mamma mia this was bad. mamma mia was a real "downer". three of us went to make the best of a busy day. my daughter ordered vodkarigatoniand we ordered two other dishes. after the salads, which were mediocre at best, the hot food arrived. my daughter'srigatonicame, with meat, and she is vegetarian. she told the waitress that she couldn't eat it - she doesn't eat meat. the waitress took a confrontational approach and went to get a menu to see if the selection did, indeed state prosciutto. as she read the menu to us, she agreed that it didn't have the meat stated on the menu. we said that we'd make do with the meals on the table (i had a vegetarian meal as i do not eat meat). as we finished our meal the waitress brought a "specially made" vodkarigatoniwithout meat. the chef had made it for her. but guess what? we had already eaten, had said that we would make do with what was hot and on the table, and our meal was finished. to our surprise we were charged for this "specially made" meal. i protested and the charge was taken off the bill. i did have to pay $3.95 for the miserably small and unexciting salad. when we left the restaurant the owner asked how things were. i was honest and said that it wasn't special. he was shocked that i was not pleased with getting the meatless meal taken off the bill and given the "specially prepared"rigatonifree. it was insulting. but he did not understand my reaction. it was not a pleasant experience and we won't be going back.
