longboards wraps & bowls

yummy yummy!. a beloved restaurant with two locations in the kansas city area. the distinctive eating location is full of flavor not only in its food, but also in the décor. stepping into the restaurant, you’re immediately thrown onto the beach. all landlocked customers of kansas city can appreciate the surfboards, lei’s and island adornments lining the walls.
as delightful as the decorations are, the food is the hot topic. hot noodle bowls, cool style wraps, hawaiian sliders, flat breads and grilledwrapswith warm sear marks keep customers coming back. the sides are scrumptious as well and include, potato salads, rice and their very reputably crispy maui onion chips.
some of the top meals are the cabo chicken wrap, with guacamole, pepperjack, pico de gallo and chipotle chicken grilled to perfection. another favorite is the spicy krab wrap, which includes peanuts, pepperjack, rice, sriracha, and spicy chinese sauce. children’s meals are also available.
the speed of service is great as well. you walk up to the register, order, pay, then sit and wait about five minutes and your food is ready to dive into. each wrap is wrapped in foil to hold in the fresh heat. the drinks are all self-serve.
longboards prices are fairly low as well. they range from $5.75 to about $11. with low prices and great food, there really isn’t a reason to not get a taste of the islands. the only difference is the restaurant is pretty chilly inside. if the air-conditioner was turned down, longboards would be just about perfect.

i love longboard. thewrapsare so original . the cabo is my favorite. they make use of interesting ingredients. the noodle bowls do need improved. great staff at both locations. aloha

awesomewrapsexcept for one thing. i love longboards' wraps. the cabo beef/chicken are my favorite, as is the case for many other customers. other than the long wait times, the main complaint that i have about longboards is the fact that theirwrapsoften come with deep "charred marks" (see pictures) which, other than not tasting very good, are also unhealthy due to the acrylamides that are produced during the grilling process. i wish they would stop grilling them so long and i bet that they would still taste just as great!

by far, without exaggerating, the best grilledwrapsin kc. i've tried six differentwrapsand was impressed with each. the menu is quite extensive. great service. a great vibe for atmosphere. i call it polynesian gangsta, but very family friendly. new store in liberty is very anticipated and a larger facility. do yourself a favor and get there asap.

so good the 1st time i went back the next day!. yesterday i had the pork luau: pork, pepper jack cheese, pineapple, broccoli, peas, peppers, white rice and teriyaki sauce on a grilled to perfection honey wheat burrito style wrap. today i went back for the teriyaki grill: chicken (beef is another option), mozzarella, broccoli, peas, peppers, white rice and teriyaki sauce on a honey wheat burrito style wrap. the teriyaki sauce was sweet and lightly peppered, not sugary. the honey wheat wrap was toasty, not the least bit doughy or chewy, and filled with tasty goodness from end to end. i'm a real light weight and pretty finicky when it comes to eating, but i happily polished off my wrap in no time and momentarily contemplated licking the wrapper it came in.

as for the staff, they're wonderful. everyone is friendly and happy to answer any questions you might have about the menu. i've only been there during lunch hour, but even at their busiest time everyone (including the customers) was super nice. obviously the wait is going to be a little longer than at a fast food chain, but the food, value and overall experience is worth it. the only drawback is deciding what to try.

by the way, besides grilledwrapsthey have "cool" deli style wraps, options for vegetarians, smallerwrapsfor kids, hot noodle bowls, salads, and some very good house made sides.

no hype.. previous reviewers are not exaggerating. this place is amazing. not being a huge fan ofwrapsfor so many reasons--primarily that they tend to be soggy wads of mess a few bites in and require a fork to eat--i was slightly apprehensive but we had dinner there last night and if hubby suggests we go back tonight i'll be there. food was fresh, saucing was perfect and hawaiian shaved ice was heavenly on the 98 degree day. and let's discuss the service/employees...a dream. friendly and helpful. they come out to greet you and take your order, answer questions and patiently await your decision. i've never been to such a packed restaurant where the vibe is so calm; everyone's working or waiting purposefully but with a zen like calm. love it.

tonight was my first time in longboards, and i am making it a regular stop now. these are not your typical wraps, if you are tired of the same chain restarauntwrapsthen you really need to stop in and see these guys.

when i look at a longboards wrap i see a little wrapped up piece of heaven. i have had very fewwrapsthat u don't like, but i would recommend cabo beef, hot turkey, or parmesan turkey for first timers. never get the same wrap twice in a row!

they have grilled and coldwrapshere and grilled flatwrapswith something called og which seem to be bigger wraps. you can combo anything for about $8 which gets you a side and drink.

i'm placing my vote in the middle of eating. it's that good. even though they dowrapsand bowls, their variety on the menu will keep making first-timers into repeat-offenders.

longboards has greatwrapsand prices! will definately be going back.
