mimosagrillwas my favorite restaurant out of all the restaurants i got to try in downtown charlotte. i think i liked it so much because the food is so fresh. our server made it a point to tell us that the vegetables are all locally grown at least half a dozen times during our meal. it was almost comical. jokes aside, what i really liked best was the mimosa tea. it’s the most delicious non-alcoholic beverage i’ve had in a long time. i’ve had arnold palmer’s (half lemonade, half iced tea) before but their tea takes it up several notches. chad liked it so much that he got multiple refills. i can’t pick on him too much about the refills because i did too. it was delicious. i wanted to go there again and again just for the mimosa tea. i had the lobster mac and cheese. not the best choice. that part of the meal was just okay. i prefer the one here at wine dive better. i though the mac and cheese was a tad greasy. the salad was great, though. probably because the veggies are super fresh. the super delicious tea made up for the lackluster mac and cheese so i forgave them. david had the sea bass. chad had crab cakes, which is what i wish i would have ordered. the crab cakes were piled on top of each other with fried green tomatoes sandwiched in between. he said they were just as scrumptious as they looked. after seeing his plate, i really wanted a do over. alex got a very healthy salad, which looked amazing also. i bet it was really good. you know, because the vegetables are super fresh, being locally grown and all. lol. i joke around but, truly, i really liked mimosa grill. the prices were reasonable and the food was delicious and i wish i could have bottled that mimosa tea and brought it back with me to kansas. i tried to talk the group into eating there again on our final day in charlotte but no one really wants to eat at the same place twice, no matter how great it is. usually when you’re out of town, you want to try a bunch of different restaurants. specially ones tha

a delightful experience. we decided to dine at mimosagrillbased upon urban spoon reviews and we were not disappointed. the setting, service and selections were excellent. noise level was low allowing for conversation. our server helped in making a delightful wine selection. we shall certainly return.

couldn't have been better food!. my husband and i were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and i will admit mimosagrillwasn't my first pick. it was restaurant week and we couldn't get reservations anywhere else-even the reservation here was at 5:15. however, we were thrilled we "ended up" at the mimosagrilland would definitely come back. the ambiance was low key but not so quiet you felt like you had to whisper. contemporary furnishings and we sat overlooking tryon street and the fountains. we had the hushpuppy app which was great. we both had salads and my husband had the ny strip and i had the filet. the filet had a boursain cheese/butter on top and the steak was just running with juices when it was served. the twice baked potatoes was delish too! we had the pecan pie for dessert and it was straight out of the oven. my only complaint was the bathrooms were messy. had to step over lots of t.p. and i was kind of shocked that it was 5:15 and looked like this. i went in there again about 7:00 and it was still messed up. however, our waiter was attentive without being pushy and we had a wonderful evening. would definitely recommend and for sure go back whenever we come back to charlotte. (we are from fort bragg, nc)

great food, even better service!. my boyfriend and i recently went to charlotte to see a concert for new year's eve. we were staying at the omni and wanted to find a nice restaurant in walking distance before the show. with the help of urbanspoon, we found mimosasgrillonly a couple of blocks away. when we arrived we were asked if we had reservations and when we told them we didn't they were happy to accommodate us. the food was fantastic! we had shrimp and grits and a sampler of southern veggies - had to start off the new year with some collard greens! our server named sissy was attentive, professional, gave great recommendations, and was super friendly. although we live in birmingham, we will definitely be back to mimosagrillif we are in the charlotte area again!

a top north carolina pick. dining at charlotte's mimosagrillinvolves all the senses! mimosa's interior is gorgeous during daylight hours. "sophisticated urban views" of a beautiful plaza and street scenes are easy to enjoy through this wall of glass. as lighting changes, so do the tableaus - pun intended. take a look at the same table during daylight and after the sun set. made me sigh. warm, light, flaky biscuits served with strawberry butter , perfect for warmer weather. as we move in to fall, i'd expect more of an herb butter. hydro cress and strawberry salad ($9) made with persian feta, vidalia onions, spring pea shoots and pistachios, drizzled with broken balsamic vinaigrette, excited the palate with fresh, perky flavors and texture. if you're not familiar with "broken vinaigrette", it's made by gently stirring together ingredients so they don't completely emulsify. it's dressing that's meant to be drizzled, not tossed, avoiding possibly soggy salads. interesting to note is mimo

the cooking class, part of a regular series offered by mimosagrilland its sister restaurants upstream and zink, featured a four-course menu of sausage and charcuterie items. our group of porcine pupils was guided by master professor of pork and mimosagrillexecutive chef, jon fortes and his sous chef, marlow (apologies for any name misspellings). first order of business was the andouille sausage panini. sous chef marlow started by brea
