have long heard of great things about leann's tea house.  happy to discover that they also haveunlimitedsamgyupsal with lots of options and offered at an affordable price.  while my sister loves their jjamyun, i highly recommend their spicy ojinguh.  my first dining experience makes me want to come back to try more of their dishes.

i am admittedly not a fan of korean cuisine (because i don’t understand why all flavors - sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami - have to be too strong) so for me to like a korean restaurant, it has to be really good. but i do love barbecue and leann’s tea house does this really well.

if you’re craving meat, theirunlimitedsamgyeopsal (pork belly) (p349) and
unlimited samgyeopsal and woosamgyeop (pork belly and beef belly) (p449) are good value for your money. they’re also planning to add pre-marinated pork and beef slices so leann fans need to go back and try these great-tasting meats too. i liked that we could grill our meats using charcoal - it made it even more delicious. and aside from the meats, there are several side dishes to try that comeunlimitedwith the meats like rice, lettuce, kimchi, bean sprouts and ssamjang among others.

if you’re not craving meats, you can try ordering some of their other dishes ala carte. my favorite was their seafood pancake or hameul pajeon. at p300, this pizza-sized, egg, veggie and seafood pancake is big enough to feed 4 to 5 people. it’s crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside.

the cheese buldak (p320) is another favorite, with its spicy chicken tempered by the ooey, gooey creamy cheese in a hot plate. with rice or rice cake, you cannot get enough of this dish.

for a classic korean dish, leann’s has bibimbap (p210), a hot bowl of veggies, meat, rice and egg and sauce to make it a hearty meal of harmonious and contrasting flavors.

this hole-in-the wall restaurant along mother ignacia road has a small signage and most of the dining is upstairs. do be careful of the steep chairs but you’ll be rewarded with good food.

leann's tea house is not a chinese restaurant, rather the main attraction here is theirunlimitedmeat and tea. aside from these, there are other notable dishes you may want to try.

true to their name and before i go into anything else, don't forget to avail of their refillable tea which is free-- flavors depending on the brew for the day ranging from oksusu cha (korean corn tea) to earl grey. these are good for the tummy especially after taking in a lot of meat or in between.

onto the must try list:

- cheese buldak (320php) yess! top one on the list for me! cheese buldak translates to cheesy fire chicken. the chicken is mildly spicy, but no worries, nothing you can't handle. mixed in with the creamy mozzarella cheese, tteok-bokki (rice cake) and the heat of the plate, you surely wouldn't go wrong with this order.

-unlimitedpork and beef/samgyeopsal and woosamgyup (449php). you may also opt for just pork/samgyeopsal (349php), but you're already here and just for +100php, why not go for the best of both worlds? as for quality, their meat is both imported and locally shipped, depending on which is more fresh. who wouldn't want that? both packages come withunlimitedside dishes,
 1. rice
 2. lettuce
 3. garlic and onion
 4. kimchi
 5. sweet mashed potatoes
 6. soy braised peanuts
 7. lettuce salad
 8. soybean sprouts (togue)
 9. soup (soybean? i have to clarify with this. the standard korean soup)
 10. sesame oil, salt and pepper
 11. ssamjang (thick sweet and spicy sauce for the meat)

if you're ordering just ala carte, classic favorites include:
- seafood pancake/hameul pajeon (300php) crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside good for sharing.

- bibimbap (210php) beef, mushrooms, carrots, cucumber, spinach, togue and egg yolk on a piping hot white rice bowl, with an option to make it spicy with gochujang sauce. this will surely fill up your tummy.

coming soon!!!
for no additional charge, the resto will be adding their own meat marination in theunlimitedpork and beef package namely: bulgogi beef (sweet and tastes like tapa yum), spicy pork and spicy woosamgyup.

leann's tea house has a small signage. you may miss it so better keep your eyes open! they have both charcoal and electric grills, depending on the availability and where you sit. service-wise, they have improved a lot compared to the last time i was here. they've become amiable and happy to serve. servers may forget some of your additional requests because of the influx of customers so don't hesitate to ask again. there is relatively a lot of space on the second and third floor so don't get disheartened at the first floor. parking can be done in front of the restaurant, but you can also park in the streets (be sure to check out if there are no parking signs). restroom is located on the second floor.

if there is anything koreans and filipinos have in common, it is the love for food! it is evident at the manyunlimitedmeat here at the metro! leanne’s tea house may sound chinese but this is a korean restaurant servingunlimitedmeat for all of us meat-lovers! but they also serve specialty teas. please ask the servers on what the tea of the day is. btw, this is free!

servesunlimitedpork samgyeopsal (p349) andunlimitedsamgyeopsal + woosamgyeop (pork and beef belly) for only p449. so i suggest that you take this deal. the more meat, the merrier. the meat is sourced from both local and imported sources so you will get real quality meat.
we love that leann’s now uses charcoal since the taste and the smell would entice you to eat more! though they still have butane options, i recommend the charcoal since the taste is better.

if you do not want unlimited, you can choose from their ala-carte:

• cheese buldak (spicy chicken with cheese) - love this cheesy ensemble! the
chicken and the cheese are the perfect combination! would order this when i go back!
• seafood pancake (hameul pajeon) - love this for an appetizer! the size is so big that it can be shared for 4 to 5 members.
•bibimbap - a staple and a well-known rice dish that you will love to order any time.

soon they will be serving marinated meat too and we were so lucky that leann’s let us have the first dibs:

•spicy pork - if you love spicy meat then you are in for a treat for this. but better watch while it cooks since it might get too tough to eat.
•bulgogi beef - if you want something a little sweet, then this is for you! you would love this sudden change in flavor from the other meats.
•spicy woosamgyup - love it spicy so i would order this again any time.

i just wish they would serve a little more side dish variations or maybe that is just me :) but who doesn’t love

their signage is not that noticeable outside so maybe this is one good improvement point and make it more evident that this is indeed a korean grill resto but for sure we do love their tea.
the space at the 1st floor is not that inviting and but i love the intimate space at the 2nd floor which feels and looks more like a korean grill resto. they have strong vents that suck out the smell and the smoke. when you get the charcoal grill, you can feel the heat by your feet area so i hope they do something about it.

the staff are friendly and are very attentive to all our needs.

finally, a good korean restaurant at tomas morato.

we've been scourging korean restaurants for quite some time now. our favorite areas: ortigas and makati. little did we know tomas morato has something to offer. we've tried some before but they're all just average or plainly not good enough. also, don't get confused. leann's tea house is not like david's tea house or le ching tea house as it offers korean food instead of chinese food.

the restaurant is a two-story establishment. first floor is perfect for those who are ordering a la carte dishes and would not want to smell. the second floor is a much bigger space and is full of grilling customers.

their second level is fully equipped with charcoal grill and vents per table. so all set for anunlimitedgrilling sesh!
unlimited samgyeopsal and woosamgyeop (p449 per person) – who doesn't loveunlimitedkor bbq? leann's tea house served 5 kinds of meats, pork and beef in different variants. we had spicy dwaeji galbi, beef bulgogi, spicy woosamgyeop, samgyeopsal and woosamgyeop.

they have limited choices for the ban chan, which was a downside for us. we love kor restos with lots of side dishes. hope they can add more in the near future.

the perfect drink to help digest all these meats was their tea. we love it! it was a bittersweet barley. also helpful in the cleansing our palate. other a la carte foods we've had were:

hameul pajeon (p300) – this humongous seafood pancake was the start of the night. it was loaded with lots of veggies and seafood meats, all combined together in this very filling pancake.

bibimbap (p210) – the classic korean favorite, this bibimbap didn't disappoint. plus, it's affordable and the serving was huge.

cheese buldak (p360) – spicy chicken with cheese, our personal favorite! we love how they blended in cheese and chili into a one tasty treat.
value for money: price can be a bit steep compared to other korean restos but considering there's a lot of choices of the meats, it's quite reasonable.

samgyupsal here, there and everywhere! 😂 if you think you've tried them all, you should definitely check out leann's tea house and feel and taste the difference.

leann's tea house feels premium upon entering for the first time. they started as a restaurant that offers the usual korean fare but rebranded asunlimitedkorean bbq restaurant just last november 2018. the difference at leann's tea house is that they can offer the juicy meltique beef from australia, unlimited!

aside from this, their kimchi is to die for! they perfected their kimchis with the right mix of spicy & sour and the freshness of their cabbage is on point! this is my fave samgyup place so far!

one of my luxury treat is eating samgyupsal, i know its surprising since i have eaten at several for quite some time but trust me when i say that i rarely eat samgyupsal i really do. another thing i would like to say is i am also quite picky with places to eat samgyupsal because not a lot of samgyupsal places really serve great quality meat or their service is not at par to my liking.

and i think i have found a place i can say i am comfortable because of the variety of meat selections and also its near my place so if i want to splurge for a bit i think this will be the place i can go to. i am talking about leann's teahouse.

located at mother ignacia, quezon city this restaurant actually started out as the typical korean restaurant that serves ala carte korean dishes and since samgyupsal has risen into popularity, they also includedunlimitedsamgyupsal in their menu!

they have three sets which are the unli pork (399.00 pesos) unli pork & beef (499.00 pesos) cpb premium (599.00 pesos) i would suggest getting the cpb premium because you get the best of everything plus meltique beef. i will tell you guys more about meltique beef in a while.

to be honest the selection of meat they have are similar to other restaurants but their secret weapon is their meltique meat. meltique is actually top graded meat from australia which is similar to the japanese wagyu beef. its soft, melt in your mouth goodness is what i actually love. another one of my favorite is their thinly sliced pork belly and beef cuts because they are so amazing to eat i think i ate about 3 servings each of those alone. napakamasiba mode lanangpake ganun!

aside from the meat, they have one of the best tasting kimchi in town because its not that spicy and doesn't have that pungent smell. i was able to take home some and made kimchi pancake with it and its the best thing to eat late at night while writing reviews if you ask me haha!

aside from samgyupsal i was able to try also their ala carte servings of pajeon or korean pancake which is fit to feed about 3 people (large eaters) or about 6 people if they are not large eaters. the pajeon is actually great and full of the toppings into it which makes the taste better than other places.

i was able to try this cheese kimchi rice and i am in love. its creamy and salty from the cheese with a kick of spice from the kimchi. another one is the korean fried chicken. its sweet with a bit of spice into it which i can suggest great to pair up with beer.

i wasn't able to try the soups since i was quite full at this point but those are seafood soup which smelled amazing, i will have to go back for sure to try those.

one thing i can say i love about leann's tea house is its not just your regular samgyupsal place because it also offers authentic korean food if you don't want to stuff yourself too much. the place might be small but its not stuffy or hot. its very cozy and perfect to spend time with your friends and family.

the best samgyup place i've ever tried. i think they are the only one who servesunlimitedmeltique beef. the staff are very courteous as well. one thing that surprises me was that there was no line at all when we usually visit. it is not that crowded compared to other unli korean place.

i've always wanted to try eating here and i was especially hungry after the first weekend of the licensure exam for physicians (and sad because omg anatomy why u like dat huhu) so i thought this would be the best place to drown my sorrows. lol. we arrived at around 7:45pm and i was a little worried because i thought there would be a long line. we were very lucky to get a table right away. we opted for the most expensive choice forunlimitedmeat. the service was super fast and super good too. shoutout to our waiter kuya chris who was always funny and liked to explain a lot about the restaurant. kuya chris was also super helpful and whenever he passed by he always asked if we wanted this or that refilled whenever one particular dish was gone. we didn't even have to call his attention much when we needed something because he was always very vigilant. the other guy who was with him was also super helpful. 🤗

when the food arrived we were absolutely floored. the meat was so good!! we especially enjoyed the meltique beef. it was a really good cut and kuya chris said this is the one they usually get for steakhouses. at least here you can have as much of it as you want. it was so tender and juicy and gaaahh just so good. 😭 the shoulder blade was also very good!! it was marinated and very juicy. it was a little sweet but it was good. they only serve one plate of it though since around 1kg is worth 1000 pesos. but it was a really good deal. 🤗🤗 the pork was also really good!! i love how it isn't all fat. the sides were also good! they have salad, this mashed potato with vegetables in it, and some sweet beans, and some soup. they are all excellent. you can also cook cheese and egg here. they offered some corn that you can cook and it's in this sweet, milky and cheese-like sauce and it is the bomb.
i really enjoyed it here since you get good meat and great service. even the guard of the place was really friendly. haha. i've tried at a lot of places that offerunlimitedmeat for grilling but this is officially my favorite one.

leann’s tea house is a personal favorite. i can’t even remember how many times my friends and i dined here. i love their meat and banchan. the staff were all helpful, accommodating and nice. they recently added seasoned meat andunlimitedcheese which made our dining experience great. i just wish they will provide separate metal cup for cheese because the oil from the meat tend to go to the side of the grill where you melt the cheese.

i think i just found the samgyupsal that ticked off the others from my favorites list. thus, becoming my ultimate korean barbecue  dining place, leann’s tea house!

i’ve always wanted to go to leann’s tea house due to the fact that many have left good reviews on zomato. if you are familiar with the national bookstore located at quezon avenue, you can drop by there and navigate with waze or google maps for a short walk to reach your destination.

the place / ambiance

from the outside, the restaurant looks simple, small, and old. it honestly doesn’t look dashing or something that could immediately snatch your attention. the ground floor has only two tables, so we decided to dine in on the first floor which was more spacious and can occupy more guests. the set-up of each table was neat, tidy, and well-organized. plus, it was well-ventilated.

food

theunlimitedsamgyupsal consists of three sets of menu:

unli pork which includes samgyeopsal, yangnyum pork, and spicy pork for p399.00

unli pork and beef which includes unli pork, woosamgyup, spicy woosamgyup, and bulgogi for p499.00

cpb premium which includes unli pork & beef, dak galbi, spicy woosamgyup, meltique beef, buchaesal (1 plate), and kimchi rice for 599.00

the 2nd and 3rd set of menu come withunlimitedcheese, corn, and egg. all sets come with rice, soup, lettuce, and side dishes.

we tried the 2nd set of menu because we were on a budget! all i can say is that every meat is tender, fresh, and absolutely delicious! i honestly think it is the first time that i personally liked every meat! my favorites are the woosamgyup and the bulgogi! i also loooove their cheese by how tasty it was!

service

the award for the best customer service award goes to this restaurant! and i’m not even kidding! the waiters were very friendly, accommodating, and are really fast in serving our needs! they were responsive to our concerns and were good at entertaining their guests. they always ask their customers if they need something, if they have missed something, and ask for our feedback for their improvement!

overall review:

i always take account the place, food, and service in reviewing restaurants and so far, leann’s tea house has the 5/5 ratings for all the categories. they may not have a big place, or have a wide variety of meat choices, but my experience has definitely made me gain my respect and favor to this resto! it has become my top k-bbq, and i can’t wait to come back and try their other dishes!

all photos are mine. #samgyupsal #samgyupsalqc #leannsteahouse #samgyupsalquezoncity

we went on a friday night and availed theirunlimitedpork and beef meat (p499).

food: 3.5⭐️
we love their woosamgyup (beef) and bulgogi beef, and somehow okay with the pork. the others, we’re not happy. there are not much side dishes that made p sad. the cheese, corn and egg are good but their holder is so small that we kept asking for refill.

place: 3⭐️
place is big and clean but hot once it is already fullhouse! 🔥

service: 4.5⭐️
oh this they’re good! they are alert and friendly. all our request are immediately addressed.
