doesn't live up to its reputation. our experience at manny's was not great. being the firsttimevisiting minneapolis, we were looking forward trying this famous steakhouse. however, the steaks we had were well below our expectations - i ordered a median rare porterhouse and my fiance' ordered a median rare half bludgeon of beef (the full one is their biggest steak - 50oz bone-in rib-eye). our steaks both came out rare, with cold center (the only cooked part was the very top and bottom) and hard to cut (especially my fiance's steak, with lots of veins in it), they were only lightly marinate too. after 2 minutes, i had to stop because it was cold and dry, and it hurt my finger just trying to slice it. after they took other tables' steak away, i saw almost the same thing - other people had only cut off and ate the top layer.
the enormous truffle fries and creamed spinach sides were mediocre. and our gigantic key lime pie was extremely sour.
despite the food quality, the service was great and the wine we got was really good.
as a steakhouse, i really think it is overpriced for the quality and doesn't live up to its claim as the top 5 steakhouse in the country. if they had been in the business that long then they must have done something right before; maybe others' review about the quality going downhill in the recent years were valid explanations.
