mark's bistro

they didn't have pancakes, so i got the house burger. i wanted to get their amazing sous-vide steak with whiskey sauce that i had the last time i came here, but they don't serve that during lunch i guess. too bad, that steak is still seared into my memory as one of the best, maybe the best, steaks i've ever had.

so let's talk about that house burger. got that thing medium-rare, cause i'm not a plebeian. overall, and now keep in mind this is coming from just having recently eaten farnam house's burger - overall, this burger was pretty decent. i mean, it'll put mcdolan's to shame any day, but can it bat in the same league as farnam house? nah. actually, my bud got the sliders, and i was more impressed by those than the house burger. so if you're between those two for lunch, pick up the sliders.

now, the atmosphere is rad, so no knock there. my friends and i were easily outclassed by the attire and overall upper-middle-class-stuffiness exuding from the nearby patrons. you might not go in cargo shorts and a t-shirt. or, you might just be so self-assured as to go in gym shorts and sandals, i mean isn't dress code kind of arbitrary anyway? you do you, and them do them. let's all just do us.

this place hasgreatcoffee though. i was pleasantly surprised. blue line coffee, which is next door. good stuff, applause. oh, and get those bistro tots. first off, was ever a more cute name for an appetizer thought of? bistro tots, ahah! you can't say that without giggling. but man, get them! tater tots have no business being this good. but with how saturated in butter and garlic they are, it's no wonder. i'd eat cotton balls if they had as much butter and garlic infused into them as these tots do.

i'm conflicted over how to rate this place. my last visit was legendary...the steak, the bistro tots, the french onion soup. but that was a long time ago, and i wanted to review this place afresh. and so based on this visit, and particularly based upon the house burger, it wasn't the grand showing i had hoped for. i hope to revisit someday and re-experience the former glory, like that of the more aged levites weeping for the former glory of the temple in ezra's day.

have had lunch at mark's a few times in the past few months and been very pleased, each time! both service and food has given exactly to expectations!greatsoups, salads, risottos, etc.

went to mark's bistro for a family dinner. the food was wonderful as usual, and i always love the cozy feel of the place. service could have been a bit more attentive and engaged, but all in all, agreatvisit!

prom, graduation, random meals- we’ve spent them all at marks. we started with their bread spread trio- which consisted of sun-dried tomato pesto, spinach pesto and herb-feta cheese spread. all three dips were delicious and full of flavour, but our favourite was definitely the feta spread. for mains i got their pad thai with tofu, (it’s vegan!) alex had the quiche of the day, and my brother had their renowned mac & cheese. i’m always delighted with the pad thai here- it turns out better than what i get in many thai restaurants, and alex was pleased with his quiche. and the mac & cheese…let’s just say that after hating mac & cheese for 17 years, this is the one that changed my mind. it’s cheesy, covered in a perfect amount of crunchy breadcrumbs, and just simply delicious. marks is agreatspot for a

qualtiy wasn't the same.... no consistency and we had the same meals! only vegetable in my pad thai was julienned carrots...nothing like captain napkins picture! there was only 3 pieces of tofu! i had this dish before and it was awesome....but disappointing tonight. we also had the beet salad and lasagna again but they were bland and it wasn't like that before. the only things we liked were the hummus, our eclectic server, and the ambience. thank goodness for the wine also!

impressed!. excellent gluten free options and even crackers so i don't feel left out! we had hummus, beet salad, smoked chicken lasagna, pad thai, chocolate mousse, and flourless chocolate torte with pistachio butter. everything was wonderful. we also had agreatbottle fo wine-loved the selection. customer service wasgreatand loved the atmosphere.

cozy comfy atmosphere and food. the atmosphere isgreatat mark's. it's very comfy and cozy yet stylish and elegant. the menu had my favorite comfort foods including mac n cheese & bread pudding. i actually ordered the pad thai but tried my friends macaroni. i loved both. i ordered a bread pudding before i left and took it to go. i had to have one bite while it was warm. not the best i've had in omaha; in fact, i think i could have made it better. other than the badly done bread pudding, i enjoyed my dining experience and would definately go again.

i'll be back.... what agreatlocation overlooking underwood avenue. they have a good wine selection, and agreatmix on the menu. i've had the smoked chicken lasagne, the mac & cheese with havarti, asiago, & blue cheese. both dishes were awesome.

it's a little spendy, but well worth it.

world famous mac and cheese! met my boyfriend at their bar and now we are engaged so i obviously love it haha but seriously cool viewgreatfood and bonus is the cute art gallery to stroll thru downstairs if you like local art!

hideaway bistro. my husband and i just ate at mark's bistro in the dundee area and loved it! we loved the patio that's hidden away from the street and it's decor. lovely area and it helped that the weather was wonderful too! i had the special which was bouillabaisse with a puff pastry and my husband had their mac & cheese. he was not thrilled with the mac and cheese, a little bland, but not bad. mine wasgreatand i would order it again. the cheese tray appetizer was very good along with the wine that we ordered.
