were runners, then they would all have broken their legs and torn their acls just feet in front of the finish line. by this, i mean they were all headed in the right direction, but all lacked something to really set them apart and put them over the top. i like this type of dining, but in my opinion themenuwas too big and just felt like there was too much going on. it showed in the end as nothing was really stupendous, but all was just okay. our service was good at first, but sort of fizzled out towards the end of the meal. overall not worth the price tag in the end.

very good. we went for a birthday dinner. we ordered the tastingmenuwith the wine pairing. it was very good food, probably one of the better meals i've had in tampa bay, which i find to be severely lacking in this particular genre. the service was fine, although the head waiter did have to slow our server down at one point (we got out of a 5 course meal in 2 hours!). the final course was a pear tart of sorts. generally, that sort of thing wasn't my or my so's cup of tea, but it was phenomenal. that, i think, was the moment i decided the restaurant blew me away, they served us something neither of us ever would have tried and generally don't like and we both cleaned our plates. the execution and the flavor profiles are brilliant. its expensive, but that's to be expected. i would definitely go again.

excellent. had dinner here with some work colleagues recently.menurequired quite a bit of reading & deciphering, but man, the food was delicious! some in our party "got blitzed" and raved about every dish brought out, from first plate to dessert. i opted for the butternut squash salad - outside my "usual" fare, but delicious - and the free range chicken, which was excellent as well. the dulce de leche pot de creme was the perfect end to my meal. i don't drink, so i can't comment on the wine selection, but everything else was great - service was good and timing was spot on.

wonderful place. this place is one of my favorites. yes, some of the dishes are quite small but the flavors are right on spot and so flavorful, and some quite rich, that you really dont' need more then that.

i think americans are too accustomed to large portions of cheap food and doggie bags to go. this place offers neither and it's all the better for it.

they could step up the wine list a little and a rotatingmenuwould be nice. everytime we go it's the same specials and same menus, but that being said, themenuchoices are amazing, the service spectacular, and the atmosphere is very nice.

a nice date place.

go-to fine dining destination. i have gone to mise en place many times over the years, and have loved it every time. it's fine dining at its best if you know what to look for. well executed, thoughtful dishes with portions just large enough for a taste (except the entree's, these are more traditionally sized). the service has always been exceptional with multiple waiters who are knowledgeable about the winemenuand how the dishes are prepared. if you are looking for an exceptional meal and are tired of steak's from bern's, go to mise en place!

i've dined at mise en place many times over the years. it's absolutely divine...the perfect place to celebrate life! if you haven't had the opportunity to experience this epicurean adventure of the senses, it's a must for foodies. since it's inception in 1986, mise en place has garnered a well earned reputation for gastronomical modern american cuisine. themenuwhich changes weekly is masterfully created by culinary genius, marty blitz. under his direction, guests dine on edible works of art that explode with flavor. the night of the party my taste buds danced with glee as i savored roasted butte

mise en place serves up some of the most creative and delicious cuisine in the tampa bay area. it's a smallish, romantic spot with a big city feel. the painful part of dining there is narrowing down your selections because everything on themenusounds amazing (and you know it tastes that way, too). nonetheless, the mistah zeroed right in on the "get blitzed tasting menu".

best restaurant in tampa. if you are a true foodie and know your stuff, you should already have dined at mise en place. the decor is subtle, which i actually like, because it made the food the focus of the night, unlike some places in tampa that are all about the image and not what's on the plate. the drinks have a definite new orleans flair, and the wine list is extensive and has a nice balance between moderate to expensive wines. now, the food- wow! the chef puts a unique spin on textures and flavors and creates an exquisite dining experience in the "get blitzed" tasting menu. the chef also shows his innovative and playful side with dishes like foie gras in a curry passionfruit essence with deliciously sauteed lentils or the hamachi crudo, which lends itself well to the crisp coconut and yuzu soy vinaigrette that accompanies it. as for the service, our server, heath, was absolutely amazing in attentiveness andmenuknowledge. the sommelier even came over to speak to us becuase we were so blown away at his wine pairings with the tasting menu. one word describes mise en place - phenomenal!

great chef, great restaurant. i've been coming to mise en place for many years, for me it is the most creative, interestingmenuin tampa. marty, the chef and owner, showcases his culinary talents daily. i've never had a meal there that wasn't a great dining experience. i highly recommend mise en place.
