i hope the owners read thus because they need to clean house and give the jobs to people who take pride in themselves and their work

kelli is 100% right. i was also there and it promoted me to write an immediate review. ill never know how the food is because their wait staff is so slow and blatently doesnt care about customers. they all need to find another profession like maybe the dmv. ive never feltmore un welcome in aplaceand im from memphis, so that says a lot

they werent professional at all. there were people standingat the door for15 min and no one so much as said we'll be with you soon and there were several empty tables. me and my buddy got up and left after no one would even look at us. very poor and inexperienced management obvioisly, as well as terrible servers

hidden in the hills.... was a pot of gold!
no, not really, but there was a magical pint of mcmenamins irish dry stout to toast on a sunny saint patrick's day! it was a good day to hook up with a couple of old friends and head out to this "hidden" tavern in the rural hills of portlandia. we arrived shortly after 1'oclock greeted by green clad lads & lasses. they invited us to sit anywhere and we quickly took a table by the fireplace. this structure is a testimony to mcmenamins passion for historic property and restoration efforts. you'll just have to come here and experience this aspect for yourself.
after being seated we got menus soon enough but it was some time before another server came bay. thankfully we were here to visit and not on a tight schedule. this was really the only knock on them today. they were fairly busy and the bartender made up for the wait by deducting the drinks from our tab so i'll give him credit for being aware of the situation. that aside we did eventuallyplaceour lunch orders. one friend had the fish and chips. no complaints here but nothing noteworthy either. my other friend enjoyed the hoghead salmon sandwich much to his delight. my choice was the portland dip. this involved a "hot turkey sandwich with grilled mushrooms, swiss cheese, & secret sauce on a rustic french roll with garlic jus for dipping". a nice change from your usual french dip to be sure. the tomato basil soup was very good too. (i was guilty of dipping once or twice there too...) this coupled with the aforementioned stout made for a most enjoyable afternoon.
as we were leaving we explored just a bit upstairs and outside. the mushroom theme is prominent here and like most their establishments it's embellished with years gone by. another interesting note is the power pole by the outside dinning patio. it has certainly seen better days. soon we were heading home and we all agreed this would be a fineplaceto return to but not before we experienced the cornelius pass roadhouse & imbrie hall just to the south along the same road. cheers!

hey, greatplaceto chill! food is basic and good! took the family and chilled outside and just had a good time. i also ate at the full sail brewery and rock creek has got them on the food but nothing compares to the full sail beers. i can't wait to eat at the rock creek tavern again!

you never go to a mcmennamins when in a hurry as the staff is typically less than quick. but, the beer, fries and food general more than make up for this. rock creek, in particular, is fantastic because of the location. no betterplacein portland to grab lunch when the sun is out and the air warm!
