the shepherd's pie is absolutely divine and probably the best homemade dish i've ever eaten at a restaurant. the service i received was excellent and my waitress was an absolute peach. mcnamara's is high on my recommendation list!

delicious food! large servings. attentive service. the food we ate in dublin was not even close to as good as our meal at mcnamara's. fish and chips, corned beef and clam chowder were all delightful. skip the cole slaw and broccoli casserole. mac and cheese, cabbage and corn pudding were our favorite sides. don't skip this place!

worth a try. food was ok, but the irish aren't exactly known for the food. service was top. loved the live music and the do know how to properly pour a beer here!

magner's and scottish eggs, what more could you ask for? yum! the steak and guinness pie is great. i recommend adding the mashed potatoes instead of the steak fries to cut the richness. service is quick and very kid friendly as well!

so good! fish and chips are primo. batter is perfect and does not fall off the fish. tasty cod and not over-cooked. sheperd's pie with a heaping of spuds and ground beef with the right amount of spice. great joint. go!!

one of the best restaurants in nashville. never had a bad meal or bad service, always fresh and delicious. do yourself a favor and save room for the bread pudding!

irish eyes are smiling!. my irish grandmother is looking down and happy that i've found a pub like mcnamara's. here's our favorite meal (we've had it multiple times.)
let's start with a properly measured and poured pint of guinness served at the right temperature. move on to the salt and vinager kettle chips. really good. then, properly grilled fresh salmon with a really special fresh made tarter sauce. excellent. of the sides, the sweet potato fries are thick and have a lot of sweet potato flavor. the slaw is very simple (cabbage and mayo) but fresh. the corn casserole is a good change up option as are the green beans. we're too full for extras, but there's a good dessert selection too. we've always had excellent service and it goes without saying (but i will) we'll be back.

great time for my staff!. for the second year in a row, i took my staff of 17 and their spouses to mcnamara's for our annual christmas dinner. and, for the second year in a row, we had a fabulous time. we had a big party (33) and were in the sports bar upstairs. the service was great, as was the food. even with such a large party, we all got appetizers and food relatively quickly (and correctly!). most restaurants mess up with a group of 10, let alone 33!

kudos to sean and his entire staff! what a great place!

fabulous!. we have been going to nashville to visit our son and his wife for five years, and hadn't been here before. i found a new favorite place. the atmosphere was wonderful, the servers were friendly and attentive (at least one was actually irish, and loved the flow of his accent), and the food was excellent.

very pleased!!!. mcnamars's came highly recommended by the locals and i can say it did not dissapoint! i had the kettle chips with ranch dressing as an appetizer followed by the shepards pie for my main course! both were very good and i followed that up with a bailey's irish cream cheesecake that made me smile! will definitely be going back there soon!

loved it. i'm an irish girl and i love irish food! tasted exactly how my gram's made dishes growing up. except the bread pudding. don't get me wrong it was delish, but i've never had it with apples in it or served with vanilla ice cream.went kinda late, and staff was very accomodating!. waitress was awesome! decor was fantastic. food was great what more can you ask for? i didnt make it early enough to enjoy the live music tho, but im sorry i missed out.

i've been several times and the food has always been good and the service is much better now than a year ago. the only negative is that the food comes out too quickly so it's hard to get to really enjoy the atmosphere before you start eating. the corned beef is the best and the corn casserole a close runner up. finally a fun friendly place in donelson.
