first off; it isn’t a diner, it’s a cafe. it’s small and quaint, but tastefully done. service was pretty good considering the area. i ordered the dailybreakfastspecial of country fried steak and gravy with eggs, home fries and toast. the eggs were perfectly cooked as ordered, the steak however was good, but the breading was to heavy and not cooked long enough so it became a soggy mess. it needed just a little longer in the deep fryer. the pre cooked home fries i could have done without, they were cold and soft. the toast was fantastic!

my dad is really, really picky. when he visits me in dc, he isn't into fancy dinners or brunches, and in dupont it's often hard to find a place that both he and my mom will like! luckily there's luna, where he can get a good, traditionalbreakfastat a reasonable price. every time i've been the food has been good, the wait bearable (it's popular on the weekends), and the coffee quickly refilled.

good location. i went to luna grill recently while i was staying at the rouge. the prices were ok, not cheap but not nearly as high as the hotel, and it was open fairly early. the servers were very nice, but once they brought out my food they disappeared. my eggs benedict was good, but thebreakfastpotatoes were disgusting. the flavors were good but they were very mushy. shortly after my food was delivered, i finished my coffee. i put more half and half in the bottom and placed it to the side of my table, but it was never refilled, even though there were more servers than customers in the restaurant. for that reason i did not go back.
