breakfast doesn't get better than this, but i'm not sure it was worth the hour-long wait! still worth going at leat once, because you'll never experience breakfast like this again!

in a perfect world, breakfast wouldn't be confined to just breakfast. fortunately, brunch is a thing, so we waltzed into le petit dejeuner  for toronto's favourite meal. it's their breakfast they're well known for, a breakfast that attracts lines. the hungry gal ($11) after feeling a little ignored for a while, we ordered  the hungry gal ($11), a plate topped with two eggs, toast, potato rosti, apple coleslaw, and our choice of bacon. imagine your stereotypical breakfast and it's probably similar to what our plate looked and tasted like. one surprising twist was their bacon, which tasted as if it was seasoned with a handful rather than a pinch of salt, but overall the dish was unmemorable. toast champignon ($13) next up was toast champignon ($13), a halved bagel with sautéed mushrooms, herbs, onions, and bacon, also served with their signature apple slaw and potato rosti.

we ordered the waffle benny and waffle benjamin. benny's had bacon, while the benjamin had smoked salmon - absolutely divine. it also came with a salad, which was refreshing against everything else we had on our plate. the waffles were really light and tasted perfect with the icing and syrup. the portions were great - i did not feel really full after, but was content and had enough space in my stomach to go visit a cute coffee shop on the east end - which sounds perfect in my books!

petit dejeuner serves up belgian-canadian comfort food with their fabulous light and fluffy waffles. i got the breakfast crepes , $12, filled with three cheeses, peameal bacon, two scrambled eggs and potatoes. it wasn't a very visually appealing filling but it was scrumptious. almost all the meals are served with a side of their famous apple slaw, sweet and tangy, topped with their house creamy dressing and pickles.

lovely breakfast place at st. lawrence. strong americano and a tasty masala chai rooibos tea.

both our breakfast dishes were fantastic. ham & cheese crepe was great with cheddar cheese and piperade adding subtle spice. spinach omelette with house salad was very good too. fluffy omelette with melted brie. both dishes had apple coleslaw that added crunch like crisps.

that was the best waffle i have ever had in life. i had eggs benedict with smoked salmon and a waffle instead of english muffin. amazing. so amazing it made me forget about the below par service and the ridiculously long line.

not just for brunch. if you want tasty mussels or pasta, their menu (albeit small) has lots of tasty and inexpensive options.

the menu at lpd is quite simple but the variations are extensive. eggs can be ordered almost any way you like - scrambled, poached, fried, omelet style or eggs benny and served with such sides as apple coleslaw, potato rosti, toast and/or fruit. for the crêpe lovers, they have both sweet (jam and butter) to salty crêpes filled with cheese, peameal bacon and/or ham. those with a sweet tooth will definitely enjoy their authentic brussels' style waffles drizzled with different flavours of organic maple syrup and chantilly cream. vegetarian options are also available.

brussel's melody has a slice of peameal bacon, egg, apple slaw and brussels style belgian waffles. it is served with organic maple syrup from temple sugar bush.

the dish was ok, but nothing really wow-ed us. the brussels-style belgian waffles were light and fluffy, but i would like it to be slightly more crisp.

one of the best waffles i've had at a restaurant! be cautious that there is usually a line up outside! the place is small, and the wait can be anywhere from 20 minutes (for groups of 2-3) to 45minutes to an hour wait. well worth the wait! the waffles benny comes with apple coleslaw, waffles, and an egg benedict with hollandaise sauce on your choice of salmon or bacon or (another thing i forgot). so so so delicious and so filling! tip: call ahead before you go and ask how long the wait will be, so you can try to go when the wait is a bit shorter.

now that was a breakfast!. my wife and i visited toronto this past weekend, and based on some internet research we decided to try le petite dejeuner for breakfast. all i can say is that it was one of the best breakfast experiences we have ever had!

first of all, the woman who was our server was extremely pleasant, and when she found out it was our first time at this restaurant she filled us in on the best dishes, and boy was she right!

we had the french toast, which was unreal! the bread is baked fresh, and we were told that they have no toasters in the restaurant, everything is toasted on a grill, which added to the experience. and the syrup was unbelievable as well, true maple syrup, not some store bought bottle.

we also ordered an eggs benny, which was reeeeeally good. and for both dishes, the presentation was exceptional.

this meal was one of the highlights of the trip, and i would recommend le petite dejeuner (especially the home-made french toast!) to anyone looking for a great breakfast!

came here for an extremely late brunch and even though they were almost closed the staff welcomed us and took our order without rushing us! much appreciated. we had the benjamin waffles which is pretty much heavenly. the waffles are equal parts fluffy and tasty. not too sweet not too savoury. this was served with maple syrup, smoked salmon, one egg benny and a bed of some kinda fruity stuff that i was too full to eat. i'll
definitely be back to try those waffles again with different sides.
