excellent food, amazing drinks, exceptional service!. promptly seated on the patio. salsa sampler was very tasty; the tomatillo and regular were the favs. as first timers, we scanned the dishes being served to many seated nearby. ordered chicken & waffles, and the chicken fried steak with chorizo gravy. both were excellent and would be ordered again when visited. this clearly explained why many others seated nearby had it on their plates. bloody mary's were very tasty - with as many being served, i'm certain the bartender could have made them blindfolded. the fuego verde (tequila, jalapeno, cilantro concoction) was a-ma-zing...hands down, best tequila drink ever. the service provided by our waiter, lem, was exceptional. the only downside was that we didn't try lola until our last day in denver, and not sooner on our trip from texas.

her name was lola... she was a train wreck...

they were out of the carne asada and lamb. the empanadas were cold on the inside like they were frozen or reheated, squash was bland and dry. this place is extremely overpriced and the food is terrible. the ceviche made me gag. #terrible

great, unique mexican food. the food, service and atmosphere are all excellent... the one criticism i have is it's a little pricey for mexican food, even though it's gourmet.

the highlight is surely the lola guacamole, which they prepare at your table, in front of you! to top it off, they add their "signature" -- see my uploaded photo. it tastes delicious!

the chef accommodated my wife's dietary restrictions (vegan and gluten-free) by making her a special dish which she loved very much. my baked poblano relleno was spicy and yummy. the prices are a little high, but you're paying for the service as well as the food.

disappointed...... i should have listened to the reviews, but a good friend suggested this restaurant so we went.
price - over priced for the quality of food
service - excellent
drinks - excellent
atmosphere - good
food - poor
table side guacamole - excellent, but hard to mess up guacamole
lobster tostada and shrimp ceviche - greatly lacking in flavor and the lobster was kind of fishy
carne asada - good, nothing special
poblano peppers - excellent, if only all the food was this good
vermilion snapper - very disappointed, no flavor at all, it came with lime wedges, (3) corn tortillas and pickled onion squash to make tacos with. nothing special and actually pretty bad.

not worth your money or time to go to this restaurant.

not worth the headache. lola's might be in a great location and serve interesting food, but when it comes to taking care of the customers they haven't got a clue.

the food and drinks are pricey and even more so when you are double charged. waiter told me my card was declined even when i pulled up my online banking and showed him the balance and the actual charge from when he ran my card. told me he would need another card and was charged on that one as well. when i called to fix the situation the manager was not helpful. told me that this waiter has been with them and just made a mistake. ok? then how was tip added to both cards-after he told me he canceled the first charge, and i only signed the slip for my credit card? honest mistakes happen and part of business is making up for those mistakes in order to make your customers happy, but when management is rude and unwilling to make up the their mistake they will loose business.

not worth the headache or their snobby attitudes.

we tried...to eat here. in spite of making a reservation more than a week prior...we failed. the hostess walked past several empty tables to take us to a 'reserved' table in the basement. there were half a dozen empty tables in the basement where it was warm & stuffy. when we asked to sit up stairs or outdoors as the weather was nice, we were told we'd be placed on the bottom of the list & it would be way more than 30 mins for a table. we collected our valeted car & went else where. i thought reservations at an establishment would secure a better experience than this. what gives here?

i'm anxious to return to lola for brunch. there are several choices on the menu that look quite wonderful and i think my kids would really love the cinnamon roll.

lola makes a worthy addition to the mexican scene in the highlands. at the end of the shawshank redemption, wrongfully convicted andy dufresne escapes prison and heads to zihuatenejo, on the pacific coast of mexico. i never understood why, but after eating some of the dishes at lola, i suspect he went for the seafood. so or

great food and fantastic service. while in denver for a business trip, our group of three women ate dinner at lola. we were all very pleased with the entire experience and would definitely go back!

service: patrick,a fellow hoosier, was the manager that evening and was an extremely good host. he took the time to chat with us and make sure that we were enjoying our evening. matt made us some very delicious guacamole and even gave us some great colorado sightseeing tips. jeff was our waiter and he was fantastic! he knew so much about the menu and the ingredients in each dish. he was very attentive, friendly and gave some great food recommendations.

food: the guacamole is prepared tableside and made as spicy as you would like it to be. we all thought that the flavor and consistency of the guacamole was perfect. the margaritas at lola are really fresh and made with real ingredients instead of that nasty sweet and sour mix. for dinner, i ordered the shrimp albondigas (pescatarian-friendly) which came with a savory lobster and goat cheese quesadilla. really, really delicious. for dessert, we split the chocolate espresso cake. this came with blackberry-cardamom ice cream and candied marcona almonds. it was the perfect size and a delicious combination of flavors.

ambiance: we sat inside at a table near the kitchen. it was fun to watch the chefs whip up delicious dishes and know that they operate out of a clean kitchen! the overall ambiance of the place is nice. it's got that dark, sexy vibe going for it!

awesome for parties!!. i have always loved lola, but am so impressed with their party hosting! i had my 40th birthday party there and we booked belola (the room below lola) and had about 50 people. they did a great job timing the appetizers, keeping everyone's glasses full, getting meals out to those who ordered them and just being all around awesome to work with. i'll going to do my 50th party there as well! thanks lola!!

scrumptious - denver style!. last year for my 50th bday i came in from buffalo, ny and had my birthday dinner at lola's. because outstanding food, service, menu choices and atmosphere are their game i convinced 3 other people to come to lola's again. it happens to be this year another friend was turning 50 and i wanted the dinner to "be all that" and it was. we started with amazing drinks- one that was especialy tasty was the fuego verde - corazon blanco, muddled jalapeño & cilantro, fresh lime, agave nectar, slice of jalapeño, cilantro sprig, 10 dollars.

next was the delicious lola guacamole made for us tableside. i bet each one of us could have just eaten that and been satisfied. garlicky, full of chunks of avacado and warm chips.

i devoured the ceviche flight tuna poke, rock shrimp, lobster, 22 dollars- a real steal. my two friends ordered the shrimp albondigas lobster & goat cheese quesadilla, wilted spinach, cascabel cream, 19 dollars and talked about how fabulous it was for the next 3 days. and my other friend scooped up the chiles rellanos.

you will never go wrong here............if you are in denver make it a point to get here!! (btw the buffalonians will be back next year)
