like i said, it’s an old favourite. the laksa is fantastic with just the right amount of oily spiciness and creamy coconut.

easily the best laksa i've had. if you go on a weekday lunchtime, be prepared for a queue out the door (although it moves quickly). not expensive either, around $10. wish they delivered!

i would love to own this business!. further to my review 1 year ago, i returned today. i ordered hainan chicken, which comes served with rice, veggies and soup. needless to say, it was perfectly cooked. my mate had a prawn and chicken laksa which he polished off happliy and easily. the laksa takes some skill fressing without mess. i heartily recommend a paper bib for an extra $.50 - far less than the dry cleaning bill and cute for photos posted on to facebook. this place gets packed early and throughout lunch. high turnover of tables and money. well worth a visit.

unusual fish in the tank. whilst the fish in the tank reminds me of the steve martin movie, "man with two brains", that's the only unusual thing about the feeding bowl of what looks like half of the sydney cbd. i'd love to own a share in this business. high turnover of clientèle - average stay must be under 30 mins. the food as a result is fresh. i typically go for a steamed chook with rice and chinese veges. it's a meal enough to last until din-dins. others go for laksa - seems the majority. wendy is always friendly whereas her mum?? seems like she was born in the year of the dragonlady! i return frequently enough to admire the consistence and the cash going through this business. oh, and say hi to to the weird fish with two brains in the tank. gregfresser

i enjoyed it so much that i came extremely close to going back for a second bowl! overall, an awesome laksa - i don't know how i managed to stay away for so long. soup : it is as spicy and tasty as ever- with a smooth texture from having the right mix of coconut milk& stock chilli : excellent level of chilli (with extra chilli and sambal) crappy picture which does not do this delicious laksa justice. forgive me. location

the highlight of the laksa was the super creamy and oily soup which was like a coconuty nectar of the gods. the chicken laksa had heaps of chicken skin (you can order laksa without chicken skin for $1 extra) and really good tofu.

it is often considered the benchmark for its curry laksa and har mee (prawn mee). i have tasted quite a few bowls of har mee at the different malaysian restaurants in sydney, by far this is my favourite place for a har mee fi

disappointed. my husband and i decided to give this place a try after reading rave reviews about their laksa. our first impression was a bad one because of the extremely rude and dishonest lady at the cashier. she gave me incorrect change, and when i told her about it, she insisted that she was right and told me to move along.

as for the food, the first few spoonfuls of noodles and soup were decent. however, after a few more spoonfuls, the laksa started to taste bland and a bit boring. the soup had too much coconut milk, which caused my meal to sit like a rock in my stomach for the rest of the day.

we won't be coming back.

everything everyone says it is!. this place is delicious!! not a romantic meal but a quick and satifying lunch/dinner by far! the laksa is by far the best i have ever had - i refuse to order laksa anywhere else because this is the best! the ingredients are fresh - even on the way to the bathroom u can see a thick bubbling pot of fresh broth. this place goes off! everyone loves it... i highly recommend this - seriously - go!

the best laksa in sydney. no matter what anyone else says about travelling further to get a good laksa, this is the best chicken laksa in sydney. ask for mixed noodles (white and yellow combined)

top laksa in cbd. this place came highly reccommended for it's laksa and it doesn't disappoint. make sure you add the home made chilli sauce and a few fiery pickled jalepenos.

one or two curries look good too. one day i'll resist the laksa and try it.

the laksa is the most expensive in sydney as well, starts with a base of approx $9 i think, then you have to add veg and meat. i ususally go for skinless chicken and veg. total $10.70. with skin wasn't my cup of tea as there is more skin and grissle than meat.

it gets rammed most days and fridays especially. worth the wait though.

i'll have to find this dixon place in chinatown one reviewer mentioned. if it's in one of the food coursts there that specialises in laksa only, then that place is pretty good. it used to be the place we went for laksa. but this place on hunter st kills it!

it's friday and i'm going there now :o)

big hype around this place, and having to fight for a lunch-time table was a good sign. however, the unanimous verdict on the laksa was disappointing. over-powered by curry powder, which made it a bit of a chore after several spoonfuls. i'm still yet to top the dixon centre in chinatown.

one sweltering hot lunchtime i met up with mum at malay-chinese takeaway since i was craving some malaysian food. i don’t know who said that eating hot food on a hot day would make you cooler but it certainly didn’t work for me! although i thought i was semi-delusional for choosing to eat hot and spicy food on a hot summer’s day the food was so good that it was worth it in the end.

definitely the best laksa in sydney. friendly staff and they let you fill your bowl with as many jalapenos as you can manage! awesome! don't expect to get a seat at 12pm tho... this place is popular!
