saturday happy hour

we went to m&s for appetizers and drinks. we ordered 2 rounds of apps and were pleased with the portions. we sat in the bar area which had a good atmosphere. above all, we were pleased to find a saturday happy hour!

an attractive space with private booths, well-situated near many attractions.the menu offers many choices including combination platters. good service. dessert menu is a bit over the top.

always tasty. my dad and i stopped in on 9/10/14 and had a wonderful dinner. convention goers filled the place, but we still got a last minute table. he had oysters on the half shell as appetizer and i had the tuna tartare which was wonderful. for dinner we had a wild sockeye salmon entree and a sesame crusted tuna steak. very tasty. dinner was made more enjoyable by our waiter, jay, who gave us the best service we have experienced in quite some time. 2nd year in a row we've gone during layover in chicago and we'll do it again next chance we get.

the fish place. mick mick, as a friend and i call it. a march friday night at 8:30pm we were there.

we start with calamari. it was very good but i remember the tomato and lemon sauce more than the calamari. i use all the bread to clean off the sauce from the cups. they were gooooooooood.

pretzel crusted whitefish for the main. when the plate arrive, i remember i said to myself the portion was pretty big. the fish was excellent. it was fresh and has the texture of a fish and it was cooked just right. soft and smooth. i usually only eat chinese style steam fish with head and eyes. i do eat the eye balls just because they are smooth and runny. so if a fish is slightly over cooked, i will complaint. this whitefish pass the test with swimming color. fish can't fly, you know. :-)

creme burlee and an single shot espresso to wrap up the evening. it was a tiny bit too sweet but with the espresso to balance it, it was prefect.

the place was comfortable enough to enjoy a good dinner with friends. at their peak hour, it may be a bit noisy but we had no trouble talking to each other. if i come across another mick mick at other places, i will eat there again.

amazing. although a little pricey, dinner entrees will run you anywhere from $20-40 the food was amazing. ordered the salmon and tuna dishes which were cooked magnificently. the service was fast, friendly and very helpful. and a must try is the creme brulee. for a measly $5.95 this dessert was a decent portion size and was easily the best creme brulee i have ever come across.

good food... bad service. it seems to me that this restaurant is more interested in getting you seated than a quality dining experience. also the slowest valet ever

unique. i was impressed with the various seafood dishes they offer. many of the selections are paired with unique sauces and sides that you would not readily see at other restaurants.

i enjoyed the blackened catfish with horseradish and wine sauce, and my wife was impressed with her grouper and asparagus. the lobster tails are overpriced, however and are nothing above par.

the service is great and the circular table layout works well. parking is a hassle though so make sure to get valet.
