price has recently increased about 15% more so menu is not exactly up-to-date here and hours now changed to only mon- sat. our family comes here quite often, we like to visit kumkang when they are not busy. the staff could be a bit unfriendly in peak hours (when asks for refill of side dishes for example). food is good, plenty of choices with delicious side dishes, and they open til late night (11pm) always a bonus. the only thing is that if youorderthe big stew dish that you can share, it does not come with rice ($2 extra pp)! also, each person mustorderone dish or there would be additional charge. plenty of parking on site though.

a korean restaurant that has been around for a long time. my adorable twins love to have marinated beef. i have been to kumkang regularly since i was pregnant with them. maybe that is why they like it along with the potato banchan. iordertwo beef for the twins when they are hungry since they fight when sharing. want delicious meat? go here.

i was very disappointed of this restaurant. they have policy of 1 person had toordera dish! i came with 3 adults and 1 baby and 1 4 yr. i ordered 3 main dishes and they said i have toorder2 more. if i don't, they will only give 1 round of side dishes, i said, let it be, coz my baby does not eat rice ( he was only 3 months old) and my 4 had eaten, so he wont be eating so much. so they only gave us 4 dishes. we quickly ate and did not even finish our meal, we were so upset.  i complained to the owner and she doesn't speak english, then the daughter showed up and instead of being nice, she said it was their policy and i said the policy was not good. my baby was still 3 mth old, he wont eat rice, it could kill him. she said she did not care. i was like. i was very unhappy. in my opinion, as i love korean food and had tried so many restaurants in auckland. their food is below standard, over priced. overal;: my experience was not good at all. i rather go to another korean restaurant. definitely will not be coming back! service was so awful.

nice soup and side dishes. nice staff.
i think the average price can be lower if you justorderset dish...like bbq pork, kimche soup ..jus about 16 to 17 per dish n good vlume. i like their rice, outstanding than other restaurants.

very poor overall. be careful with what youorderbecause they may serve you with different side dishes - cheaper in value. we ordered a set menu which comes with 10 side dishes. the dish is the same as what the two korean ladies ordered who seat next to us. however, the side dishes come out for us are different from what they have got. the only expensive side dish - crab was not served. the owner first explained that we have toorderseparately but i showed them that we have ordered the exact same set menu. then they said the crab is out of stock. as customers we were not advised what you get so it's all in a lucky draw and you get what they serve you. their explanation was poor and we were not told that the side dishes was out of stock. also, a normal bottle of soft drink is charged almost double the price compares to restaurants at a similar level. no price labels on the drinks. so again, you don't know how much the drink cost until you pay.
taste is very average. i question the honesty of the restaurant. we also wanted to be seated at a corner seat but was told it's reserved without any sign. we were there for more than an hour but no one used that table. then we were told customer might have cancelled the seat.
i would not go again myself in future. i believe in basic honesty if you are doing a business. i'd like to share this poor experience with people who do want to try.

really bad experience. we've been there for last 4-5 years . 3adults 4 kids (1 year 3 year 3 year 6year) kids have cold so take own food .
weorder3 meals which $28 $26 $18 for adults. but they said no outside food unless we take 5 meals .and they will not refill for us . we explained kids will not eat . we can't eat 5 meals . they told us 'u can go home and feed ur kids ' and told us .'u can go other place to eat and we don't welcome u .' when we r going to leave . a lady push us 'u should go .leave here. ' totally we took 5 mins to leave .

went there a few times because lots of asians say it's good , to be honest i feel their customer service is very poor, maybe because it's always full of ppl, but the last we went there it was appalling ! the waitress that came to take ourorderpointed out we had 10 ppl but only ordered 8 dishes, but we tried to explain to her that we have a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old that doesn't eat much at all........ but she still tries to push us toordermore so at the end we gave in and ordered more dish which we didn't finish..... i don't think they know what customer service is, food is not that exceptional to make up for their bad attitude ... won't be going back again for sure.

we are regular customers, we go there almost every weekend because we know we won't be let down by the flavor! if you like or wanna eat some authentic korean food, i highly recommend this place!!! we used toorderbbq but weather like these days, we go for soup or the food served in clay pot.

taste (main food):
this place is by far the best korean restaurant (in my opinion) with some reasons. the taste is really authentic and i think they don't use msg because i don't have urge to drink water after their food.    

taste (side dish):
there is a saying that you can tell from the food taste of a restaurant by tasting kim-chi. here, the kim-chi taste is sooo good as well as other side dishes! i've been to quite a few korean restaurants but here serves the best side dishes in my opinion and they are different every time we go.

waiting staff:
not so kind but not so rude but there were one very kind male staff (who seems not working there anymore) once.

cleanness:
you can tell if the place is clean or not by looking at their toilets. their toilet is always kept clean. fyi, i've only used female's one so not sure about male's but i guess it'll be the same.

price:
i forgot the cost of bbq but separate one portion dishes are from $15 that comes with 5 or 6 delicious side dishes. very good value for money and taste good too.

overall, good taste, good value, clean. highly recommend this place especially cold and wet season.

the food is good and quite good portions however, it seems that they have a policy that each person who dines in shouldordera dish! i was with my family and my sis-in-law's family and we were 4 adults and 6 kids. the first issue they brought up was that we can't take two tables that separated the kids and adults. the second issue was they wanted us toorder10 dishes and their reason was we were 10 regardless of age. i tried reasoning out that our kods (apart from a 13 year old, would even be able to finish a dish).

anyway, we ended up ordering for each person and had to take away a lot.

not really friendly people there.

i've been to this korean restaurant twice. marinated beef and beef tripe hot pot are quite nice, nothing too special though. they have heaps of side dishes which tops off the whole meals. unfortunately, their pork bone soup isn't to my liking at all. korean pork bone soup has always been a mustorderdish for me when popping in a korean restaurant and has sort of become the most significant element to rate a restaurant.

i realised lots of people find their customer service appalling, well, honestly, i personally think the service not that bad，despite the mid-aged female waitress does not seem to be able to speak english.the price is quite reasonable, given the quantity and quality of food.

on last thursday around 7:30pm, my family with 6 adult and 2 toddlers who  just under 2 years old went to kamkung mountain korean resturant for dinner. i told the staff we 6 adults and 2 toddlers when we arrived. however, the staff is rude and not really care. after seated, weorder6 full meals for 6 adults. after 3 mins later, the middle-aged woman came to have a look our table & us and talked with one of the staff (young lady)in korean. after that, staff told us we haven't beenorderenough food and we mustordermore. we ordered 6 full meals for 6 adults and i believe this is enough. the staff said we must order food for those 2 toddlers as well. i said ' wait a minutes, they are just a toddlers and can't finish the full meals. why they need to order?' i believe this is our choice and not the resturant tell me what toorderrudely. the staff said this is their resturant policy. i asked her where is the policy show? she can't show to me at all. i believe this is ridicuious. end up, i asked cancel all myorderand leave the resturant. the staff not really care about us leaving at all.   i will never go to this resturant again and highly not recommanded for anyone who have baby, toddler and child go to this resturant for a dinner

we went to this restaurant last week (6 adults + 1 child). sat and ordered our meal as we thought 6 portion would be sufficient for the 7 of us. restaurant waiter was very arrogant & insisted we ordered 7 portions otherwise they would not take our orders. hence, we have no choice as our child was very hungry and landed with excessive food leftover that went to waste. food was very average and full of msg. this will be my last time and will never visit this restaurant again. how can you force your customers toorderin excess what they can eat.

our korean friend took us here last night and we just let herorderfor all of us.
the staff were incredibly friendly and the food was amazing! there is a little barbecue in the middle of the table with charcoal in (gas powered) and you cook your own meat to you liking! fun and tasty!i think i will go back there again and again. the staff also speak very good english so i won't be bothered about going without my korean friend. i'm afraid i can't tell you about the pricing as we didn't pay the bill, but i think it was rather reasonable from what i saw on the menu when i arrived and the place was pretty busy! go try it!
