great way to spend the afternoon. they have good selection of pastry and serves great coffee!
loved the pastries, and the chocolate truffles. its not overly sweet, everything is well balanced.

the outdoor seatings is great when its not too hot or not raininf. the location itself is easy to find. will be back for more! 👍🏻

i have only been here for take away once but i have to say i had one of the best cakes ever made by man. it was so fresh and full of flavour and the presentation of all their pastries and cakes is of a high standard. it is also a very fancy café on the inside and outside, however not really my kind of style.

the desserts were appealing and the courtyard was lovely, however the service was a little too efficient. we were hoping to enjoy our afternoon tea at a relaxed pace but were interrupted several times by the staff too eager to remove any newly emptied plates and cups from our table, one at a time. both our forks were taken before we even finished our fruit tart...

this cafe has a special place in my heart. reason being, it's helped me for every single birthday i've planned for the past year whenever i need a birthday cake ready to go and wow people. been through pretty much 50% of the celebration cakes. nothing much more can be said. staff are friendly, cake is produced like the images portray them for the price you pay, only thing left for me to do is to finish 100% of the menu for my other friends' bday! would recommend!

awesome cakes in the rocks.
so hard to choose cake from so many beautiful one from the showcase.
millefeuille is my favorite.
the each cake portion is small so feel like i could eat more than two.haha
i'd like to come back soon to try others.
one thing sad is some of the staff were not friendly, service is average.

a friend highly recommended this place. we came at 4.30pm on thursday and the staff were busy cleaning preparing to close the place at 6pm. there were limited choice left and we chose monet. beautiful taste of white chocolate with lychee and sour raspberry to balance. yummmmm! we did enjoy the food but unfortunately received rude customer service. perhaps a note to everyone: make sure to come as early as possible so you have more choices of food and perhaps a friendlier customer service.

this little french patisserie situated at the rocks near guylian's café. easily spotted by the queue that floods or if its front door, the brown lattice window and small doorway, this dessert house is well known at the rocks.
when you walk in... a narrow walk way with dessert and pre-made baguettes displaying in glass windows and hot pastry on the far right hand side. there is also a menu board of all their baguettes and pastries.

sensory over drive, so many goodies for our choosing, and deciding what to have when all of it screams your name. you have to kind of be quick because there are so many others waiting to order. the line could be your saving grace if you're in that indecisive mood.
walk up the steps and you find yourself in their sandstone courtyard with plenty of seating and water fountain to wash down the dessert or savory stuff.
my favourite thing there is their creme brulee. smooth and creamy and the crunchy burnt sugar topping is just the perfect amount of sweetness for my liking.
this is worth a drop by if you are in the rocks area and craving something a little special after brunch or lunch. or maybe you'd like to just come by and soak up the atmostphere of the european feeling courtyard. there is something special about this little café.

every time i'm in sydney i make my way to la renaissance for a fresh butter croissant and something i've never tried on the menu - i'm yet to be remotely disappointed! my favourite french café in sydney, hands down.

perhaps the best patisserie i have been to. located in the rocks area of sydney, just next to the harbour, this place became a must visit everyday after my visit here on day one in the city area. they have a pleasant sitting area at the back, and the ambiance is just perfect for a cafe.
everything i tasted was top notch. i tried their cheddar puff, chicken pie, smoked salmon baguette and double baked almond croissant. the almond croissant was baked just right and tasted very fresh. the baguette and puff were good too. what stole all the limelight for me was the heavenly chicken pie.

a must visit when you are in sydney!

reached there around noon and it was quite crowded. the staff was nice and friendly. will definitely come back and recommend to my friends since it does really good coffee and desserts!

popped in for lunch. you order at the counter, and then can sit in the lovely courtyard in the back. i had sort of a croque monsieur, but with a croissant instead of toast or brioche. so, a cheesy, creamy baked mixture involving a flaky and buttery croissant. what's not to love? with a side salad and a coffee, and a very handsome waiter who brought my coffee, this was a pleasant visit.

wow popped in for a look and couldn't go past the brioche. i gobbled it up standing so didn't get a chance for a nice picture of it. truely buttery goodness. gotta try everything else in their window!

i visited this place today. food was lovely and frontline staff were very professional. we really enjoyed our meal. i also had the honor to watch one of the staff going to the toilets and not washing his hand. maybe some basics hygiene training so it won't ruin our experience like that?? disgusting!!

i've only been once, and so far i can say la renaissance does a good eclair and a pistachio macaroon!! i am yet to try all the pasties, desserts and the a la carte. so being fair with a rating 3 for now.

the coffee was average. the assortment of macaroons was wide but i'm not too fond of macaroons. (the only place that does decent macaroons is a place on king street, newtown near the new establishment of cafes towards the end of the street. it bests zumbo).

coming back to la renaissance it's a small shopfront that opens up into a cosy and crowded courtyard area out back. quite french, but not the best place to eat considering service is ok (they struggle given they're always busy), the line up is crazy, and the prices err on the slightly expensive side.

i'll try it again but next time i'm better off getting take away pastries etc to avoid the queue and eat out along sydney harbour - only a few steps away!
