lola's burrito joint

delicious!. my hubs and i stopped in today for lunch and oh boy! lunch was awesome! we had ears of corn (incredible) nachos (layers of yumminess) tacos (shrimp and carnitas) and a cuban burrito. all were fantastic! the bloody margarita was kinda fruity, not too tomato-y, a nice surprise. portions were large, brought home lots of leftovers. my man complained that there were too many onions in his cuban burrito, but he still brought it home. our waiter, paul, was pleasant and knowledgable. the restaurant was really cool and everyone was very friendly and helpful. we sat under the tv and they graciously turned the volume down. there is a great patio out front. we will definitely return!

really good food!!!. i had a hankering for mexican tonight and my husband told me about lola's. it's more than just a mexican food restaurant. their menu is diverse and has something for everyone (even my picky 14 year old who had wings!). christie was the absolute best server, and she told me about this fried ear of corn. i'm thinking, "how good could it be?" well let me tell you, it's awesome! i'm still thinking about it a couple of hours later!! my husband's burrito was delicious and i had an empanata which was good, but i loved the burrito better! i highly recommend lola's and can't wait to go back!!

let's start with the menu. on the back page of their menu they tell you that changing something on the menu will screw up the flavor. okay so if i'm allergic i should just eat it and die..got it. it also claims that all the food is fresh. i have been eating rice-a-roni for years and i know instant when i taste it. no one at my table got any cabbage in their food as it said on the menu but that was hard to notice when you're staring down a ten dollar burrito with cold meat, rice a roni, and i believe there were 6 tortilla chips on my plate. no complementary salsa, though we did buy some of their pineapple salsa and it was good. the corn was canned the mushrooms if they weren't canned sure tasted and looked bad. the menu has a section called from the streets of bogota that;s colombia and the first thing for sale in the colombian section is..."mexican street corn" nothing in the section is colombian. i know. i'm from south america. i could go on about the menu but why bother? we are never going back. the people working were nice adn smiling and after they did screw up my order i did get a quesadilla and it was okay but not even close to worth the price. somebody call gordon ramsey to fix this joint. unfortunately it is just as bad as the previous restraunt that occupied the space (and they didn't change the bar at all) "jacksons"

wrong order. i went there for lunch today with my sons and the food was good,however the service was slow and when we received our order it was wrong. i ordered the taco salad with shrimp instead of beef i got beef and no shrimp. my son ordered quesadilla with no tomatoes and when it arrived it had tomatoes.

i don't know why this place has only a 57% approval rate. it far exceeds that, everything is always top notch. went there with my family and everyone enjoyed it. the service was honestly one of the best i experienced here in jacksonville. the waiter was constantly checking on us go make sure we didn't need anything. food was great, had a very authentic flavor. give this place a try it wont disappoint!

enjoyed it. it was a nice pleasant environment. the margaritas were well mixed also. the staff was friendly and when there was a problem the manager hurried and corrected it himself. i really like the service. the food was good. but i am not a big burrito eater. i would return.

empanadas were good. staff is wonderful. i liked the art on old car hoods.

lola’s burrito joint  is one of the latest spots to open in the post/park/king street area of riverside. i was pleased to see lola’s supporting local beers by having great happy hour specials for bold city.

fresh food. went for lunch and enjoyed the way the menu let's you choose all different items, lots of mexican restaurants tend to have plates with 1 or 2 items with three of each. had the spicy shrimp taco, fresh, delicious and black bean empanada, yummy.huge selection of beverages

had a great time! lunch was delicious, and the atmosphere and cool mexican day of the dead themes decor is stunning! try the empanadas!

i went in to lola's last week for the first time. i had a tonsillectomy done less than a week before and was unable to eat spicy food. i wanted the mojo chicken burrito but was unsure of the spice level. the owner himself cooked and brought me a sample of the chicken to make sure i would enjoy this. it was top notch service and a delicious meal!!

pretty good. i stopped in this evening and had a seat at the bar for a beer and a burrito and i was not disappointed. they have a good number of beers on tap at decent prices including a few great local brews. i had a burrito... something "mojo"... with pork, corn, etc. and it was awesome - i'll have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. it came with chips and i ordered some of the verde salsa to go with them and that wasn't anything special, but the burrito and the beer were worth stopping in for. the service made it that much better too - the bartender was attentive and friendly and a couple of the waiters stopped and asked how everything was as well. overall, a good experience. :)

great food, great atmosphere, pleasant, happy people serving people! if these are the things that you look for when you go out, then you should have as great of a time as i did! will definitely be back! the burritos are huge amd the flavor combinations are terrific, love the carnita meat!

for the record. lola's is a joint built on fun and good times. i have eaten there several times and any one that thinks it is racist or prejudice is blantantly ignorant. this restaurant caters to all and has no interest in offending anyone. names for dishes come from staff and others with the intent to humor those who frequent there. to call any member of this organization a "racist" is beyound stupid and will be no longer even entertained as my critiques of lola's progress. grow up !
the food is outstanding and if you do not like the bogata flare, bring it to the attention of the owners. it is as simple as that! the rest is just bs and most of you already know this. i have been in this profession for years and i have never met more responsible owners. the food and drinks rule and for those who disagree, i bet i could difuse your whining in about 12 seconds. why doesn't the news channels talk to a real professional in the food business? i could give you many reasons why. go see for yorself why the buzz is so loud, the rest is more or less like local strings being pulled.

i wanted lettuce added to a bean, beef and cheese buritto and have them remove the beef. the waitress told me i couldn't 'customize' my order.

you can add lettuce to a buritto at taco bell???
