as phoenicians, my husband and i go to la fonda almost every week. best queso fundido i have ever had. carneasadais also phenomenal. they also have my husbands favorite tamales. arizona natives go to this place repeatedly due to their consistently great recipes and friendly service. any comments about bad service probably came when they moved to their gorgeous new location and they were figuring out their kitchen. family owned and around since 1967--we take all of our out of town visitors here!
