a delightful place to enjoy a great meal. mean mr. mustard'scafeis a welcomed epicurean oasis located on 4th avenue off main street in downtown hendersonville, nc, owned and operated by experienced restauranteurs monte and diane rosemond, who are ably assisted by their friendly, competent staff (several of whom have been with them since they opened).

my friends and i have been enjoying their thoughtful menu offerings and wonderful service for more than 4 years, and we always look forward to the insouciant ambiance of the beatles-themed atmosphere filled with fab four music, memorabilia, and fantastic food.

after having such a consistently positive dining experience during my dozens of visits there, i was frankly shocked to read "rick's" negative review of dec 13th, and after a bit of digging, discovered that the author of the piece had been ejected from the restaurant and banned for life after making a huge scene during which patrons and staff were visibly upset by his rude, distasteful behavior. it is a sad truism that people like "rick" try to excuse their anti-social behavior by attempting to bad-mouth those whom they have offended.

my friends and i—professionals and business owners all—can whole-heartedly recommend mean mr. mustard'scafeas a consistently pleasant and rewarding dining adventure, and i personally hope that readers of this review will make plans to sample for themselves the rosemond's bright ingenuity and panache at mean mr. mustard'scafein the vey near future. bon appetit!

best breakfast in hendersonville, nc. we've only been to mean mr. mustard'scafefor breakfast (twice) so i can't report on lunch... but we both have hand excellent food each time. good prices. fun atmostphere. we'll be back regularly!

awesome!. i learned about mean mr. mustard'scafefrom a lovely waitress at another restaurant. i finally had the opportunity to visit by myself, and was very pleased with the atmosphere, food and service!. i have since been back with a friend, who also loved it!
whenever i find a great place to eat, i tell everyone about it, and you can be sure i've told a lot of people about this place!

walrus chicken salad sandwich. on many occasions my friend and i have visited hendersonville and each time we make a point of eating at mr. mustard's cafe. the food is absolutely out of this world, the service is terrific, the owners so friendly and we loved the muffins! we enjoyed the singing and guitar on monday,wednesday & friday. in fact, on the day of our departure we almost missed the 3pm closing when i called and asked if we could still get an order to go. i really didn't expect them to do this but they pleasantly said yes and even commented "that they knew it was me just from hearing my voice. that says lots when you have been in so often and chatted with them to the point that they know you by name. i have told many friends that love hendersonville as i do that they must visit thiscafeand they will fall in love with everything they eat. it is my far my favorite place to eat and the first stop when i get iinto town. i would eat there for lunch and dinner if they were open. i spoke to the musician and asked if he could play certain songs, which he did, and i sang along and clapped when he was done. after a while almost everyone was clapping. obviously i'm not shy and i am a"" believer in those that do a good job. these people clearly love what they do and it shows. though i was never a big beatles fan i am a total fan of mean mr. mustard's cafe. i only wish there was one close to where i lived. if they shipped their muffins i would be in heaven. compliments to all!!!! sandy adair

mean mr. mustard'scafe(neatest little place). arriving in hendersonville we sadly found that our favorite deli had closed. while shopping in mast general store we asked for a recommendation. one lady recommended mean mr. mustard's cafe. several emplyees also agreed. we went there and liked the appeal of the restaurant, were greeted with a friendly "hello' and were seated. we were given a varied and interesting menu. the food was very good with a personal touch from the chef. as we finished our meal we found out that the owner, who was the chef, and his wife were the owners. a great experience and we would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting that area of the mountains they will find an appealing atmosphere and delicious food. mike and beverly santoracharlotte, nc
