mandarin restaurant - barrie

first visit. as a retired chef of over 1/2 a century. i had occasion to go to themandarinin barrie ontario. words fail me ! ! ! this establishment was absolutely marvellous.
the buffet. well presented, 4 soups countless hot selections of seafood meats and vegetables. rice both steamed and fried, noodles, far to many items to list here.
the experience of this restaurant was overwhelming. the staff were very helpful, extremely polite and smiling continually. for seniors the prices are a bargain as discounted prices for this buffett are daily upon presentation of id.
as i started this review i end with this description which i do not give lightly. the experience of themandarinwas out of this world, delightful, delicious and just plain terrific. well done a definite return is on my agenda next time i visit southern ontario.

the staff were very nice and obviously you can't expect the same staff to keep checking on you at a buffet but the staff here were pretty consistent and did a good job checking on everyone making sure we were all happy and the place was packed! but the staff were great and always had a smile and made sure as soon as we finished a drink to refill it or as soon as a plate was cleared they were right there to pick it up. much better than themandarinbuffet in toronto.

good but not great. i have foundmandarinto have pretty good food usually. just not this location it would seem. the food always seems over cooked and soggy. plus, i recently ordered take out with friends and the order was so horribly wrong that i don't think i will bother with the take out ever again.

gross. i have been tomandarinmany times and my experiences have always been below average.
