excellent brisket. the chopped beef was a little too finely minced for my tastes but not bad. giant potato is just that--giant. nice and fluffy. the iced tea wasgoodand fresh. if they used real butter on the potato and texas toast it would be excellent. oh, and it smells like bbq heaven inside!

my favorite bbq joint. i was introduced to mikes through some buddies in the texas national guard, and i can't believe that i had never eaten at this place before. the food is phenomenal, and the sauce is my favorite out of all the bbq places i have ever eaten.

mikes is a great community restaurant and they are strong supporters of the law enforcement and military community. if you wantgoodbbq, you've got to eat at mikes.

i've been driving past this place for years but never thought to try it. it looks very small from the front side that faces belt line but there's more seating inside than i expected. i tried the two meat combo with two sides. i got ribs, chopped brisket, baked beans & potato salad. both the ribs and brisket were very tender and had great flavor. they definitely dont go over board with the seasoning but it doesnt need it. i tried them both without the sauce first and i was really impressed with howgoodit was. the sauce is different from any othe bbq place i've been but compliments the meat well. now on to the sides! the potato salad was prettygoodand had more of a mustard flavor than most places i've been. the baked beans were verygoodand full of bbq flavor!! oh, the combo also came with some buttered texas toast. great job guys!! i'll def be back!

i am no bbq expert but i do know what tastesgoodto me and this is it: ribs, sliced brisket, pulled pork with the most mustard-y potato salad in texas. craving more already. and yes, they have pie and 'nanner puddin', but i ran out of room in my stomach.

not the prettiest view in town from the front windows but the bbq is decent. ribs were tender and had a nice smoke flavor. hot links were also good. brisket was a bit dry but otherwise ok. it was neither the best i've had or the worst. the fries appeared to be hand cut and were very good. potato salad was average. most interesting was the sauce which was orange and both mildly spicy and tangy. i suspect that it had a mustard base which gave the odd color and unique flavor. it seemed to work. i'd rank this bbq in the middle of the pack for dfw. pleasant service andgoodprices probably nudge it up the ladder a bit. if this was a local place for me i could see eating there occasionally. probably not worth going out of your way for more than once or twice though.
