as afoodcritic and all around homebody, i recommend la bocca to anyone interested in taking a bite and falling into the jackpot of flavor. the bruschetta plank options are amazing. figs, honey, baby beers and so much more. the pairings are perfect. and you will make this a must

la bocca urban pizzeria & wine bar is a new, exciting, and unique restaurant located on mill avenue in tempe arizona. if you're looking for a place with greatfoodand a nice glass of wine then you should definitely head to la bocca.
the décor is very chic and even the tableware is elegant. there is an outdoor patio, which is great if you enjoy people-watching and, during this time of year, arizona's perfect weather. the restaurant is dimly lit and has floor-to-ceiling windows. each table has a candle. there is a bar and lounge area and many tables to sit at depending on what you prefer.
the bruschetta planks, which are $12 and come with four in an order, are a great appetizer to start with. the hard part is choosing only four because they all sound great. the mediterranean plate is also a great thing to start out with. it comes with hummus, babaganoush, and house made flat bread.
i'm not lying when i say their pizza is the best i've ever tasted. they have seven different pizzas to choose from, or you can build your own. the pizzas are fairly large and are more than enough for one person. you can definitely tell the difference between the quality of la bocca's pizza and other pizza joints across arizona. la bocca uses fresh ingredients and gives you a wide variety of toppings to choose from.
although i've never tried their sangria, i hear it's amazing. they also have 4 peak's kiltlifter on draft, and it is ice cold. the beers are all reasonably priced, but the wine is a little expensive.
overall, i would highly recommend this place to anyone. if you're looking for a place with a cool and comfortable atmosphere, great food, and fantastic service then you should go to la bocca. you won't regret it!

good time.foodtastes great. appetizers and drinks were great. pizza was a little underwhelming. loud inside. outside patio was delightful although tables a little small for four adults. overall well worth the money. we had a great time.

definitely worth a visit. party of 12 - no problem! superior service: we got happy hour pricing on wine, even though we arived shortly after hh was over, waitress offered to split tabs and did so with no mistakes, staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly.foodwas great, reasonably priced. defnitely worth a visit

delish!!!. we recently had "date night" at la bocca and were soooooo impressed. we typically hang in arcadia and scottsdale, but we're glad we left our comfort zone for this little shack of flavor! our service was wonderful and thefoodwas lovely. no complaints here - just compliments. yummo!!!

greatfoodand atmosphere. we have been to la bocca four times and every time we have been very impressed. the pizzas are great. this last time we also had the bruschetta plank (choice of four). what a great way to get four distinctly different and delicious tastings. wish they had another location further north.

greatfood& service. everything i've ever ordered has been awesome, fresh and very tasty. the service is excellent, even during the lunch hour rush. some really unique dishes and salads that are to die for.

i've enjoyed thefoodeach time i've been here. the pizzas are very good. each time though it seems service is slow and less than attentive. i hope they can get the service under control because other than that this place rocks.
