mike's real pit barbeque

great hole in the wall! delicious ribs. cooked to perfection so that the meat just falls off the bone. but accompanying the meat is the best bbq sauce i think i have ever had. it was awesome. but with that said the hospitality is what made my visit. next time i am in this area i hope to try this place again!

the bbq sauce at mike's real pit bbq is terrific. family owned and operated mike and his daughter morgan do wonderful bbq brisket, sausage, and turkey.

the ribs are great! go on fridays for best deal on the ribs. i get the lone star special most of the time. mike's bbq serves some of the biggest baked potatoes i've ever seen and is easily big enough to be a meal for two people with a couple of sides.

excellent brisket. the chopped beef was a little too finely minced for my tastes but not bad. giant potato is just that--giant. nice and fluffy. the iced tea was good and fresh. if they used real butter on the potato and texas toast it would be excellent. oh, and it smells like bbq heaven inside!

mike's real pit bbq has excellent food, service and atmosphere. a lot of care goes into their cooking. the ribs are tender and the meat falls off the bone. the sliced beef has excellent smoke marks and great smoky flavor. it's hard to get a hold of the pulled pork it goes so fast. i've tried everything and haven't had anything i didn't enjoy. it's defiantly a family friendly joint. the owners will sit down with you and make you feel at home. they're huge supporters of the military, law enforcement, fire fighters, ems and teachers. they've been offering a discount to them for 8 years. all around a great group of people. i ❤️ this place!

ribs are not tender, and very dry. mustard potato salad is the worse i ever had. green beans are not seasoned. i actually choked on the dry meat.

best bbq!. my husband and i were visiting from massachusetts and wanted to try some real texas bbq. mike's was recommended by a friend we were visiting and it was by far the best food we had our entire trip. the sauce was amazing and it's hands down the best bbq i've ever tasted.

i'm an employee for whataburger and mike comes through the drive thru there often. i always tease him about how i love bbq and was waiting on him to bring me some. he actually did do so and boy am i glad he did. he brought me a slab of ribs with his signature bbq sauce. everything was amazing; the rib fell off the bone and had a wonderful smoke taste to them. also the bbq sauce blew my mind it compliments the meat so well. he told me his basic recipe for the bbq sauce but i never thought of two things that i use on a daily basis would make bbq so good. two thumbs up to mike's real pit bbq and after reading others reviews i can't wait to go to his establishment to enjoy all there is to offer. i would recommend mike's real pit bbq to anyone that is looking for the best bbq in texas. and if this review is viewable to mike thank you for the best bbq that i have ever!

my favorite bbq joint. i was introduced to mikes through some buddies in the texas national guard, and i can't believe that i had never eaten at this place before. the food is phenomenal, and the sauce is my favorite out of all the bbq places i have ever eaten.

mikes is a great community restaurant and they are strong supporters of the law enforcement and military community. if you want good bbq, you've got to eat at mikes.

best barbecue i have ever eaten. mikes barbecue is awesome and gives a great military discount. i go at least once month

i've been driving past this place for years but never thought to try it. it looks very small from the front side that faces belt line but there's more seating inside than i expected. i tried the two meat combo with two sides. i got ribs, chopped brisket, baked beans & potato salad. both the ribs and brisket were very tender and had great flavor. they definitely dont go over board with the seasoning but it doesnt need it. i tried them both without the sauce first and i was really impressed with how good it was. the sauce is different from any othe bbq place i've been but compliments the meat well. now on to the sides! the potato salad was pretty good and had more of a mustard flavor than most places i've been. the baked beans were very good and full of bbq flavor!! oh, the combo also came with some buttered texas toast. great job guys!! i'll def be back!

great food and family friendly! drove from fort worth to give it a try and we are glad we did!! brisket was tender and full of flavor. owner took time to chat with us and it's obvious he cares!

i am no bbq expert but i do know what tastes good to me and this is it: ribs, sliced brisket, pulled pork with the most mustard-y potato salad in texas. craving more already. and yes, they have pie and 'nanner puddin', but i ran out of room in my stomach.

several times a week!. i eat at mike's nearly every day. i like the military-friendly attitude (soldiers in uniform get 50% off, i think).
i'm going low-carb, so plenty of meat is what i'm looking for, and mike's delivers. i love the chicken. the moist, tender brisket is always a favorite. the ribs are really good!
mike's is located across from avion village (built originally for the people who helped to win wwii) on beltline. the soldiers, police, local high school coaches, and preachers know where to go for bbq in grand prairie....and it's mike's!!!
