not a place for quick lunch, but a good place to wait for some good sandwiches.
l8 is a great place to chill on a sunny day. it offers the great 44 stanley vibe, friendlyservice (even if they are swamped with people), and delicious coffee. however, the 'kitchen' (really just a grill) is very small, so every time we go it takes a very long time for the food to be served. since salvationcafe is closed on a monday, l8 gets incredibly busy and last time i went they had to turn a couple of customers away because they couldn't cope with the load.
i had a couple of different paninis, sandwiches and burgers, and they are all pretty delicious. i especially like the sandwich bread, it's very crusty. the special coffee's are especially yummy, and gives you quite a sugar high afterwards. the food is more on the expensive side, and i'm not quite sure i can justify the price with the quality and the wait especially when there are so many different cafes in around. i can sure say that they are definitely not my first choice in 44 stanley though.
bottomline: good vibe, but not amazing enough to warrant a special visit.
pros: good food and drinks, friendlyservice, good vibe and location
cons: slightly too expensive, long waiting time
