the best food. this is the best place for fresh seafood,and greate service.i had a great time,and enjoyed the total expereance.the orysters were greate.the crab soup was excelent.

i love this place. there's nothing better then finding your favorite place to hang out. mine is lucky oyster.i'm not a huge lover of seafood, but whatever i do eat is always so delicious.
i love their sunday brunch with the bloody mary buffet. and captain lucky drink.
i never eat desserts in restaurants, but i have to have snickers pie when i'm there. definitely go check it out!

good food and attentive service. but it always takes a bit for the meal to be served. worth the trip unless you are ina hurry.

mothers day ruined. i don't think we will ever go their again, there were five of us in our party. we were seated at a table for six in the back, the top of the table was very sticky, like the finish was bad or it hadn't been cleaned properly. the waitress took our drink orders and served them promptly and we placed our food orders. then we waited a full hour. the waitress came by and told us that our order would be up shortly several times. after an hour four of our party were served, but my food would be up shortly.the waitress asked if i wanted to talk to the manager, i told her "only if he has my food with him" i really should have registered a complaint. in about 15 minutes my food arrived. i had ordered a
flounder and scallop combo. bad choice i received a piece of flounder about the size of a playing card and 5 scallops. not what i had expected for $18.99. although i live quite close, i can't imagine my returning for more abuse.

nasty waitress. happy hour yesterday for three girlfriends after work. we are nice, friendly, professional women. we were very happy to be there, very upbeat! we like happy hours, we usually stay a couple of hours, spend some good $$'s. our waitress was the rudest individual imaginable. she really brought us down! it was a chore for her to take our order and serve us drinks and food. really unacceptable. we work hard for our money, and there are alot of choices in this area - this will be x'd from our list. the food was not great either. why go back when there are so many other choices? what a let down.

ruined mother's day dinner. i've patronized this local seafood restaurant for several years and was always satisfied with the level of service until now. i have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant in my entire life. i called ahead for reserve seating since i was planning on bringing a large party (9 people) for a mothers day dinner. i requested we receive two large booths to accommodate the two families to which the hostess responded, "no problem, see you in 15 minutes". we arrived early and immediately were greeted with very cold stares. without asking if we had reservations, a middle-aged woman glared at me and said coldly, "the wait is going to be 1/2 hour". i stated that we had called ahead and made a reservation and a younger female asked for my name and looked on the reservation list finding the reservation. at this point there are 5 people behind the hostess stand and two people who appeared to have managerial positions. for some reason they were all staring at us strangely. after a moment of awkwardness one lady escorted us to a seating area that consisted on two tables with seating for 8. i was surprised and mentioned to the lady who escorted us that we had requested teh larger booths which can accommodate about 6 adults each. the same rude middle-aged woman was nearby and overheard my comment and responded that they had no available booths despite me spotting several empty ones in the restaurant. at this point we had the attention of several patrons in the restaurant because several of us were still standing waiting for seats. while we were still standing a waitress actually came over and asked us if we were ready for beverages to which i responded that we intended to leave. at this point with 9 people preparing to leave and obviously distressed about the service, a manager comes over and says that they would try and accommodate us if we would wait for booths to become available but at that point it was more damage control. i was very embarrassed because some in my company had traveled from d.c. for mothers day and were looking forward to some local seafood. even while leaving the restaurant i caught a few cold stares from the hostesses and a shrug of the shoulder from the middle -aged woman who appeared confused as to why we were intent on leaving. an absolutely horrid mothers day experience and i plan on following this review up with a visit to the lucky oyster to speak with the manager and express my disgust with the service. they seem very judgmental about their customers. the tragedy is i've lived in the area since 1997 and am a military veteran with 10 years of service to date. without patrons like me this place would have a very limited customer base for this area. it's a shame when you walk into a restaurant in the year 2011 and feel like you've been magically time-warped to a jim crow 1950's segregated establishment.

oh my goodness what is not to love!! the service was amazing with everyone with a smile and kindness. the food was so very flavorful and perfect portion amount. loved the decor and such a family friendly environment. it is a must to go eat here and will soon be a favorite that you keep going back to visit!! ♥️

good solid seafood, accommodating staff. came here with friends with special dietary needs, and waitress put dressing and cheese on the side, dropped the side potatoes and added more broccoli. very decent crab cake without filler, sautéed spinach was smooth and flavorful. salad nothing special, but tasty vinaigrette . felt the steamed shrimp was overcooked and a bit dry.

weekly visits to lucky o. people talk about the crowd because it's that good. the dining area may get full but the bar can be packed. i've never had a time we couldn't get seated. service is still great when they're at capacity. happy hours deals are really affordable. i love sitting at the raw bar and getting oysters on the half shell. if you like classic american dishes and/or raw bars, check this place out.

unfortunately, the bar area is always packed. my wife and i are "bar people" particularly for the raw bar. however, we have had to leave the last 6 times in a row due to lack of seating anywhere in the bar area. they need a bigger bar area.

besides the crowd the lucky oyster was great! i was surprised at the size of my scallops in the scallop basket which was a new menu item. also, they were cooked perfectly which is hard for most restaurants to get right. the "treble hook" basket had generous portions as well. the waitress was nice and attentive. we will be back.

shrimp app?. don't get the new shrimp appetizer for $9.99 on the new inserted menu. you would think that a shrimp appetizer would have at least 6 decent size shrimp, not in this case. you get 4 small shrimp probably 41/50s, the buffalo blue cheese dipping sauce was good but the dish it came in was enough sauce for a couple dozen wings. wish i took a picture!!!

always a good experience. this is a nice family seafood restaurant. i've been going to luck oyster a couple time a month for a couple of years now and it's always a positive experience. of course there may be a wait sometimes because they are so popular but you can always get a table in the bar area. i've never had to wait. the food is always hot and tasty and the service friendly. one of the best places to eat at the interior of virginia beach.
