i’m a disabled, recently widowed gentleman from melbourne up in brisbane on first holiday in 49 years. i decided to try lefkas on recommendation of a local taxi driver. when i arrived, i was treated like family. the wait staff were lovely. it was a wednesday night and they were very busy. i ordered a saganaki for entree. when it came it was quite a large slice of sour, salty, cheesy perfection. i ordered for main dish the chicken souvla. expecting the chicken gyros, i received two very large chicken breast pieces, greeksalad and 4 lemon roasted potato halves. i thought the chicken being breast meat might be a little dry but on the contrary it was beautiful and moist. the lemon potatoes were to die for!! i also had 2 of the biggest pieces of turkish delight and 2 rather expensive small importedgreeksoft drinks which also very nice. the whole lot of entree, mains, 2 desserts & 2 drinks. came to $50. i could hardly walk out the door i was so full. because i was a table for one on my own and it was very busy, i felt guilty taking up precious table space but i was not pressured once to vacate the table after my meal. friends, do yourselves a favour and visit this stunning restaurant. you won’t regret it!!

rude service, average food. disappointed, especially after reading all the reviews. extremely rude, unhelpful staff. pork souvlaki average. would not recommend. have been to othergreekrestaurants in west end that are far superior in service and food quality.

the real deal. lefkas taverna feels like every good taverna i've ever eaten in, in greece. the food is authentic and truly delicious, portions are generous and prices great value. definitely the bestgreekfood in brisbane. even though it's not in the hub of west end it gets packed so be sure to book - even on weeknights.

disappointed. the pork giros was fine and mousaka poor but the biggest dissapointment was the service and attitude of one of the waitressess there. my wife isgreekand we get asked all the time for the best place to eat realgreekfood in brisbane, but no way can we say that this place lives up to some of the reviews. sorry for the truth but better to say it and save somebody from a dissapointment.

even impressed a veggo!. we took our relatives, who are visiting from the uk, out for dinner last night. one of them is a strict vegetarian and the staff at lefkas were more than happy to answer any and all questions. she enjoyed the stuffed capsicum while the rest of us dined on lamb and pork yiros, cabbage rolls (my favourite), moussaka and thegreekbaked chicken. we left very full and extremely satisfied! we are regulars at lefkas, and johnny and his staff never disappoint. bestgreekoutside melbourne!

i did not like lefkas at all we went today i took my family three generations of mothers for mothers day from the get go things were poor no music.sitting on the footpath in the sun. entre was ok but pita and greek? dips from coles have more flavour. there were 20 people in our group no explanation or discussion was given from the waitresses to let us know what was being served platters were dropped in front of us and waitresses ran the only thing on the plate tasting good was the olive oil and the onions in the salad. i octopus was especially dissapointing as it was the rubberiast i have had the misfortune of tasting at least now i know what badgreekfood tastes like as it sorry guys you fail as so many others do

disappointed/not traditional. quite disappointed with our mothers day lunch experience. nothing had flavour. the dips were tasteless. octypus was chewy and absolutely disgusting. was that meant to be pickled. it's an insult to traditionalgreekfood. wouldn't go back. $700 for the bill and wouldn't even be worth $200.00. could write more but a waste of time.

my birthday is coming up and we decided to go out last night to have a date night. we chose lefkas and made a booking two weeks prior after having a look at their menus and reviews and it was absolutely a great decision. we had a wonderful night dining at lefkas, from their service to their food and drinks. as shown in the pics, we ordered a combination platter, which had a bit of everything, chicken, lamb, seafood, pitas and a big chunk of halloumi. the lamb was grilled medium rare and was quite flavorful and juicy. i really loved how they seasoned the meat. the chicken was tender and tasted different than the lamb but still quite delicious. we especially loved their baby octopuses and deep fried calamari. they were so well done and we couldn’t figure out how they cooked the octopuses but they were yummy. and the halloumi, best grilled halloumi i have ever had. we reckon it was pre-marinated. so tender and easy to cut through and the cheesy flavor was well maintained despite of the saltiness that comes with it. the tzatziki dip was so creamy and rich and we loved every bit of it. we were a bit surprised at the portion of the platter when it was brought out as it didn’t look as much in pictures we had seen previously. it was def enough for two people. as for the drinks i got a moscato and for someone who only drinks a few times a year, i must say i really enjoyed it. it had this distinctive fruity flavor to it and was easy on the throat when swallowing it. my boyfriend grabbed their vilana vidiano, which isgreekand i must say even i liked it and i don’t even like red wine that much. the service was quite good. the staff were friendly and attentive. the whole place was radiating a young and vibrant vibe and was so full of energy. it does get busy and you may have to wait for a bit if you show up without a booking. all in all, it was a quite a pleasant and high standard experience and we will def go back again.

i like this restaurant, the design the the restaurant is sogreekstyle, and the food is also mediterranean! we have lamb shank and baby octopus. my only suggestion would be the halloumi to be cut into small slices instead of a whole big chuck. i would like to try other dishes next time.

i have been wanting to try some authenticgreekdishes. that’s why i decided to visit this restaurant. the restaurant was empty when i was there. i only noticed two groups of people having lunch. i have to say that their service was so good. the staff was so friendly and helpful. i asked her for her recommendation and she described everything nicely.

i had classic lefkas yiros with pita and tzatziki. the staff said that i could opt three meats: chicken, pork, and lamb. so i went for it. the portion was sooo large. it should be enough for 3 persons. it was a huge pile of meats on the top of pita bread. the meats were cooked well. they were tender. i could taste one of the meats was saltier than the others. they were great!! i also loved the pita bread and tzatziki. it was a great meal. i even didnt have dinner since i was too full.👍

this is now my favouritegreekrestaurant! my partner and i had dinner here last week and the food is authenticallygreekand delicious! i now understand why it is necessary to book a table, it is really popular and was fully booked on the night that we went there. one tip is to go there very very hungry as the portions are huge...i regretted having lunch earlier that day. we started with pitta bread and a trio of dips which i can recommend if there are maybe 3-4 people sharing as an entree...it was so delicious though! we then had our mains, my partner had the rosemary lamb shank which looked awesome, the size could have easily fed 2 people (he said it was amazing) and i had the beef stifado which was the best one i've ever eaten. we will definitely return but i think next time, we will order plates to share and not eat anything else beforehand!!!

a true west end staple that's never let us down. it's not pompous, over the top, or complicated - it's just hearty, honestgreekfood. this is a great option for groups of friends looking for a casual shared feast.

must try this if you lovegreekfood. lamb shanks, cabbage rolls, dips all great and can be gluten and dairy free if you get vegetable sticks with the latter. not big on their fish but otherwise perfect..gets loud at night so i sit in the corner or go on weekdays. great dessert selection if you're into that.
