the spicy marinated raw crab prompted me to choose this restaurant.
awww didn’t disappoint me, the raw crab was fully flavored during marinating process. 🦀 meat is very soft and could easily suck the crab flesh out of the legs, claws, and body. but less sweet will be perfect!
they serve many varieties of side dishes. and everything weorderedwere worth the price, very good quantity of them. everything weorderedwere tasty and definitely gonna go there try other stuff🤣

we came on a saturday evening and were not greeted straight away, we had to stand awkwardly, waiting for someone to notice us. after a few minutes we managed to approach someone who pointed a table for us to sit at. we sat down and another 5 minutes went by without being given a menu or any other sort of acknowledgement so we managed to find some menus were some staff were standing.

we came here already set on the cold noodles as it was so hot this day and we didn’t have an appetite for anything else. weordereda 물냉면 (cold buckwheat noodles) and 비빔냉면 (cold spicy buckwheat noodles). 물냉면 usually comes with a few slices of beef, but it didn’t at this restaurant which was a bit disappointing. everything was good and refreshing, just what we were looking for. the 비빔냉면 was also refreshing but a lot more flavourful with the sesame oil and gochujang. overall the dishes were perfect for a hot day, light, refreshing and cooling.

we only got 2 side dishes and the kimchi was the worst i’ve had in my life. the cabbage was completely crunchy, it had not been left to ferment for long, if at all. i feel like they slapped on the marinade and just served it straight away. very disappointing.

the main dishes were great, but i feel like other important aspects such as service and side dishes let us down way too much.

last night weorderedthe “minmul jangeo jeongsik”, eel set that includes 1 x rice and 1 x soup and “yukgaejung” spicy beef with vegetable soup with 1 x rice, both came to $40 something. the spicy beef soup was yum, but the eel tasted a bit off. service is friendly as always, but this time they didn’t give us any side dish until we asked. environment is nice, it’s a very busy place and they still managed to bring food to our table quickly which was quite impressive really.

very bad experience and service. i have been there few times before and today went with a group of friends. 10 adults plus five kids who under 4 another two kids just 1 yers old. then weordered11 meals in total, the lady said that we have toorderedtwo more otherwise they refuse to refill our side dishes. we explained that kids won’t eat much but they still insist coz their ridiculous policy. this is a not welcoming kids restaurant. definitely won’t coming back.

i was very disappointed of this restaurant. they have policy of 1 person had to order a dish! i came with 3 adults and 1 baby and 1 4 yr. iordered3 main dishes and they said i have to order 2 more. if i don't, they will only give 1 round of side dishes, i said, let it be, coz my baby does not eat rice ( he was only 3 months old) and my 4 had eaten, so he wont be eating so much. so they only gave us 4 dishes. we quickly ate and did not even finish our meal, we were so upset.  i complained to the owner and she doesn't speak english, then the daughter showed up and instead of being nice, she said it was their policy and i said the policy was not good. my baby was still 3 mth old, he wont eat rice, it could kill him. she said she did not care. i was like. i was very unhappy. in my opinion, as i love korean food and had tried so many restaurants in auckland. their food is below standard, over priced. overal;: my experience was not good at all. i rather go to another korean restaurant. definitely will not be coming back! service was so awful.

i was having a flu and craving for some hearty food. ended up here andorderedtheir yukgaejang (beef soup) and bulgogi. they serve a variety of side dishes together with the meal as well. food wise i found them to be average and price is a bit on the higher side.

very poor overall. be careful with what you order because they may serve you with different side dishes - cheaper in value. weordereda set menu which comes with 10 side dishes. the dish is the same as what the two korean ladiesorderedwho seat next to us. however, the side dishes come out for us are different from what they have got. the only expensive side dish - crab was not served. the owner first explained that we have to order separately but i showed them that we haveorderedthe exact same set menu. then they said the crab is out of stock. as customers we were not advised what you get so it's all in a lucky draw and you get what they serve you. their explanation was poor and we were not told that the side dishes was out of stock. also, a normal bottle of soft drink is charged almost double the price compares to restaurants at a similar level. no price labels on the drinks. so again, you don't know how much the drink cost until you pay.
taste is very average. i question the honesty of the restaurant. we also wanted to be seated at a corner seat but was told it's reserved without any sign. we were there for more than an hour but no one used that table. then we were told customer might have cancelled the seat.
i would not go again myself in future. i believe in basic honesty if you are doing a business. i'd like to share this poor experience with people who do want to try.

pro tip: when you dine at kumkang, don't wear clothes that you're not planning to put in the wash after dinner! the aroma of korean barbecue is strong here; you can even smell it from the outside.

aside from the barbecued meat, we alsoorderedthe stuffed chicken soup. but it was the korean pancake that stood out the most – i'd highly recommend it!

their side dishes are a bit different to what i've gotten at other korean restaurants. a good variety though, with a mix of spicy and non-spicy ones.

service here is friendly even for non-koreans; the younger staff members are fluent in english.

good food and nice side dishes.orderedeel and wifeorderedspicy fish egg soup. came with plenty of side dishes and meals were good portion. i particularly liked potato salad, noodle with veges, and kimich side dishes.

went with a friend for dinner. it is a busy restaurant, which i always take as a good sign. orderedspicy chicken, seafood pancake, and fried pork cutlet. the food was tasty, and the little side dishes were really good too. the service was good/average. it's not five-star hotel service, but i got my food on time, and the waitress came over when i asked for help. i had my hand raised up to ask for coke and my friend looked at me strangely, shaked her head, and pressed this little bell button thing on the table, and the waitress magically came over to our table.

went there a few times because lots of asians say it's good , to be honest i feel their customer service is very poor, maybe because it's always full of ppl, but the last we went there it was appalling ! the waitress that came to take our order pointed out we had 10 ppl but onlyordered8 dishes, but we tried to explain to her that we have a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old that doesn't eat much at all........ but she still tries to push us to order more so at the end we gave in andorderedmore dish which we didn't finish..... i don't think they know what customer service is, food is not that exceptional to make up for their bad attitude ... won't be going back again for sure.

mixed feelings about this restaurant.

while the food is definitely on the good side, the same can't really be said for the service.
dining in a group of 3, each of usorderedmeats for the grill. meats were standard korean bbq flavours, lovely and succulent when grilled. there were plenty of side dishes to eat from as well. however, this was somewhat detracted from by an elderly worker who seemed to think we were taking too long to eat, and started throwing our meat on the grill and cooking for us before we even finished our last batch.

there is a lack of good kbbq options on the shore, and while this place definitely isn't bad, there are better options.

on last thursday around 7:30pm, my family with 6 adult and 2 toddlers who  just under 2 years old went to kamkung mountain korean resturant for dinner. i told the staff we 6 adults and 2 toddlers when we arrived. however, the staff is rude and not really care. after seated, we order 6 full meals for 6 adults. after 3 mins later, the middle-aged woman came to have a look our table & us and talked with one of the staff (young lady)in korean. after that, staff told us we haven't been order enough food and we must order more. weordered6 full meals for 6 adults and i believe this is enough. the staff said we must order food for those 2 toddlers as well. i said ' wait a minutes, they are just a toddlers and can't finish the full meals. why they need to order?' i believe this is our choice and not the resturant tell me what to order rudely. the staff said this is their resturant policy. i asked her where is the policy show? she can't show to me at all. i believe this is ridicuious. end up, i asked cancel all my order and leave the resturant. the staff not really care about us leaving at all.   i will never go to this resturant again and highly not recommanded for anyone who have baby, toddler and child go to this resturant for a dinner

we went to this restaurant last week (6 adults + 1 child). sat andorderedour meal as we thought 6 portion would be sufficient for the 7 of us. restaurant waiter was very arrogant & insisted weordered7 portions otherwise they would not take our orders. hence, we have no choice as our child was very hungry and landed with excessive food leftover that went to waste. food was very average and full of msg. this will be my last time and will never visit this restaurant again. how can you force your customers to order in excess what they can eat.
