friday nights are a must. i live locally, and we routinely meet up on friday nights at mck's. they almost always have live irish-pub themed entertainment friday night (a pair called pickin' kind - http://www.myspace.com/pickinkind) which encourages singing along to the pub songs and general merriment.
as far as food, the corned beef chowder is to die for!
