marcel is an excellent bartender: funny, generous with the booze, attentive without being pushy. i didn't like the "big apple mule," as i felt the tart apple didn't go well with the ginger beer flavor. the moscow mules were delicious, however, and came in copper mugs.

the food is delicious! they have "pizza rolls" made of pesto, salami, and mozzarella with a balsamic reduction on the side. so delicious! the flavors perfectly blended together. their "best appetizer" (according to my dinner mates) is the limoncello wings. tart, sweet, and garlicky, they were pretty good! the spinach and artichoke dip disappointed a little. there was less cheese and much less garlic than the kind of dip we're used to. the pita slices that came with it were pillowy and an excellent complement. the nutella pizza was the chewy pita bread stuffed with melted nutella. a tasty way to end a happy hour!

i love marcos coal fired pizza. the staff always seem to enjoy themselves, each other and their guests. the gluten-free option for the pizza is great, and tasted delicious.

excellent. so i have been in the denver area for almost three weeks on business. i am an east coast guy. i am very particular about my pizza, so i decided to test the denver area. this place wins. no doubt. great pie and service.

i do not normally post to these sites but i feel obligated to give my opinion of the pizza in denver.

hope this helps.

over priced undercooked.. servers were nice but disorganized. we came in with a large party and it was a fiasco. the limoncello wings were tasteless. the pizza was undercooked and extremely overpriced. sloppy doughy crust from a coal fired oven? $16 dollars for a personal sized pizza. typical overpriced downtown crap.

marco's clearly offers authentic pizza cooked in their imported fire ovens. i love that you can taste the freshness in their ingredients and even though i may not be an expert in pizza making, i can tell you that their pizza crust is as good as it gets. it's cooked to perfection!

comfortable atmosphere, excellent pizza, and superb service only begins to describe marco’s coal-fired pizzeria. marco’s has been a family favorite pizza spot in denver for a few years so when they invited me in to review their brunch, ecstatic barely described the extent of my excitement. marco’s has not appeared on here yet only because every time i go, i am so excited to eat the rich pizza with melt-in-your mouth crust, somehow it disappears from my plate before i can take a picture! since lilly sue’s bites and brews is all about the visual appeal, i cannot post without the enticing photos marco’s coal-fired pizza serves brunch 11 am to 3 pm saturdays and sundays with $3 bloody mary’s and $10 bottomless mimosas. steering away from the typical bloody mary, they add a special ingredient: murphy’s irish stout. could i fall more in love- a bloody mary, my favorite brunch cocktail, and beer?! using tabasco

before having babies, my wife and i used to do a lot of nice things. one of those things was going to eat pizza from marco's coal fired pizzeria. since having babies, however, we have been shy to return, because while my wife and i might appreciate the subtleties of a well prepared pizza, my twin toddlers have been seen eating fruit that has fallen into the sandbox out of another kid's mouth. suffice to say, they are not exactly impressed that marco's is the only pizza joint in town certified by l'associazione vera pizza napoletana , and so if they are happy eating 99-cent tacos off of the street , who am i to drag them into a fancy pizzeria? and most of my readers probably already know how good marco's is, so from a blogging perspective, with all those top of the town and best-of accolades , who cares what i think? now usually i pose that as a rhetorical question, because with my mother and wife becoming more and more underwhelmed with my repeated rants and raves about food, the real
