michael's pizza bar

love michael's pizza bar. i come up to pittsburgh about twice a year to see a friend, and go to michael's pizza bar every time. it's our fave. we love thepierogiepizza!! been going now for about 5 years.

badpierogiepizza. usually, i love michael's pizza....it really is in the top five in pittburgh, in my opinion.....i had thepierogiepizza years ago and loved it....got one to go a week ago and it was terrible....a very thin layer of mashed potatoes....onions were still raw....absolutely no flavor without adding tons of salt.....very disappointing....not sure if this was just a fluke or the normal recipe....i'll be back for the red pizza, but will definitely not order this one again.....

genevieve. this pizza is simply one of the top five best in pittsburgh. the service is friendly and efficient. the only complaint i have is that i am a wine drinker, and the only wine they had in stock the day we were there was merlot. our waitress said "he" (i'm assuming the owner) didn't get the wine order that week. i think having a fully stocked bar at all times is really important, especially in the south side. with all of the new development there, you never know who is going to walk through the door.

my favorite pizza. michael's is my favorite pizza for sure. very cheesy and just garlicy enough. i've found that if you ask for it a little well done, the crust is absolutely perfect. the toppings are plenty, but the plain is good all by itself. thepierogiepizza is delicious also. not wild about their wings, though...they've gotten a little skimpy over the years. but overall, it's a nice, friendly neighborhood bar to hang out with friends. wish they delivered, though!

the pizza was delicious! the turkey club pizza was unexpected but very much enjoyed. thepierogiepizza was very satisfying. only complaint would be that the mixed fried veggies was nothing but fried mushrooms, but they were excellent
