i came here to eat with my vegan best friend and i am not one to be a must eat meat all the time every meal kind of guy. if a vegetarianplaceor veganplacecan do something that is outright good, ill eat it, regardless of if theres meat or not. i remember getting a table for two and unfortunately, if you read all my other reviews, i dont eat very small at all. i on average order 2-3 appetizers, 3 entrees and dessert... mostly all the time. so, this i knew from the start wasnt going to work. but lets go with the flow. i ordered the fish and chips, buffalo chiggen things or whatever theyre called, the fries, mac and cheese, root beer float.
fries: pretty good. not much i can say, fries are fries? unless you screw them up.... so i guess they didnt
mac and cheese: unfortunately for vegan, i can make it better. proven because my vegan best friend said my vegan food is pretty darn good! #nolie
buffalo chiggen things: awesome! absolutely amazing for vegan. i applaud you
fish and chips: real big miss... like real big; i dont know what happened. it was tofu wrapped in seaweed and battered and deep fried. i dont know what happened but the coating did not adhere to the seaweed and the batter was way over fried.
root beer float: i love root beer, easy sell!
its weird that thisplacewas the very old twice removed honolulu cafe. its now a hipster joint and well... its totally hipster.
id go back again for the chiggen and things maybe to try a few other things but id want to see how their consistency actually turns out in the long run.
im still undecided if my rating is final yet...
