tastes exactly like the many scoops of gelato we had in italy! been here a few times now and we always get the tiramisu and dark chocolate. it's proper darkchocolateand you can taste the yummy bitterness. we're boring like that but why ruin a good thing? :)

i love the 80% darkchocolateice cream, it's my favorite flavor. it's rich and intense. it's the most successful darkchocolateflavor in brisbane in my opinion, i wish it's slightly creamer and slightly less sugary

a very bright place on the otherwise dark street. was told this has really good gelato which is made fresh. however i unfortunately wasn’t too happy as the service was quite poor with the female server acting as if she will rather not serve us. i also didn’t like the fact that all their gelato is kept in closed containers. i got the darkchocolateand the tiramisu. while the darkchocolatewas good and you could actually taste the cocoa, the tiramisu was really sad. the only thing i could taste was the mascarpone and it felt like i was eating darkchocolateand cheese, not tiramisu. finally even though they had a slogan saying that good gelato never leaves you thirsty, we were both pretty thirsty by the time we finished the gelato. the prices were reasonable but i wouldn’t frequent this place unless going with a group.

cute place, flavors were good and not too sweet. had the darkchocolatebar while the boy had a pistachio + hazelnut combo.chocolatebar was way sweeter than the scooped ice creams so if you’re a fan of sugar and chocolate, that’s the one!

so, after a lovely afternoon bevvy at bitter suite, johnk2154 and myself decide to try la macelleria again.
hubby had thechocolate& pistachio, while i tried the tiramisu & the crema bologna.
all i can say is yum yum yum.
hubby like his pistachio, but thechocolatewas so rich and creamy.
my tiramisu was yummy too, but the crema bologna was amazing with the lemon subtley coming through the rich custard cream.
i have definitely changed my mind, and it's definitely better than gelato messina & gelateria cremona in rosalie.
now on to hamilton to try milani house of gelato!

gotta try the bo & bo paired with anychocolateflavour. it's always a winner in our house. great quality gelato. it's always busy on a friday and saturday night so be prepared to wait.

we happened upon la macelleria gelateria after a lovely dinner at beccofino, and i am so happy we did...this may be the best gelato i've ever eaten!

i enjoyed the fior di latte and caramello salato - both were amazing - 4.5.

lady meatball had the stracciatella (fior di latte with darkchocolateflakes) and was equally impressed. she admitted that this was better than any stracciatella she experienced in italy. this too rates 4.5.

we will definitely be back!

the gelato here was delicious!!! we ordered pistachio, hazelnut cream with caramelised hazelnuts, bacio, caffe, whitechocolateand chocolate. i must say, they do their nuts,chocolateand coffee flavours well. i wasn't a fan of the white chocolate, tiramisu or salted caramel. but that's just my own preference.

don't bother getting an italian hotchocolateif the guy with red hair makes it...you will end up with watered down hotchocolatethat you could make better at home. does not live up to a traditional, thick italian hot choc at all! #letdown

la macelleria gelateria has the best gelato around! salted caramel and macadamia & whitechocolateis to die for! mix and match flavours as you please.

u know is good when u see real italians is around. and i personally love thechocolateflavour, cause is not too sweet is that darkchocolateflavour perfect for a winter night. :) and they sell coffee too

the gelato is some of the best i have ever had - get the bo and bo which is marscapone with a melted hazelnutchocolatesauce which is divine! they lose points however for the rude italian staff - get a hold of yourselves , you sell ice cream you're not saving lives!

with the days getting longer and the nights getting warmer, there is nothing more satisfying than a delectable gelato or sorbet that’ll brighten the day and refreshen the taste buds. the gelato is creamy, smooth and full of flavour. my favourite gelato would be the ‘bacio australiano’ which is the whitechocolatemixed with macadamia chips as well as the ‘caramello salato’ which is salted caramel perfection. however, the fresh sorbet gets me every time and would prefer it over the creamy gelato. the flavours change reguarly but lemon lime & bitters, lemon, kiwi and grapefruit would make the top of my favourites list. there is nothing more refreshing than a cold sorbet at the end of the night, and the best part is that there is 0% fat! i have become quite enamoured with this little store and can be found there most nights enjoying a sorbet. i definitely recommend giving this place a try but be warned, you may get addicted!!! in love and food, vivi filed under: dessert , italian tagged:
