luce cucina italiano

might just have to give up on this place. we found luce's a few years back. since then it became our go to italian restaurant, good cheap food. over the last year or so this place has been going down hill. at one point they tried to offer delivery. it was a gamble whether or not they were offering it when you called. onetimei decided to just pick up an order, was told to be there at a certain time. i showed up and one of my pizza's had not even been started (i was told by the hostess that kitchen wasn't paying attention, no wonder the chef had ear phones in). prices have also seemed to rise and quality gone down (if they even have the item desired). last thing i ordered was chicken parm. the chicken was good but the spaghetti was nasty. the waitress asked me what i thought so i told her. she said that was odd since the sauce was the same on both, but when i looked at my spaghetti the sauce was much thinner. that was when it dawned on me, they didn't bother to properly drain my noodles and so i was really eating watered down spaghetti.

eat before arriving!. the food here was okay, a little oily for my taste. the wait was extremely long. had a party of 4 and waited over an hour for our entrees and waiting thirty minutes for appetizers (which were actually better than the entrees). after i spoke with a few friends, i was told it's customary for "the wait" in an authentic italian restaurant because you are suppose to enjoy family/friends and wine while waiting. italian restaurants are suppose to be more about enjoying the company of others.. i'm not exactly sure how true this is, but it's what i've been told. anyway, give it a try, the atmosphere is great for couples, but i advise, please eat before going because you're food won't come anytimesoon.

their food flat out sucks. everytimei have given this joke of a restaurant a chance, it's the same crap: mushy pasta and runny, tasteless sauce that somehow leaves the most atrocious after-taste in my mouth. not quality food at all. tastes like something a five year old made. if you like their food, you clearly have no tastebuds. nasty crap. very surprised this place hasn't gone out of business! po-dunk lexington needs to get a real italian restaurant.

marginal quality-try all star instead. i reviewed luce's back in may, and since then have found the wonderful all star italian restaurant just down the street which is an alltimefavorite. wound up at luce's on monday when all star is closed hoping the management fixed the issues reviewers on this site have listed. unfortunately, the place was empty, the service was still slow (but friendly), and the food was marginal at best. spaghetti sat in a plate of water and the garlic knots were raw in the middle. good iced tea is a staple in all southern restaurants and here it tasted as if it had sat in the dispenser for a week. iceberg lettuce salad doesn't work in a place wanting to be known for fine food. this place is a big disappointment yet again.

ok food, terrible service. been to luce's several times, usually am one of only a few in the place so don't know how it stays in business. the food is decent, not great, but the service is lousy. expect to sit for awhile to get your food and you will be lucky if your order is accurate. almost everytimethey are either out of something or it isn't as described. the portions are good size except for dessert and forget using coupons or deal savers. you will get a hassle trying to use them and all the exclusions are not disclosed until you order as they are not on the coupon. i won't be back as it is too much hassle to eat there and the food isn't worth the trip.

bad experience again. not sure what is going on here but always willing to give a second chance.
we used to be regulars here, not so much anymore. lasttimethe stromboli was missing my requested ingredients. we took the family sunday evening and the garlic knots truly were not baked. they waitress took the knots back minus the 3 that some of us had taken to eat. they put them back in the oven & burnt them, returned the partial order to the table and didn't replace the under cooked knots ones that were on the table & remained uneaten.the alfredo sauce on the noodles was missing the cheese on one order, on another order the marina sauce on the pasta noodles had a vinegar taste (bad??) the owner / manager should have taken the price of the garlic knots off the order at a minimum, given a credit for the least expensive meal, offered dessert.....but nothing. we still have gift cards for the restaurant and i will most likely let them expire. i will spend mytimeand money right down the street at a good all star italian eatery.

my wife and i went to luce last week on a whim. we were pleasantly surprised. we told the server it was our firsttimethere, and she was very friendly and accommodating. we ordered the garlic cheese knots, which were incredible, for an appetizer. my wife ordered the baked spaghetti, and i ordered the luce's pasta. we were both pleased with our meals. for dessert, we had the lava cake, also satisfying. we will be going back.

good food poor management. i went to luce's for the firsttimesoon after it opened and was very impressed with the food. that's what kept me coming back. but after several bad experiences, i have to find good italian food elsewhere. after wrong order with a fly, slow service and my friends waiting 2 hours to be served (don't know why they waited) just because they had a group of 15, the food is no longer enough to bring me back. very poorly managed restaurant.

poor. my daughter and i went out for a father daughter dinner, and decided we would try luce cucina. i ordered the chicken alfrado, the sauce had no flavor what so ever, and was very runny, and the chicken was dry, when i said something to my server she said "a lot of people say that, but i will let the manager know." i went back a few weeks later and decided i would try it again, the food was the same, nothing changed. still very bland. however thistimei was able to expierence the manager yelling at his servers like they were his children. that was no not professional at all. the female server acted as though she was used to being yelled at by them. the owners of this place should be ashamed of themselvesm, and get they butt off their shoulders, and fix the problems your customers complain about. this place could be an awesome place, if they cared. i wouldnt waste mytimegoing there. you can get the same food from a chef boyardee can.

great italian fare with price and service to match. i have been visiting luce's for a while now and have never had a bad experience. onetimei had to wait a while for a take out order, but the staff was courteous and i was compensated for the wait. other than that one time, everything has always been great in both service and quality. every dish i have had has been great tasting and you can't beat the price! their new cheesy garlic knots are marvelous, and i recommend the brooklyn bridge pizza (i add chicken and banana peppers, but it is great as listed on the menu as well).
