i am not sure why you would name arestaurantafter the mimosa tree and not have a specialty drink mimosa but they don't. my husband had shrimp and grits with a gravy sauce. he said it was among the best he has ever had. i had the pulled bbq pork with garlic truffle parmesan fries. the fries had good flavor but nothing amazing. the pulled pork was the traditional nc bbq that had a very subtle vinegar taste. i really enjoyed the flavor and tenderness of the pork. i would try it for dinner if i ever get back to charlotte.

mimosa grill was my favoriterestaurantout of all the restaurants i got to try in downtown charlotte. i think i liked it so much because the food is so fresh. our server made it a point to tell us that the vegetables are all locally grown at least half a dozen times during our meal. it was almost comical. jokes aside, what i really liked best was the mimosa tea. it’s the most delicious non-alcoholic beverage i’ve had in a long time. i’ve had arnold palmer’s (half lemonade, half iced tea) before but their tea takes it up several notches. chad liked it so much that he got multiple refills. i can’t pick on him too much about the refills because i did too. it was delicious. i wanted to go there again and again just for the mimosa tea. i had the lobster mac and cheese. not the best choice. that part of the meal was just okay. i prefer the one here at wine dive better. i though the mac and cheese was a tad greasy. the salad was great, though. probably because the veggies are super fresh. the super delicious tea made up for the lackluster mac and cheese so i forgave them. david had the sea bass. chad had crab cakes, which is what i wish i would have ordered. the crab cakes were piled on top of each other with fried green tomatoes sandwiched in between. he said they were just as scrumptious as they looked. after seeing his plate, i really wanted a do over. alex got a very healthy salad, which looked amazing also. i bet it was really good. you know, because the vegetables are super fresh, being locally grown and all. lol. i joke around but, truly, i really liked mimosa grill. the prices were reasonable and the food was delicious and i wish i could have bottled that mimosa tea and brought it back with me to kansas. i tried to talk the group into eating there again on our final day in charlotte but no one really wants to eat at the same place twice, no matter how great it is. usually when you’re out of town, you want to try a bunch of different restaurants. specially ones tha

couldn't have been better food!. my husband and i were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and i will admit mimosa grill wasn't my first pick. it wasrestaurantweek and we couldn't get reservations anywhere else-even the reservation here was at 5:15. however, we were thrilled we "ended up" at the mimosa grill and would definitely come back. the ambiance was low key but not so quiet you felt like you had to whisper. contemporary furnishings and we sat overlooking tryon street and the fountains. we had the hushpuppy app which was great. we both had salads and my husband had the ny strip and i had the filet. the filet had a boursain cheese/butter on top and the steak was just running with juices when it was served. the twice baked potatoes was delish too! we had the pecan pie for dessert and it was straight out of the oven. my only complaint was the bathrooms were messy. had to step over lots of t.p. and i was kind of shocked that it was 5:15 and looked like this. i went in there again about 7:00 and it was still messed up. however, our waiter was attentive without being pushy and we had a wonderful evening. would definitely recommend and for sure go back whenever we come back to charlotte. (we are from fort bragg, nc)

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, i had the bestrestaurantweek experience at mimosa grill. that’s why i loverestaurantweek–a good experience makes me love the restaurant, and want to go back in “real life.” mimosa grill’s food is diverse, tasty and affordable, and i can’t wait to go back and have some georgia hushpuppies!

great food, even better service!. my boyfriend and i recently went to charlotte to see a concert for new year's eve. we were staying at the omni and wanted to find a nicerestaurantin walking distance before the show. with the help of urbanspoon, we found mimosas grill only a couple of blocks away. when we arrived we were asked if we had reservations and when we told them we didn't they were happy to accommodate us. the food was fantastic! we had shrimp and grits and a sampler of southern veggies - had to start off the new year with some collard greens! our server named sissy was attentive, professional, gave great recommendations, and was super friendly. although we live in birmingham, we will definitely be back to mimosa grill if we are in the charlotte area again!

one of my favorites in dt charlotte. i could have written a review of this location before but just like now, it would be difficult.

reviews notmally try to pick out one of two good things aboutrestaurantbut that is not possible with mimosa. there are so many good things about it, it is impossible to just pick out one.

food is fantastic. while part of the harper's chain of restaurants, this one sits itself apart because the menu is more contemporary and lite. not quite california but close.

menu is also seasonal taking advantage of locally produced food items including many certified as organic.

dinins is leasurely and not rushed. that is not to say that you're ignored. the wait staff is attentive enought and trained enough to recognize when you're ready to move on the next course, or when you need a beverage refill or the next bottle of wime. in other words, perfect timng.

atmosphere is good. contemporary but not much i can say beyond that point.

all in all, when you compare the cost of the meal, it's an excellent value.

maybe i'll have to consider more programs at the belk or the bleumenthal or spirit square just to get an excuse to visit more often.
